Birthday Trip
We went to PV for a birthday trip with 5 friends! We had an absolute amazing time! This hotel is in a great area to walk around to shops, dining and much more! The rooms were always clean due to our great housekeeper Abdiel! Always had great service at the pool and beach! Lots of amazing servers coming around with drinks! Enjoyed breakfast every morning at the hotel! Luis is a very friendly and attentive server! Lepita made us the most delicious egg white omelettes each morning! I spent my bday dinner at the hotel with the alacarte dinner option. Ricardo and Jonathon really took care of us! Even hung up a birthday banner and brought a wonderful dessert out. Also did the fish experience at the spa! Super fun! Overall had a wonderful experience at this hotel! All of the staff was amazing and would love to come back!!

Cant wait to go back.
**UPDATE** Not so Sweet Suite All of the review below of our experience in suite stands but it is in my opinion (with 30+ years of customer serving professional experience) that you should judge something on what happens after an issue....not simply if there is. The staff of the PLA reached out, communicated and listened and ultimately found a way to make us feel good about our last experience. Did we book again, yes. Did we reserve a suite, no. Did we invite friends to also book, yes. And family, too. As a young family with small kiddos and medium kiddos staying at PLA is so easy and generally care free that the hardest decision is how many times to return to the buffet. The Playa Los Arcos is great AND I would strongly advise not spending the extra money for a suite. We stayed in a standard room in 2023 and it was lovely. Spacious bathroom, well laid out, comfortable bed and bedding. Returning in 2024 we made a last minute decision to spend nearly twice as much to change our reservation to a suite. This was a huge mistake. The room is only nominally larger. The layout is very poorly thought out. The entire restroom in the suite is the size of the shower in our room in ‘23. This is literal and not hyperbolic. The bathroom door has a 1” by 6” gap at the bottom. The drapes do not operate and do not close out sound. The drawers on the furniture do not close. To open one door you must close the other. The couch is warm well past its lifespan. The lighting is somewhere between depressing institution and harsh interrogation. The wear on the room overall is incredibly disappointing and the room was probably remodeled when Elizabeth Taylor still lived in the neighborhood. When asked to switch it the standard room of last year we were told yes but at the same rate as a suite. No refund and again the suite was nearly double the price. However, room aside we very much like the resort. The food is geared more towards visitors from Mexico, so if you are cruise ship buffet people you may be disappointed. Overall the food is very good. Snacks for kids every day are game changing too. The staff is lovely. Many of the same faces from last year and all that we have encountered from housekeeping, restaurants, security and front desk and helpful, courteous engaging and authentically friendly. We will come back every year but will never “upgrade” to a suite without viewing it first. Overall very disappointed by the room. Glad we can go to the beach and wash away the bad taste of the poor accommodations with a swim.
