Consistently a Great Option
As usual, a great visit at Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach. I love the new food truck and the improved beach chairs. I was disappointed with our room placement. We specifically asked to have our rooms near one another but that did not occur 😔

Going to the Market
The servers have been phenomenal ~ David in the main market area, Jesus in the patio, Marco and Mario delivering. We have had a positive experience with the only negative being wait time for shuttles.

Beautiful resort with a few drawbacks
Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is overall a beautiful resort, perched on a hill with stunning, expansive ocean views. The property is walkable, but because it’s set on a hill, most guests rely on golf carts to get around. I never had any issues getting a golf cart, which made transportation around the resort easy and convenient. Check in took a while, about 30 minutes, which was somewhat disappointing. There was a long line behind me when I left. Also, the timeshare people wait in the lobby to try and invite you to a welcome breakfast and tour so be aware of that. I was a bit nervous about the room after reading other reviews, but our experience was mostly positive. Our two-bedroom suite had hot water, no leaks, and housekeeping came daily. There was a slight musty smell, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Beds were firm but not that bad. The only issue upon arrival was that there were only two towels provided despite it being a two-bedroom suite. We were located above the pool where loud music was played, but surprisingly, we couldn’t hear it from inside the room. However, we did hear repeated loud banging throughout the night that woke us up, possibly from the AC unit or doors from nearby rooms. If you’re sensitive to noise, I’d recommend bringing earplugs. When it comes to food, there were plenty of options. We really enjoyed the food hall, which had something for everyone. The downside is that it can get very crowded, with limited seating, long lines, or food taking anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to arrive after ordering. The nightly buffet was good, though it didn’t seem very busy, and at times the food wasn’t replenished. My kids weren’t fans of some of the food options, and the poolside food was hit or miss, generally good, but occasionally overcooked or burnt. We really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant and would highly recommend it. The drinks were just okay. If you don’t specify a liquor, you’ll receive bottom-shelf alcohol, and many drinks are mixed with juices containing high-fructose corn syrup, which made some of them taste off. Even the margaritas didn’t taste quite right. We eventually stuck to ordering rum and Cokes and/or beer/wine. Additionally, there were several times when top-shelf liquors on their specified list weren’t available. Overall, the resort is beautiful with incredible views and solid amenities, but there are definitely a few areas that could be improved to enhance the guest experience. Oh and PS for the ladies, bring conditioner because there was none in the room.

Felix is the best at Pueblo Bonito!
We had a great trip and it was all because of our waiter and friend Felix! He is the best and works extremely hard to make sure all of the people at the pool are having the best day! Our trips to Pueblo Bonito would not be the same without him! We love him!

I love this place!
I love coming to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. I love the resort but what I love more is the people! My family and I have been coming for over 5 years and have made so many friends here with the workers. Specifically, Felix at the main pool. We come every year and go and sit in his section. He is always so happy and gives us and the others around us the best service!
