Jan 03, 2026Great Time at the Riu Cancun
We had a lovely time. Thank you. Our schedule pick up and drop off went very well. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned regularly. The pool was beautiful and we learned we need to get up by 6:30 pm to lay our towels on chairs. The staff was wonderful. The food was pretty decent. Overall we loved the location and entertainment. Well worth it !

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. They had entertainment every night. There is a flea market type are a short walk down. Though expect for the vendors to pursue you to shop at their market. Congo Bongo also isn’t far along with places to eat. The only issue was our safe didn’t work 2x. Though they were prompt to fix it. You can bring you own Stanly type containers and they will but your drink in that. Our bed was a bit odd. Two full beds pushed together. They have a place you can exchange money, you’ll need to present your passport. They have several excursion vendors out by the stage. You can book any day trips with. We used Amstar and were happy and would use again. I would stay at another Rui.

Great Location
The location was great. The ocean was bit more mellow than the the strip, and it was only a 10 min walk to get to the main playa. The beach at the hotel was very easy to swim. The connecting door to the adjacent room was very thin, to the point of being able to hear the safe code being entered, which really sucked. Earplugs are a must. The food was as good as any other Riu; there is always something to be found that is palatable. The transportation to the hotel in the morning was crazy early; 9:00 am departure for a 12:55 flight. I would not do it again; four stops before the airport, and 15 minute waits for late people at some stops. The staff were all great, other than the woman working the pool towel return hut, who clearly hated her job.

Great nice and clean resort. Very accommodating staff. Will definitely go back. Just one tip do not rely on the shuttle service they offer. My shuttle on the way to the airport never showed up and left me stranded. Front desk claimed this to be a third party issue. Inconvenient

a. The number of rooms will be deducted from the contracted allotments

c. The Hotel may request proof of age in the form of passport or official ID
d. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.
4. At all other RIU properties Student Groups / Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at any time during the year.
