We had a romantic beach dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The service at the front desk is terrible, absolutely the worst. Entertainment is zero! They don’t even play music at the adult pool. Food needs season! Mini bar and will be restock daily but you have to call for it. I literally asked for iron for 8 hours. Resort needs maintenance.

Awesome Resort! Tell your friends!
Amazing resort, highly Recommend upgrading to star class Adult Scene! Our butlers were awesome! The fact that you have to rent very expensive cabanas and pool side beds was a turnoff since we had already spent so much on the trip! They sat empty most of the time.

Don’t ignore the bad reviews like I did
I am here now and need to warn everyone about this resort. THIS IS AN HONEST REVIEW from someone who loves to travel to all inclusives with my family in the price range of $1000-$2500 Canadian per person around Cuba, Dominican and Mexico for reference on my experience. I’m going to highlight every detail on what is wrong with this resort because I regret not taking them seriously and want to save you guys the bad experience. I booked this place ignoring some of the bad reviews. I saw more positive then negative reviews and took a chance given everything looked good in photos and Costa Mejures is known to have brand new high quality resorts. DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY! I really tried being open minded through my whole trip but this place just markets well, it’s a complete disappointment. Let’s start with rooms 1. THEY SMELL LIKE MOLD AND DAMPNESS. I had to argue with front desk to put me in a room that doesn’t smell like MOLD because I am travelling with a 1 year old baby. They eventually after 2 hours of negotiating moved me into a somewhat better room with less dampness smell. The room still smells like MOLD are in the walls, although it’s not as strong as the original room I was supposed to be in. How is it that in Mexico at a 5 star resort that was recently built the rooms have dampness and MOLD. Unbelievable. 2. Everything is broken in the room. Literally everything. The lights on bathroom mirror don’t work, the phone didn’t work first day, the iron doesn’t work, the drawers for your clothes are broken and don’t pull out. They have very basic necessities just shampoo and body wash. Nothing more than that and a bar of soap. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that leave toothbrushes, floss, slippers, hair nets for guests. Nothing here but a bar of soap. There wasn’t even a blow dryer in my room and had to go take one from my moms room next door. Definitely no luxury feel to the rooms, the fridge is stocked with 3 cans of pop 2 Mexican branded beers and water. That’s it. (First day I didn’t even have water in my room until requested) the moisture in the room has affected so many details in the room. The room has cracks and desperate need of a paint job. Feels so ghetto everything looks so tacky and gimmicky from the hallways to the rooms. The photos are not authentic to what this place rally looks like in person. There are scratches all over the walls it is very poorly maintained inside and out. 3. I saw cockroaches in the hallway and my room is infested with ants. Literally small little ants everywhere they go on my clothes on my daughters toys. Everything. I asked to get the room sprayed. Didn’t seem to help much. I can post a photo to this review to show you what these bugs look like 4. Buffet and food around resort is mediocre. You won’t be starving and will be able to find food that you will like but you won’t be amazed and impressed by the food, it’s at a tipping point away from calling it awful. As for buffet - Same selections every night. No beef other than burgers and a pot of slow cooked pulled old beef for tacos. I stayed next door at Catalonia last year and at grilling station they had lamb chops, steak, every meat you can think of. They had pork chops and sausages. Cheapest meats you can see the resort really saves on costs. For seafood they have calamari and baby scallops every night which I enjoyed . Other than that they had TILIPIA for grilling again cheapest fish. No grouper, snapper, bass. The better fishes you would expect to enjoy in Mexico. There was No avocado FOUND this very strange for Mexico. There is no food on the beach ( for example like a paella station I’ve seen that before or bbq meets on the beach during lunch hour) nothing but dry burgers from burger joint that they bring to buffet later on. 1 buffet for a very large resort. 1 buffet for adults only side and family side. Lines are massive to enter for a table and to order food from grilling stations. GUSTO restaurant is okay but no one wants to go sit at a high end restaurant with dress code middle of day after pool and beach. Not ideal with kids. Pizza for takeout takes 45 minutes. Insane. Coffee shop has no pressed juices as marketed. When I got there they told me they don’t do them because they don’t have machine anymore. NO KIDS STATION other than macaroni and nuggets that don’t even look appetizing. No real station catered to kids for eating. 5. Big resort lots of walking no shuttle available. So strange. So many others things wrong but these are the big ones that stand out to me. The positives: Water slides for kids Trampoline park was a hit but everything is an extra cost keep that in mind Service was good 50% of time if you leave tip you will be treated nicely Certainly not coming back I have paid less in cancun and have stayed at way better resorts. Not worth the money at all.

An Enjoyable Week
The employees worked very hard to make you welcomed. There was a variety of restaurants and entertainment. Butlers helped with making reservations and requests. They asked if we were celebrating anything and sent us something on that day for our 35th anniversary. There was a pool for adults only and then a family pool with also a water park for kids. It was a wonderful time.

A great stay overall.
The resort is well cared for most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of options for restaurants and entertainment.a very huge word of caution. Our butlers Mafer and Juan were very attentive and professional and made the entire experience wonderful. Also special word to Harvey at the scene bar he is working hard with a variety of guest personalities. He was friendly and remembered us every night. One big exception. Our check in process was not good. After the standard check of passports and room charges review we were introduced to a vacation club agent (who we thought was our butler). We spent 20 minutes with her attempting to get us to commit to a meeting for vacation club options. We were never offered a drink and had been traveling all day and not eaten much. We were never offered a break for food or drink. That combined with waiting 2 hours for our luggage to be delivered to our room made for two very grumpy travelers that could have set an unfortunate tone for our stay. We happened to find our luggage sitting on a bellman cart in an elevator bay where anyone could have taken it for themselves. Our butler Mafer stepped in and helped us reset. Take it easy on vacation club sales tactics and when I entrust your staff with my luggage I expect it to be safe and efficiently delivered.
