A truly special holiday to remember
Once we arrived at RUI Caribe in Cancun, I was shocked to see how big the hotel was and was so excited to be staying there for 7 nights. All the staff were absolutely amazing and went beyond my expectations in customer service. The room was really clean and they stocked your minifridge everyday. The pools were amazing, the beach was great and the food crazy good! Please try the cheesecakes if u stay there, that's perfection! Thank you RIU Caribe for the most special vacation, it was one to remember!

Ideas for a more accessible stay at your hotel
I stayed a week with my husband in wheelchair. I have requested an accessible room by his call center and I was surprised when I arrived at the hotel they did not reserved an accessible room for my husband instead they offered me to move to an accessible room after two nights at the hotel due to availability. I need it up staying in a two bedroom room not accessible. The hotel could offer a walk board to the beach for wheelchair users as well as the gym. My husband was excited to use the gym but he was surprised when the gym does not has any ramps accessible to the gym and my huswad not able to exercise during his whole stay. The rest of our stay was enjoyable due to the entertainment team and the good food they offered.

Disappointed
Stayed here over the new year period very disappointed would not recommend or return , the Rui party’s lively but not good for everyone , lots choice of food but cold unless you go to food station and order. Nothing within walking distance if you want to go out you need uber . Rooms clean balconies small drinks weak honestly I don’t have anything good to say

Best bang for the buck in Cancun — great staff + surprisingly good food
We booked last-minute through CheapCaribbean and couldn’t beat the deal. The resort was priced on the lower end, but it had 4+ star reviews on TripAdvisor, so we went for it. Honestly, we came in with very low expectations. But once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was awesome — bartenders, servers, and even the housekeeping team were friendly, helpful, and genuinely customer-focused. The facility was consistently clean, the landscaping was well-maintained, and the pools stayed clean throughout our stay. Food was the biggest surprise. The Coral buffet was easily the best option and the food was much better than what we’ve experienced at other resorts in the area. The steakhouse, Asian restaurant, and the “gourmet” option weren’t as impressive as the hype, but the Coral buffet was on point and had solid variety. There’s also a gym — nothing fancy, but enough basic machines and weights to get a workout in. Only suggestion: stay on top of cleaning the seaweed on the beach. We stayed at Riu Cancun on our last trip and they did a great job consistently clearing the seaweed daily. If this resort improved that, it would be an easy home run. Overall: awesome staff, clean property, good food, fun vibe (the pink party and onsite club were a big plus), and the best value for the money in Cancun.b

Avoid. Uncaring hotel/company
Myself, husband and daughter came and stayed at this hotel for a week to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday. I had been messaging the customer services for about a month prior to our arrival about making my daughter birthday special. Ie: decorate the room etc. When I went to reception the night before to hand over the balloons banners etc. I spoke to two different ladies about this. I was told by the manger that one of the ladies was on holiday and the other one would not have time to do it. I told the manager this was not good enough. I showed him the email correspondence with both ladies. He told me to come back later , he will sort it out. He spoke to the lady and told her she had to do it. She did a lovely job the next day. My daughter was very happy. Although they gave her a RUI water bottle as a gift. When we were moved next door they gave me a small bottle of tequila and a cake with Happy birthday on it. I do feel as it was my daughter 18th they could have done better. Anyway the above is not the reason for my bad review. If I could score them nothing I would have. On 4th September (thankfully the day after my daughter’s birthday) I was very badly assaulted in the pool bar. The hotel handled this situation very badly. Myself and my husband were having a quiet drink at the end of the pool bar when three Americans started an argument with us. We tried to ignore them but they clearly wanted an argument. They were all very drunk. This ended with the man punching me in the face (resulting in a black eye), one of the girls grabbing my hair and putting my face in the water while the third girl was hitting me on the head with a metal thermos mug. The girl who had me by the hair then scratched me across the face while pushing my head in the water. I had three of them on me. No one came to help including the staff. The so called security man was more concerned with some drunk guy on the side of the pool. People were shouting security he just stood on the side of pool and watched. My husband had to try and pull three people off me. Not something a sixty year old man should be doing. He got badly scratched across the shoulder and chest whilst trying to get them off. Eventually the management came out and forced them to get out of the pool after my husband had got them off me. The hotel called the police. I do feel they weren’t too concerned about my safety as they left the three attackers at the side of the pool where I needed to get out. The girl was shouting at me and went to come at me again. The manager should have moved them away. They all went off to reception and I was left by the pool on my own for ages. No one came to check on me. They had friends with them. Any one of them could have attacked me at anytime. I sat with a lovely couple who witnessed the whole thing. I had a lot of witnesses including a lovely Mexican man who all saw what happened and that it was an unprovoked attack We were minding our own business. Eventually the manager came out to get me and took me to reception. The attackers were in reception too with the police. This really isn’t on bringing me anywhere near them. I was very shook up and in shocked and very scared. I received no medical attention whatsoever. I had been smashed around the head and had my head push under water. I should have been checked over by a doctor. I wasn’t offered anything like a hot drink or a blanket/towel as I was soaking wet and in shock. Eventually the manager spoke to me. I told him that I did not feel safe staying in that hotel as it is an open fronted hotel. Anyone could walk in. Also they have friends staying there. They could attack us at anytime. I feared more for my daughter as she walked around on her own. He said I would be safe there. I kept insisting that I want to move as I feared for our safety. He eventually went off and sorted it out for us to move next door to The Palace. Not once did I get an apology for the lack of help during and after my attack. I definitely should have received medical attention. On my return home I went to the hospital and was told that I had very bad concussion. I definitely should have received medical attention and should never had flown home at that time. I wrote an email of complaint to both the hotel and RIU as a company and got brushed off. They were not interested. I am very disappointed in the lack of care they have. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone including people online ie: fb etc. I have hidden my name or any details as I do not want the attackers to find me.
