Fantastic Clean hotel and facilities
Having spent an entire month in Mexico, the greater portion of which was anchored at RIU Cancún, I feel compelled to offer a considered reflection on my experience within this particular establishment. This account is confined strictly to my stay at RIU Cancún and does not purport to generalise beyond it. From the very moment my taxi drew up before the hotel’s imposing façade, I was struck by a quiet confidence in its architectural presence. I recall thinking, with some satisfaction, yes—this may indeed be to my taste. The porter, attentive and efficient, promptly opened the door and assumed responsibility for my luggage, setting a tone of professionalism that would persist throughout my stay. Upon entering the reception area, one is met with an expansive, high-ceilinged space, tastefully adorned and flooded with light, evoking an immediate sense of grandeur and ease. For a fleeting moment, the animated presence of youthful guests caused me some hesitation, particularly given my intention to reside there for an extended period; I feared nocturnal disorder and unwelcome disruption. These apprehensions, however, proved entirely unfounded and never once materialised. Turning to the facilities: my accommodation was a sea-facing room on the 11th floor—spacious, immaculately maintained, and furnished with an inviting king-size bed of notable comfort. While the room would benefit from a modest modernisation, this is a subtle shortcoming that only seasoned travellers might discern. The air-conditioning system, though functional, is somewhat temperamental and may present challenges during the height of summer. The bathroom was clean and well kept; however, the absence of bathrobes is a minor but noticeable omission at this level. Were this rectified, the hotel would encounter little resistance in being described unequivocally as a five-star facility. The minibar, replenished daily and generously stocked with alcoholic beverages and spirits, is provided without additional charge—a commendable indulgence. The culinary offerings are abundant and varied, complemented by service of an exceptionally high standard. Indeed, the attentiveness, warmth, and efficiency of the staff deserve the highest commendation and constitute one of the hotel’s greatest strengths. Entertainment is superbly curated and executed, meriting unequivocal praise. The private beach is pristine, with fine sand and meticulous upkeep, offering a tranquil contrast to the vibrancy of the resort itself. Negatives are remarkably few. The hotel is strategically situated, granting easy access to surrounding amenities and attractions. In summation, RIU Cancún not only met but exceeded my expectations and is thoroughly deserving of a five-star rating.

Huge Beautiful Resort
Well maintained resort with zero stay issues. I do wish the sleeping arrangements had more options as it’s two beds pushed together but it worked for us. Lots of pressure in the showers. and they kept the entire resort cleaned all the time! Very very impressive!

Almost Paradise
This place is truly amazing. The only negative I can say is that the water at the resort is not purified. I’ve never stayed at any resort in Cancun that it wasn’t safe to drink the tap water. They do offer you tons of huge bottles of water free though. The food was amazing. The staff was as well. Fernando took care of us every morning at breakfast and Saquel took care of us at the bar daily. He’d see me coming and by the time I got there he’d have my drinks at the edge of the bar ready for me. No waiting. All this while waiting on hundreds of others. Now that’s some amazing service. Even their toilet paper 🧻 was the best I’ve ever experienced at any resort in Cancun before. And I’ve been going since around 1993. You have to get up super early to try and get the pool chairs you want. But that’s at any resort. We will definitely stay here again and we highly recommend it. It may not be for everyone, but they sure went out of their way to cater to us, as well as anyone else that we spoke with. They cleaned the common areas non stop daily. Plenty of nice places to walk to right outside the front doors. Entertainment staff worked non stop to help make everyone happy. Free shuttles and theme parties almost every night. Perfect beach location as well. I say this was a couples trip, but it was just us as a couple. Adults only property, which was especially a perfect choice for us. Personally I say you can’t go wrong with choosing this resort. I’m sure others will disagree. But my thoughts on that are they should pay the major extra bucks for one of the many over priced resorts. There are plenty of those to chose from as well. This place is this best bang for your money for sure.
