What We Love
- Kelly's Bar has fun African hunt club, safari-style decor, really great burgers, fine tequilas and a long list of out-of-this-world martinis.
Things to Know
- Pueblo Bonito Resort at Emerald Bay offers room service, kids' club and full access to sister resort, Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos.
Dip your toes in the frothy ocean along the picturesque shoreline of the resort's private beach. If you're looking to spend the day playing in the waves with the kids, hop on one of the resort's complimentary shuttles to a lovely swimmable beach nearby or let the kiddos splash around in the resort's children's pool while you float below 150-year-old mangroves that surround the resort's three infinity pools. Before heading off to dinner, grab a drink from the swim-up bar (there's one in every pool) and slip into the Jacuzzi for a soak to the chatter of native birds.
The culinary delights of Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay include delicious restaurants, including two delis, the casual open-air Emerald Grill, Kelly's Bar and the buffet, La Cordeliere. For a romantic dinner, try the modern fusion offered at The Bistro, where the view is spectacular from the waterfront terrace and a sommelier is on hand to help with the extensive wine list. Or hop on a shuttle for the quick ride to Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan, where you can dine at the restaurants or grab a drink at the bars. Between Emerald Bay and her sister resort, you'll have 11 restaurants and 6 bars to surround yourself with tasty food and drink.
Let the kids chill out at the kids' club where they can watch movies, play board games and arts-and-crafts the day away while you and your honey visit the full-service Emerald Bay Spa. Pamper yourself with an aromatherapy treatment and massage or get gussied up for a night out at the beauty salon while the guys head off on a fishing expedition or hit the greens at one of Mazatlan's four outstanding golf courses, including the championship 18-hole El Cid Mazatlan. Looking to get in a workout? Head to the lighted tennis courts for an evening family tennis match or stop into the resort's fitness center to work up a sweat before heading back to your suite for some good old R & R.

Our Home away from Home for our 19th year
Thank you to Martin Olivas and the concierge staff. We love the wonderful reception we get from the time we arrive until there until the time we leave . You are helpful, kind, considerate and we have the feeling that we are loved here like family. We don't have to worry about a thing. Thank You All.
Great vacation place
The employees are very friendly and the service is great! Jorge Velavde works at the adult only pool. He always has a smile and quick with your order. Remembers what drinks you like, day to day. In the jewelry store (Maria Bonita), Yadira Gomez F, goes out of her way to be sure you you get exactly what you want. She makes sure you see all the pieces of jewelry that go together. In housekeeping and various other areas is Guadalupe Corrales Acosta, ALWAYS has a smile. Extremely polite and wants to be sure you have what you need. Would love to take her home with me. Security at the resort is spot on. When you leave and return the resort, they ask for your room number. This ensures accountability coming and going. It is not a matter of them getting in your business. It is for security reasons. We always feel safe there.
Chicho at the adult pool was awesome every day we went :-) thank you. Tell his boss Jorge how efficient and nice he was to everyone! Everyone we met at the resort was the same way; all very efficient, helpful and nice. Talk about being catered to, wow! Thank you.
We had a great time ...We loved the Resort. All the employees are very nice & helpful. Arturo Diosdado was so kind and got us a wonderful city tour and dinner. All the waiters and their help were great!
No Longer The Best
While the property is still beautiful and many of the staff are still wonderfully attentive, the buildings, rooms and furniture in particular are rundown and needing attention. There is a lot of construction in Mazatlan and there will soon be better ooptions in Mazatlan, PBEB has lost its high-end quality. Food quality has also gone down, this causes many people to eat off site. We've talked to many people who are experiencing the same disappointments and it's really unfortunate. Also a lack of anything new for entertainment. They have not kept up with some tradition but new and interesting things to captivate people and continue making new memories. I shared many ideas as have other people's. Evening movies at the pool, live poolside patio music or karaoke in the evening. Interactive dining opportunities, bring back some evening performing, not every night but a couple high-end options. The list just goes on of what could be added. The place is dead by seven pm. Lots of new construction in Mazatlan so we've been spending our money there, including recent stays to try places out and some have been very nice!! Maintenance fees better start replacing furniture that is stained and worn out it's actually gross, let alone a lack of any comfort. And the units are needing attention or people will stop coming here. People who have money and have loved this place are not going to put up with it much longer. Fake flowers in the lobby entrance and other public areas?! Really in a climate where real flowers should be pridefully displayed. The fake is tacky! No longer do towel art, pillow menu, bedtime turndown service with a mint or chocolate on the pillow, no longer a rug between the beds in the bed Master room, sushi in the bistro on for limited time and many of the food options are no longer quality options, no evening performances at the buffet, no colorful lights in the circle drive that used to be trees and cheerfully classy, the activities are so minimal and people don't participate because it's the same old. Again, there is just so much that is lacking. It's unbelievable how the pride has disappeared by owner and top management. To top it off, each year we go to the owners "update" and enjoy hearing and seeing anything new. Even though over the years most of what we have been told has not been accurate. So we planned to do this and then benefit from the discounted AI because with the discount it still allowed us to go off site in the evening when the place shuts down. But guess what, no advance communication to owners about this change but they no longer offer this option. So many many many people we talked to around the pool were very unhappy, actually angry about this change happening with no notice for owners to be aware of this in their travel budget. It's all about expectation and some of the people said this was the last thing to now cause them to decide it was their last trip to PBEB. Some of the staff are really the only steady thing that is still good here. We live several of the employees and I would not be surprised if they move on to the new options moving into town.
