This resort has really gone downhill
We came to this resort for the first time almost 10 years ago. The facility was in great shape then, the food was really good, and the staff very friendly. Fast forward to Sept 2025, and it’s a totally different story. First night, no hot water in the room. After room change on day 2, we discovered around midnight that the a/c wasn’t working. Another room change. And that room had working a/c but only barely, never reaching the set temp. They basically blamed everything on the heavy rains that preceded our arrival. While that may have been the culprit for these issues, we noticed that the shuttles and facilities in general were just looking run-down. The hallway where our room was located had zero lighting at night - pitch black; the floors in hallways and other public areas had water and other stains all over; the pool decking had numerous missing stone tiles; the public restroom faucets were in disrepair; and the power went out in the lobby several different times during our 7-day stay. It is very clear that ownership is skimping on capital expenditure / upkeep. Separately, when we asked about playing pickleball on their tennis courts, we were told $20/hr for the court and $15/paddle rental. What?!?! What happened to “all-inclusive” (which is the plan we were on)?!?! We’ve never had to pay for the court or paddles at any other resort in Mexico. So for 4 players it would have cost $80 for the 1st hour to play. Outrageous. This was generally the theme we noticed everywhere: upcharge at every restaurant and bar — even at the restaurants that already charged an additional fee (LaFrida & Steakhouse @ Quivira Golf Course). After this experience, we will be looking for another resort for our next trip to Cabo.
