Great resort to relax and getaway!
I wanted to getaway and celebrate my birthday at a resort which was adults only. So, I researched and found the Pineapple Beach Club in Antigua. I'm so glad that I did!! My wife and I had a WONDERFUL time! First and foremost, the staff was EXCELLENT (special shout-out to Vincent, who helped us relocate to another room due to the view!!). Everyone was friendly, customer-service focused, and more like a family than staff! They made sure that my birthday was a special memory . . . and it was! At PBC, they work hard to make sure that the customer is happy by planning daily activities (make sure that you take the roughly 30 minute tour when you get there!!) and encouraging involvement. The musical entertainments were fun! We also met some other couples who added to the fun. The FOOD was top notch! The Topaz is the general restaurant, which is covered, open-air seating. Just beware of the black birds and seagulls! Beyond that, the view while eating is great. The Pineapple Grill, Chef Pietro, and the Orchid (the Orchid requires an upcharge) are reservation only. Do that when you first get there!! My wife also purchased birthday dinner at the gazebo on the top of the hill. The food was great and our server, Yolanda, made sure that we were served well! Overall, high recommendations for Pineapple Beach Club and staff (Anita, Anika, and SO many more! We would not hesitate to go back again! Pineapple Beach Club is not just a resort, but almost a family! not hesitate to go back again! Pineapple Beach Club is not just a resort, but almost a family!

Wonderful 2 Week Stay at Pineapple Beach Club, Antigua
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay from March 15th through the 29th. Our Son joined us for the first week and had a great time as well. This resort is so relaxing. There is plenty to do if you want to keep busy or you can relax beachfront or poolside if that is what you wish. There are daily games and events to join in. You can even take Pickleball Lessons where the equipment is provided. The grounds are lush and well manicured. Nice white beach sand, and sparkling clean pools. We stayed in Room #232. Beachfront, second floor. A spacious room, with updated bathroom and vaulted ceiling. Our view was amazing! I would get up early each day and open the patio door to hear the waves. My son stayed in Room #731 which was a 3rd floor Oceanview Room. End unit with fantastic view of the Ocean, but was up quite a few stairs. If you are mobility challenged, this room category is not for you. Room Service is every other day, which is enough. If you wish anything you can always call down and ask. You are provided with a couple bottles of water when you check into your room, but there is lots of filtered drinking water around, so take a Bubba with you for refills if you want more. The food was fabulous. Check out “The Outhouse” up on the hill for some BBQ ribs, chicken and salads etc. It is a bit of a walk up but the vibe and view is fabulous! You can also take a buggy up and the walk down is easy. There are so many signs posted up there with guest names and dates of visits. Bring your own sign and nail it up there.. The Topaz Buffet was open for 3 meals a day, and they had so many options and you didn’t need a reservation. Reservations for the Al la Cartes are made through Guest Services, 48 hours in advance. Chef Pietro’s is the Italian Restaurant, Pineapple Grill for steak & seafood, and there was also the Orchid which had an upcharge of $40. US per person. Lobster was an extra $15. Their French Onion Soup was to die for. Puff Pastry on top which was quite the showpiece. Men must wear long pants and closed toe shoes for this restaurant. Our favourite though was the Pineapple Grill where men could wear a pair of nice shorts and sandals. Note: As there are “Theme Nights”, make sure you plan your dinner reservations around them. You don’t want to miss these! Every Wednesday night there is a White Party in the garden area behind the Beachfront Rooms. Alternating Friday nights, there is either a Street Party next to the main Lobby Bar, or a Beach Party along the beachfront. They are spectacular, in both set up and foodwise. White linen table cloths, and endless food set up as Buffet Style. Champagne, Wine, and Drink Service right to your table. . They surely know how to do it up right for their Guests. Live music and saxophone player for entertainment. They also have a Repeat Guest cocktail hour, and Manager’s Cocktail hour too. Special activities are posted daily around the resort and bar areas. Don’t forget to check out Café 1761. Great specialty coffees here, as well as pastries, fruit cups, and even great ice cream. We loved the Lemon Ginger Detox each day. As guests we were able to get day passes, or dinner passes to go to the Verandah next door, which is their sister Resort. You can call for a Buggy to take you over as it can be a long walk. We had lunch and dinner at Sails ‘n Tails. The food was good there too. You are provided beach towels in your room upon arrival. People were up by 6 am reserving their “favourite” spot on the beach or poolside. Some would take extra towels from the towel cupboard and save numerous spots just in case they wanted to move around between pool and beach. As a result, some spots were never sat in which led to a towel shortage and too many spots reserved that could have been used by people for the day. Don’t be these people!! And please, don’t be a slob and leave your towels on your chair after use. There are “used” towel bins everywhere. No excuse to not pick up after yourself. Pineapple beach Club has a “Turtle Sanctuary” on the property. You can watch them in their enclosure moving around and watching them feed. From babies to the large Guys. Snorkeling is great off of the end of the beach along the right side looking at the ocean. You can take out the Hobie Cats, or kayaks. We took the big Hobie out with Super Mario. It