    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 👍🏼👍🏼, 10/10 🥰

Wow. I can’t say enough amazing things about this place. The location is amazing, it feels incredibly safe and private. Right on the ocean with amazing foliage, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay is literally a dream come true. We took the shuttle into town to the Mazatlan location and we all came back just so glad that we were staying at Emerald Bay. The Mazatlan PB is really nice, the beach is great, but Emerald Bay is so much better in every other way. The sprawling vistas in a rainforest with the sound of the waves and the super friendly staff and the incredible infinity pool.. Man. What an amazing week. Thank you, PB Emerald Bay staff for ALL you do!!! You go above and beyond, and you made it truly perfect. Special thanks to Patricia at the front desk! She was there every time we went to ask anything, and was very friendly and helpful. I wish I remembered the names of all the staff who made our trip so special! There was one waiter who we raved about, he was at La Cordeliere, said he spoke 11 languages, wears dark rimmed glasses.. I’m sorry we can’t remember your name! It was always so fun to chat with you! Thank you to everyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 10/10, two thumbs up!!👍🏼👍🏼 Highly recommend. I commented to my mom, who booked the trip, “You know you’re in the right place when you come back to it and immediately feel right at home.” 👌🏼👌🏼

A great, quiet resort, lovely pool areas!

This gem is a lovely getaway from the tourist spots. If you are looking for some quiet pool getaway, this is it. Pools: Lots of options around all 3 pool areas (Adult - nice spot with pool bar, but mostly in the shade, Main pools - large, pool bar, hot tub (which tends to get too hot) and another pool area by the Bistro - no pool bar). Great pool service by staff, between drinks and food, the service is amazing. There is only one restaurant serving the main pools so food can be slower at peak times. We never had to fight for chairs, in the sun or shade, any time of the day, lots of options available. Beach: There is no beach area to sit at per se. A few chairs up from the beach that you can sit with a view of the ocean but not right on the beach. The area was closed due to hurricane damage. You are able to get down to the beach if the tide is low and walk up and down. You can also take shuttle to the sister resort if you want to sit at the beach, but make sure of the shuttle times - there is no service in the middle of the afternoon. The bell desk has the schedule, and you have to register. It is free. We also took the shuttle to get dinner at Cilantro at the sister resort, it was a nice change of scenery. Rooms: We had the Master Suite - wow, lots of room, it was a 1 BR apartment with 2 full bathrooms, with a full kitchen, stove, full size fridge, microwave and dishes. Cleaning staff was great, although, if you used dishes from the room, you had to wash yourself or pay extra for housecleaning staff to wash. Our room had a balcony but only few Master Suites have them. We used ours almost everyday, nice to sit outside for sure. Food: We went to the bistro a few times, probably our 'main' place to go for breakfast/dinner. Lunch was mostly by the pool. Only did buffet once or twice, not a buffet kind of couple, but we found it was sufficient. Sushi restaurant was a treat. All food was good, no complaints. Excursion: We took the city tour and dinner at Casa 46. The tour part was kinda money grab as in they took us to a jewellery store, candy store to spend money at, we also got to watch the divers for tip money. We did visit the cathedral which was nice and the set menu at Casa 46 was great food, welcome drink and wine with dinner. I would recommend, even though some parts were a money grab but if you want to do a quick tour of the city and never been, it's worth it. If you know the area then skip the tour but definitely do the dinner at Casa 46 for the upcharge - worth it. It is located right in old town. Entertainment and Bars: After hours, its quiet after 10. No bars open after 10, limited entertainment (a guitar player here and there). We brought our crib board and pretty much went to the room with our drink in hand after 10. There is a pickleball court if you wish to play. Limited entertainment at the pools during the day as well. If you are looking for entertainment, shows, pool activities, you might be disappointed. We didn't mind this at all.

    Extraordinary Hosts

We certainly love the resort and all of its physical amenities but the thing we are most thrilled by is the people. Each and everyone, without exception, greets us with a smile and a kind greeting. The hosts and servers in the restaurants, the pool attendants, the gym staff, housekeeping, groundskeeping, front desk and the concierge. The whole team!!!! I took Spanish lessons a few years ago so I am always keen to try it. Each time I do it is warmly received, never critical or condescending. I walk away from each interaction with a little Spanish lesson in my head and love it. Whatever Pueblo Bonito has done to develop this culture they should keep doing. I have a feeling it goes deeper than that and is a reflection of the Mexican people. The staff is incredibly kind, thoughtful, genuine and most of all, sincere! They are not faking it! My wife and I are already talking about bringing our daughter, son-in-law and grandson here after our son-in-law graduates from engineering next year. It will be like coming home to family! Mexico y Canada - mejores amigos!
