Average in most areas
Good was just ok, nothing is really clearly marked. Asian and Italian restaurants weren’t worth it. Steakhouse was very good and the buffet was good. Entertainment by the activities pool was great. Can’t adjust temp in room, showerhead was broken, safe didn’t work.

An average resort in Cancun
We stayed in a nice Jr. Suite with sea view, which we enjoyed. One caveat is the floor in the shower in the bathroom, was slippery—no grooves in tile or a provided bathmat. The staff were friendly, hardworking and the best part of this hotel. The food was good, not spectacular but always available. The pool area was nice, but loud (it was difficult to find lounge chairs, let alone in the shade.) No real entertainment at night, although they provided a party to another one of their hotels. The first few days of our stay were truly lovely, and we felt optimistic and well cared for. Unfortunately, our final day and night left us disappointed and unsettled. As someone living with celiac disease, dining can often feel stressful when traveling. I was genuinely grateful to both La Toscana (Italian) and the Steakhouse for doing their best to provide safe meals from the limited options available to me. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, and I felt accommodated and respected there. We were especially excited to dine at the Kulanarium (gourmet restaurant) on our last night as the online menu indicated several gluten-free options. However, when we arrived, we were told those items were not actually available as gluten-free, leaving me with very little I could safely eat. It was disheartening and embarrassing to have to leave, and we returned to Toscana, where once again I felt welcomed and cared for. That evening, what should have been a restful final night became incredibly frustrating. We were kept awake nearly the entire night by the sound of a chainsaw. After an otherwise pleasant stay, it was upsetting to end on such a disruptive note. By morning, we were exhausted and honestly relieved to move on to the next resort. We truly wanted to leave with only wonderful memories. While there were bright spots and people who made real efforts to accommodate us, the final experience overshadowed what had been a promising stay.

Great vacation
My husband and I took his mom for a beach vacation and if the weather had cooperated we would have been a lot happier! However, we did enjoy our stay. We had great view of the ocean and balcony! Our room was perfect for us and the shower was great! We had great water pressure and hot water and that determines the majority of our “great” response! The food was really good and we had wonderful servers! Adults only is the way we will go from now on and we hope to stay in Riu on our next trip! The only thing we would change is have to get our own chairs for the beach. We all three were “crippled” in one leg or the other and it would have been nice to have had a resort person setting these out for us. Other than that, I give it a GREAT rating!l and recommend others to check it out!

Great Location, Staff was awesome. None of the restaurants had bathrooms not good. Youd had to go out of the restaurant to designated restrooms. The beds were not comfortable. Entertainment was good. In general, enjoyed my stay with 3 girlfriends. Love that they greeted us with champagne at checking in.
