While the employees at Planet Hollywood were absolutely incredible, especially Henry, our Star Class Butler, management at Planet Hollywood could do a lot to improve the overall experience. Our extended family of 14 people was assured by Pleasant Holidays that we could eat all meals together. That is absolutely not the case. While Henry went above and beyond to make sure we could have a good group dining experience, most of the restaurants are small and simply can’t accommodate large groups. With that said most meals were of average quality with a few notable exceptions (the pizza at the Italian restaurant, the salmon at the Tex Mex restaurant and the chicken at the Hibachi restaurant). Again, the staff is what was far above average. Be prepared, this resort IS NOT handicap friendly. The extremely steep slope/walk from our room to the pools was so difficult to traverse, that Henry was concerned that the brakes on my rented electric scooter may not be able to handle it. Combine that with the very warm temperatures and high humidity, and it made for an almost impossible walk for my husband. The only people that were forced to walk the hill were the poor employees. I gave up on my scooter and used the resort golf carts and my cane. Needless to say, if you have bad knees, hips, or back,…. Be forewarned. PH presents themself as a family vacation. There were a lot of families there. The music blaring at the pool and playing during the nighttime entertainment was filled with profanity. With all of the music to choose from, it was disappointing. I don’t know what people did at nighttime as the pools were closed and there was limited entertainment. For it being Planet HOLLYWOOD , the movie selection was terrible. It would seem that they would have had numerous classic movies available. We loved the numerous birds, iguanas and monkeys. Six family members went on the early morning nature walk which was incredible. Two family members went the next day and it was very disappointing. The Palo Verde boat tour with Nexus and led by Franco was amazing. We were all absolutely blown away by the number of crocodiles, monkeys and birds we saw. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. In conclusion, if it weren’t for the employees at Planet Hollywood, and especially Henry, I think I would have given PH a 1 star rating. However, almost without exception, their employees were unbelievably kind, attentive, knowledgeable and hardworking. They are Planet Hollywood’s biggest asset.

2025 Family vacation costa rica
I recently enjoyed a stay at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica during our annual family gathering vacation. The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall, we had a great time. However, I did notice a few changes since my last visit three years ago. The new dining reservation app added some stress to the experience—it felt less personal and made it harder to connect directly with the butler or concierge team. On my previous visit, that personal touch really stood out, and our group received more attentive service tailored to our needs. We also paid extra for the Star Class, which is meant to offer VIP-level attention. Unfortunately, this time around, that elevated experience didn’t quite come through. There were also some inconsistencies in the information provided by staff, which added a bit of confusion during our stay. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our time at the resort and appreciated the beautiful setting and the opportunity to be together as a family.

This is a great resort. I highly recommend it. Beautiful grounds. Our Suite was Top Notch. The Staff was exceptional. Karolina and Irene took such great care of me and my Sister during our days lounging at the Star Class pool. The very best restaurant on the resort is the Sunset Strip Steak House. Try the Beef Brisket. Awesome We did several excursions..Nomad Tourscr He was super responsive and accommodating. We did Rain Forest which was our absolute favorite, zipline , Volcano Hike. We will miss the beach and the incredible sunsets! We adored the monkeys and iguanas on the property. We had such a fun time and will definitely be back! Pura Vida!

Food at East Sushi Bar was okay and small portion sized. But Marcos was excellent. He wanted us to have fun and kept the drinks flowing. Would eat every meal with him as our server!

Irene is the BEST!!
Irene was amazing. She was very attentive and made sure our group was taken care of. If I were to visit this resort again, I’m for sure requesting Irene’s service. She has played a huge part in making this trip memorable.
