    This place is a DUMP. STAY AWAY.

    Brown tap and toilet and tub water. Inedible food. Missing light fixtures in the room. Peeling paint in the tubs. Hard time getting into the pool because you have to climb a ladder.

    I Am Not Going Back

    First I will start with the positive The hotel is clean and the food is very good The buffet and snack bar are always refilling the bins All staff and service (except Angel at the front desk) were helpful. A big Gracias to Gerry at the front desk who found my missing shirts with the help of hotel security. Also a big gracias to Paula at guest services who was able to get me a better room and find a scooter rental place because of my mobility issues. Also gracias to Star (kids club) who was able to find an extension cord to charge the scooter. I read alot of reviews and Happy Boy and Chocolate of the animation team were mentioned frequently. It's because they were very friendly and outgoing. Don't forget the pool DJs Superman and Nick who also doubled as MC on karaoke night. Negative points. Let's start with Angel at the front desk. He shows us on a map where the room is. After mentioning about my mobility issues, he changes our room to one FURTHER from the lobby. 2 days in, we went to see if anything closer was available. He told us tomorrow at 2 but we have to be out of the room at 9:30. Strange when check out is noon. 2 turned into 3 and at 2:40, he tells us the room he had was not available. The guests extended their stay. I would have told the guests that the room was already booked and they had to move. It was easier to keep us without a room. Now we get another room with only 1 bed. Back to the lobby. The bellboy was getting tired moving our bags back and forth. We finally got a room. The same one we vacated that morning. A wasted day because of Angel who doesn't know his job. The next day, Paula (guest services) got me a room so close to the lobby, it was fabulous, A la carte restaurants were good, (I recommend the Steak House) but you have to book the day of. No advance booking. At 10 in the morning, there is a line waiting to reserve a table. Entertainment was ridiculous They partner with Senator next door so some nights the show is at Senator and some nights the show is at Playabachata. I like it when I don't have to travel to a resort next door (8 minute walk) to see a show. They never stick to the activities schedule and karaoke is once every TWO weeks. After begging and pleading, they made an exception and had a karaoke night. The pool had no steps. only ladders. Once again with my limited mobility, I could not get out of the pool without help. The direction signs to where the rooms are need to be painted so we could see the numbers. Also, it would be nice if there were more than 2. The bathrooms are outdated but luckily hot water and plumbing was not an issue. Very budget friendly resort but it's partnered with Senator down the beach. I don't recommend this place especially if you have mobility issues.

    A truly beautiful and fun resort

    I stayed at Hotel Playabachata Resort in the Dominican Republic, and I had such a great experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay enjoyable. The check-in process was smooth, and the hospitality truly stood out throughout the entire trip. The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning beachfront views and a relaxing atmosphere. Waking up to the ocean breeze and spending the day by the water was everything I hoped for in a tropical getaway. The beach was clean, and there were always plenty of spots to lounge and unwind. The food options were diverse and flavorful, with something for everyone. Whether it was the buffet or the à la carte restaurants, the meals were consistently fresh and satisfying. The drinks were also great, and the bartenders kept the vibes fun and upbeat. There were lots of activities and entertainment Chocolate and Beans were especially fun! Throughout the day and night, so there was never a dull moment. From poolside music to evening shows, the energy was always positive and lively. Overall, Hotel Playabachata was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, all-inclusive experience in the DR. I’d happily return!
