  Great staff and food, but noisy room

  We have been to Rius before and enjoyed the same quality food and friendly staff and nice rooms. Our only complaint was that we are seniors and we ended up right over the entertainment stage and a room very far from an elevator so the stairs to the 2nd floor (which is really the 3rd floor) were very challenging for us. While hubby slept ok, i found the noise level very challenging to sleep, so would recommend this location for folks who like to stay up late and party. It was consistently loud until 11:30 or 12 every night and the White Party Wed night we had vibrations in our room. Still a good time walking the beach, aquafit, etc.

  Loved the resort... (but one hitch)

  Was an amazing first all inclusive experience. The last day was a bit of a problem that I'd avoid if possible, our shuttle to the airport was at 7pm and checkout was at noon... they allowed us to use the full resort until 5pm which was great, but after 5 we had to remain in the lobby... the dinner buffet doesn't start until 6 so we had hoped that we could attend to feed our group of 8 (four children) but when I asked the front desk they denied it and when I offered to pay extra for the meal they wouldn't allow that either... so we ended up buying food for our kids at the airport which was extremely pricy. That was the only setback, but it was one that made an impact and made me want to leave this review.

  Amazing Time

  The customer service is at the top level, they pay attention to every detail. Amazing views, relaxing atmosphere, a lot of activities options. There is everything you need for an unforgettable vacation. Family friendly. Loved staying there!

  Good for families and party goers

  We just got back from spending a week there with tweens. We travel quite a bit with family and as a coulle and can be very picky so keep that in mind when reading my review. Location - Lovely and quiet area if you're not looking to leave the resort. Almost any excursion is quite far away from this resort and the bus transfer from the airport is at least 45 minutes depending on number of stops you need to make. Atmosphere - Definitely a family resort with a water park for kids but they also promote adult only parties quite a bit between RIU resorts in the area and the on-site night club is loud and busy until 2am. So if you're looking to party, you'll like this place. Rooms - Clean, nice bathrooms and spacious. Plenty of space on balcony as well with a rack to hang wet bathing suits etc. There's frosted glass between the room and the shower which is strange if you're there with older kids and sharing the room as there's no privacy. Beds are doubles and tiny, hard as rock and sheets are like sand paper. They put us in a room above the night club which kept our room vibrating and our family awake until 2am so make sure to get a room as far away from the club as you can if you're not planning on being up late. However, based on the resort layout, I'm not sure you'll be able to complete avoid the noise. Service - Staff is friendly but busy and we often had to ask for service at the buffet because they were just overwhelmed or went to get utensils and drinks ourselves. Food - Average, nothing spectacular but you won't go hungry. No omelet stations, not a ton of choice for picky kids and often ran out of popular items like eggs, bacon, desserts, lettuce, pasta and so on. We have picky kids so we did not go to any a la carte restaurants so I can't comment on those but they didn't take reservations and people seemed to line up early to try and get a table at them. Pool - Fantastic. 4 of them and they are warm and clean. We never had a problem getting chairs in January and didn't get down there until 8h30 at the entertainment pool. Beach - OK. Red flag everyday and some days had alot of seaweed. The RIU next door had a tractor out cleaning it everyday but not at the Dunamar. Waterpark - Fine. Nothing to slide down with like a tube or carpet so quite uncomfortable. Our kids didn't like them but significantly better than some of the really sad kids clubs the RIUs used to have. The really young kids part has slides too, it's cute and fairly large. Cleanliness - No complaints here. Saw staff out cleaning everything everywhere all the time. Entertainment - Typical shows at night. We love participating in the games at the resort pools during the day and this resort really lacked that for both adults and kids. Very few good games were had, maybe 2-3 in total for the whole week. The rest was bingo, party promoting or beach volleyball repeatedly everyday. One thing we really didn't like is that we felt they tried to trap us into purchasing photos which were unbelievably expensive. The photo service is free but when you try to go view them they wont discuss the price with you until you've selected the photos you like and then they try to sell you some astronomically priced package, so beware of that! Overall though, good, clean average resort for families or young adults looking to party but would not recommend for couples looking for a romantic, more upscale experience.

  Girls trip weekend Jan 2026

  Great food, beautiful resort and the perfect beach location. Had a small incident with Lalo, the Chef at the Asian restaurant, but other than that, the hotel staff was amazing. The alcohol quality could be better.
