Unsafe and awful
Totally disappointed with this trip. On Wednesday morning around 5am or so during the storm my husband and I were awoken to a Spanish speaking female entering or balcony door. I was shocked especially since we were on the 5th floor plus we were in the throws of the storm. I asked her what she was doing and she said was sorry. I went to reception and spoke to a manager who was no help. He said it wasn’t his staff. He just blew me off. Extremely upsetting and annoying. I didn’t expect him to search the hotel for her but look at the cameras. I never felt safe the rest of the time there. The food was not the best. It was extremely bland. People around us were actually doing door dash. Ridiculous. Or balcony we couldn’t use because the paint was badly chipping and kept falling on us. We stayed at RIU Cabo and loved everything about it.

PERFECT
Great experience, all other reviews mentioned cleaning subject are 100% on point . As someone who looks at that and cares about this I can say well done riu, the boys who clean the beach of sargassum deserve a pay rise they work sooo hard in the heat and try to keep the beach clean constantly for guests. First time being at a Riu hotel and I’m surprised, enjoyed the experience and definitely will try more Riu’s. Staff are amazing , helpful. We got a room on riu party side which was a bit loud , as we wanted a calm and quite room the reception dealt with this very fast and without any issues we got another room which was quiet on the other side with the same beautiful ocean view. Food was okay as it is in resorts . Nothing special but everyone could find something for themselves so 3.4/5 on that. We was at the time of hurricane Helene , but that didn’t ruin our holiday the hotel is well prepared for these weather conditions and handles it professionally. Overall very pleased with this holiday !

Overall, Great Trip!
Celebrated my sister turning 30. It was my mom, my sister, and I. We were upgraded to an ocean front connecting room which was awesome. The 24 hour snack options are sandwiches, fruit, muffins, and nachos. The bars are...bars. They will make you anything you want! Just don't expect it to be consistent. They stop serving at 2am. The restaurant staff is very nice but the food is not impressive. The photos on their scanable menus are FAR from what you're going to get. The flavor is fine! Just not what you're expecting. So it's very underwhelming when it arrives. The buffet was my favorite place to eat. It was actually pretty good! The pool side grill had chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, fruit, and french fries. The beds are not very comfortable in the double bed rooms. My mom had a king bed. Her bed was really comfy! The humidity is high so we felt wet all the time, but they changed the sheets whenever you requested, so tbh its not really a big deal. The room had AMAZING AC. I was honestly surprised because of how hot and muggy it was there. The AC was such a relief! Hurricane Helene hit. They did their best to keep us entertained, but they couldn't serve alcohol because of the dry laws. Which was fine because you have full size bottles of alcohol in your room as part of the complimentary mini bar! Which they stock daily with water, Pepsi, 7up, ginger ale, and tonic water. There is no room service, but if I didn't feel like being drunk in public, I'd grab a plate of food from the sushi place or buffet and just take my food to the room. Overall I really enjoyed my stay! It's great place if you just want to relax, party, and eat! It is beautiful but not luxurious. They claim to be kid friendly but my impression was that they are not. More like, kid tolerating.