was so much fun. Check out the Long Bay Vendor’s Mall which is next to the resort. You can find great gifts and souvenirs to take home with you here. We arranged an excursion to “Stingray City” through Mr. G on the beach. He is there daily from around 10 – 1:00. I loved this so much. We got to swim with them and also feed them. What an amazing experience! A must do! My husband booked a double tank Scuba Dive this through Marvin who is also on the beach beside Mr. G. We met some fabulous people during our 2 week stay. A group of 8 Ladies celebrating long-term friendships and their 70th Birthdays. We got them up dancing and they were so much fun! Friendships were made. Each night there is a DJ or live music in the Lobby Bar. Anne Marie (Fun Queen) was the Entertainment Director and was always around to get the crowd going. The weather was great during our stay. We had a bit of rain, but it only lasts a few minutes and then it is clear and hot again. The only negative here is the room charge you pay at the end of your stay,so you need to factor this in. It is $24. Per night per room and an additional $5. Per person per day. It does add up when you stay for 14 days. It was an extra $476.00 added on to our bill and had to be paid on checkout. I wish they would just include some of this in the booking fee as it is kinda ridiculous. The staff are all amazing here! I cannot say enough about them. Each and every one of them went out of their way to treat you as “Family”. We usually stay in 5 star resorts, but this 4 Star Resort is rated highly, and I found it to have better service than most 5 stars. From the vibe to the Staff here, I would most definitely go back. Already planning our next visit. Just go and enjoy!

WOULD HAVE BEEN HEAVEN IF NOT FOR HUMANITY
We have just returned home after another two weeks at the hotel, which we still regard as a wonderful place for our holidays, but this time there were a few issues which didn't always sit well with us. Firstly, the staff are wonderful. I am so sorry that the hotel have stopped giving out feedback forms, because we now can't name those staff who go the extra mile; does that mean they won't be getting feedback on those who are contributing to the whole visitor experience? So I want to name Stacey-Ann, Shakira, Nicola and Kai in the Topaz restaurant, and Clovis and Bashi who are bar staff for always going the extra mile. Egbert and Kevin, two of the managers are always visible, seeing what needs to be done before you ask, and generally they keep everything going really well. We ate mostly at the Topaz restaurant, a place that would be unlikely to earn a Michelin star, but the food was plentiful, warm and quite acceptable, which is more than can be said for some of the patrons. Like the entitled people who stroll in as if they were about to bless us with their presence, until, shock and horror, the window seats were full. You could see the exact moment they realised they were being asked to sit amongst the commoners! The look on their faces! like someone had offered a table inside a skip. Without a word, retreating to the bar with all the grace of a toddler being told "no". And there they were; parked on bar stools, brooding, sipping their drinks and scanning the restaurant like disappointed royalty, waiting for a peasant uprising. Eventually the manager went to fetch them when a table worthy of their backsides became free, presumably while apologising for the unforgivable hardship of temporary normality.. I'm only an amateur psychologist, so I've been trying to work out ever since. What is it about a window seat that I don't appreciate? Does the food taste better with a vague view of a darkened shoreline? Because unless the view includes fireworks, dolphins doing synchronised tricks, or Jesus himself walking across the water to deliver your drinks, it's just a window with some sand and sea outside. We didn't get the room we requested on the ground floor of the 200 block at first so we were put in Room 105, still a beachfront room. There is absolutely no comparison between the 100 and 200 block rooms, which are far superior. I can't see why they are all rated the same. I think the 100 block should be Beachfront Rooms and Block 200 Superior Beachfront rooms. They are vastly different. Its great that the hotel have progressed to using QR codes on check in. But I wonder how long it's going to be before they extend the facility, so that instead of having to queue at the Guest services desk every morning, why don't they put the restaurant bookings also onto their electronic system? I realise that not everybody has a mobile phone, so they would have to have a backup system in place. But it would certainly make life easier. This resort is postcard perfect. However, as any seasoned traveller knows, you don't just share the resort with the views; you share it with other humans.. And that's where the plot thickens. Now I'm all for lively conversation, but the restaurant occasionally turned into what I can only describe as an auditory performance piece, starring some of our Transatlantic cousins. I'm fairly sure I now know the entire itinerary of the family at the table next to me, including what mother thinks of the seafood. Around the pool. Things got a bit Hitchcockian. When snack remnants are left behind, the local bird life treats it like a 5 star buffet. It's nature's way of reminding us to bin our chips or be swarmed by seagulls. And please fellow guests. If you've done with your sunbed, perhaps take your towel with you. The Infinity pool got very busy during the day, especially with the many visitors coming over from the Verandah. Isn't it just thoughtless to walk away and not dispose of your used towels? All this said, we had a wonderful time, made all the more memorable by the setting, the service of wonderful staff, and the many stories we will be telling. But a gentle reminder that paradise works best when everyone plays their part.

