    First-Rate Property and Service

Enjoyed our experience at this first-rate property. Cannot say enough about the staff—from check-in to check-out, including front desk, cashier, housekeeping, pools, food service, and transportation through the property. Especially impressed with cart driver Elías (#14), who provided friendly, efficient, above-and-beyond service during move-in and move-out and in between. Service providers work hard here—don’t forget to tip.

Beautiful views, good food, inconsistent service

The views at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach are absolutely stunning; unfortunately, the hospitality did not match the setting. Overall, the food quality was good. One dining option, The Market, is a food-court–style venue with multiple stations rather than a buffet. Service there was consistently poor. Staff often avoided eye contact, acted disengaged, and had difficulty accommodating even simple customizations. This was especially noticeable at the salad station. The Market also does not allow to-go orders, which became a real issue when my elderly father did not feel well enough to come down for dinner and we were unable to bring food back to him. The buffets at La Nao were excellent, with an impressive variety and quality. Service there was better overall than at The Market; however, about half the time we ate there, servers would take an initial drink order, bring the drinks, and then never return — despite generous tipping. We experienced the same issue at The Bistro, the restaurant located below the check-in lobby. The shuttle system was confusing and poorly managed. Multiple groups often waited at once with no clear system for tracking requests, and louder or intoxicated guests frequently jumped ahead. This was especially concerning as we were traveling with someone in a wheelchair. We were promised a VIP welcome package (fruit bowl, chocolates, bottled water, and wine), which never arrived despite calling three times. Our room key bracelets stopped working on day two and had to be reprogrammed at the front desk. Because the resort requires shuttles to get nearly everywhere, even minor issues became time-consuming and involved additional tipping. While we don’t mind tipping, it’s an important consideration here. Uber is not allowed on the property, so guests must use the resort’s taxi service. Airport transportation was $135 one way. When we arrived by Uber, the front desk area was not clearly marked, and we had to take a shuttle from The Market just to check in. Final note: This is a timeshare property. Upon arrival, a “concierge” will request an immediate meeting to explain the resort and attempt to schedule a 90-minute timeshare presentation. In short, beautiful views and good food, but inconsistent service, accessibility challenges, and logistical frustrations significantly impacted our stay.

    Our favorite vacation

We had a great two weeks at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. Everything was perfect. The room was excellent. The view was beautiful. The food was really good big variety of restaurants as well as at Rose and also Los Cabos.. Everyone at the staff was helpful and courteous. The front desk was always there if we had a question.. Sunset Beach is still my favorite vacation. I look forward to going there every year for the past 12 years.

Staff at sunset beach is amazing!

Claret made our room so welcoming and left us beautiful flowers and things to make it special. We so appreciate the extra service we get at PBSB.
