Oct 15, 2025Absolutely best RIU thus far.
We stayed there for a week from Toronto. My gf and 30 of her friends {all asian} Me white guy. An amazing experience. We visited RIU in Panama and Costa Rica this year. Probably the best all inclusive we have been too. Food amazing, including buffet. Every person that works there was more than kind. The beach was stunning, and not too many sellers of junk. Entertainment great. This will probably be an annual destination for sure. I do not have one complaint whatsoever, and we are well travelled. Thank you very much RIU staff as I have memories I cannot forget.

My 50th birthday trip
Had an absolutely fantastic stay at the RIU Resort in Cancun! The property was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the overall experience was so nice that I would definitely choose to stay here again. Highly recommend!"

Had the most amazing honeymoon
We had the most amazing time, were sad to leave. The staff were wonderful, amenities such as pools, bars and all restaurants were incredible. We hope to be back!

Oct 12, 2025Another wonderful trip to Cancun
Just returned back to Canada from 4 nights in beautiful Cancun. This was my 9th trip there, 5th resort to use as comparison. I was going alone and really wanted a resort with lovely entertainment (Riu parties did not disappoint). The entertainment staff engaged with guests all day into the night and truly were top notch. I celebrated my birthday there and was blown away by the decorations and gifts from the maids- they brought me flowers and tequila with an incredible ‘Hapoy Birthday’ spread. The location in unbeatable and the beach was beautiful. Pools were clean and the entire property was constantly being cleaned. Few areas for room for improvement: It would be a great idea if the hotel would upgrade their key system to one that is attached to the bracelet - over my 4 nights I believe I needed to go to the lobby and replace about 10 cards as they are very sensitive if placed anywhere near a cellphone/battery. Not a huge deal as it was a short walk, but still would’ve been nice to get in the room without the extra time. Food: I didn’t book Riu for the food, I’m used to all inclusive and some are truly a hit and others a miss, I can always make myself happy in a buffet that has fresh to order pasta, salads and fruit. I did try the Italian one night and the lasagna wasn’t anything great, tasted like tomato soup but again, I didn’t book for the food alone so was no big deal. I upgraded to a junior suite based on reviews and it was worth every penny. GORGEOUS views from my massive balcony, separate sunk in living room and really appreciate being in a smaller building opposed to the main one. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay. The staff go above and beyond and are very friendly and accommodating. I met some amazing people there that truly made my trip one I’ll never forget. I do plan on returning in a few months with friends as it’s a great adults only that is impossible to get bored at. Lastly, if you are a dog lover, please check out Isla Animals. It’s a fantastic rescue about half an hour away ($20 uber) and you can spend the day with the pups and even become a flight guardian to fly one back to Canada/US to their adopters; just reach out prior to arriving and they are very prompt with response times.
