We had an amazing holiday evryone were so lovely, the place was beautiful and the food exactly what I needed. The only thing there was a bit of see wheed but the they took care every day so no botherd.

Fantastic Honeymoon at the Riu Cancun!
My new husband and I cannot say enough about the fantastic time we had for our honeymoon at the Riu Cancun from June 13 - 20, 2025 . From the moment we arrived until we left we found nothing to complain about. The staff are beyond super friendly and helpful. We especially loved Angeles in the buffet restaurant, Erma in the La Punta lobby bar, Miguel in the Wet N Drinking pool bar. The food selection and flavours exceeded our expectations and the drinks were great as well. The pools and poolside were always clean and the pools were a perfect temperature. The grounds and hotel in general was very clean. You could always see someone sweeping, mopping, and cleaning up after the guest who left their drink cups and food plates out. The rooms are a bit tired looking but very clean with lots of towels and facecloths put out daily. Our maid was so sweet with the towel decorations daily and the hotel left a card and bottle of tequila for our honeymoon celebration :o)The mini fridge was always stocked with tons of bottled water, beer and pop daily. The highlight of the Riu Cancun by far is the entertainment staff who work tirelessly to keep you entertained and engaged. The daily pool, poolside games and nightly shows were so much fun! We cannot wait to return...hopefully in January for my birthday :o)

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! We came to Riu Cancun as we had such an amazing time at one we stayed in in Jamaica. From the moment we arrived at Riu Cancun we had nothing but issues. On arrival we entered our room to find it had not been cleaned! Cigarette butts on the balcony as well as food. We went back to reception which wasn’t close to the room with all our luggage to be given another room. This time the room smelt so bad. Again we had to travel back with all the luggage. On the third attempt we finally got a room although the fridge in the room was making a lot of noise but we could not be bothered to seek another room having travelled 14 hours. On the 2nd day the key cards failed to work. We was sent back to the room on 4 occasions to be told the card is working which is wasn’t. Finally someone from reception came with us and their master card didn’t even work! The issue was fixed but later that night when going back to the room the card failed again!! We went back to reception and they programmed the card and guess what…. It didn’t work! We refused to go back to the room until they sorted it. They then told us the batteries had failed. Not once in the whole time did we get an apology or anything. The staff did not care at all. I’m actually writing this review while I sit in reception while the fix the issue which I’m not convinced will work. They told us we can change rooms (again) but won’t be a double bed as don’t have any left. Still not apology. The customer service is non existent. They treated us like we were the problem. Such a shame when we have traveled so far and to face such bad service. Will not be returning again.

This place is awesome!
We came for my mom’s 55th birthday and we had a blast.. everything was on time, didn’t have to wait when we got there.. food was great.. music was great.. atmosphere was awesome! Pink party was all of that. I had so much fun at the pink party. I will be coming to riu Cancun again.