Bring your wallet
The resort needs updating, the people were great most of them. The food was average except for the pineapples which were awesome, booked a tour on my 1st day for 5 days out, was told it was overbooked, we were leaving the next day, so no way to go on the only thing we booked. Gym looked great in pictures, not cleaned or repaired. Called 3x to get water in our superior ocean view room, ya ok! (Don’t be in a hurry for anything and have lots of cash!)

Would return in the future. Great place.
Stayed at the resort for 8 nights in late April and early May. We had given this place consideration for a stay many times over the years, but decided on less pricey alternatives (i.e. Mexico). Now that we're retired and financially independent, we decided to give it a go here. Glad we did, because we weren't disappointed. Certainly deserving of its 4+ rating. As with any tropical resort, it's not without its flaws (mostly picayune, but worth mentioning in the spirit of improvement). The definitive pluses: The place is clean as a whistle and grounds are nearly flawless. There are people working at this every single day. The food (no one can reasonably expect gourmet food at all-inclusives) is decent and plentiful. Even the pickiest of eaters can find something good at most hours of the day. The buffet restaurant is pretty standard. The specialty restaurants must be reserved. The barbecue restaurant is excellent (open for lunch only, with ribs to DIE for. A must if you love barbecue). The Italian restaurant is the only indoor, air-conditioned restaurant. The meal was leisurely and the food surprisingly good. The waitstaff are constantly topping off the wine glasses. Very nice. Definitely would return here. The 6:30am opening time for the coffee shop is a definite plus, and the coffee is great. There are 3 bars. The pours are generous, and the beer (an excellent local brew, BTW) is always cold. You can get any kind of a drink you want at most of the restaurants. The beach is beautiful. And constantly being groomed of seaweed. The pool areas (there are 3) are among the best and most beautiful that I have seen at any resort I have visited. Chairs are plentiful at pools and the beach. The waterfront rooms (the most expensive category) are very nice and the balconies have spectacular views. Worth springing for if you can afford it. The help were unfailingly nice and polite at all times. They are a credit to the resort. MY picayune issues: At breakfast, no tomato juice is offered. Never any explanation as to why. Would love to see croissants offered as well. Condiments (ketchup?) need to be offered for those (like me) who use it on potatoes and eggs. PLEASE cook the bacon more thoroughly (in the obvious interest of expediency, the cooks throw a few rashers of bacon on the griddle, barely brown them and don't bother separating the strips). Watch out for starlings and jays trying to steal your food. At dinner buffet, please man a carving station (to keep the meat fresh and moist) instead of carving the entire roast and leaving it to dry out under a heat lamp (BTW, not all of us are from the UK (who generally prefer their meat to be done medium well). Beef and lamb should be done medium at worst, and medium rare is far more preferable). The Pineapple Grill specialty restaurant, while good, has an insect issue (small flying things covering the tables). This is not charming. They need to consider screens. Bad enough problem that we wouldn't dine there again. The steakhouse restaurant (only open Tuesday and Thursday) for some inexplicable reason, tacks a surcharge of $40 per person on to the tab to dine there. We avoided it for that very reason (this is all-inclusive resort, so what is the point?). You can get freshly cooked beef at the buffet and pay nothing extra. You need to save your seats early at the beach and pools if you want the chairs you prefer. The waterfront rooms are clearly the oldest rooms at the resort and need some serious updating. The walls and floors weep with humidity (somewhat alleviated with the AC on). The TV needs to be updated and put in an area where you can actually watch it from your bed (it's tucked in a recessed cabinet at the corner of the room near the balcony sliders). The rooms/towels are cleaned and refreshed only every other day instead of daily. The guests are provided with only two small bottles of water and no more. You have to pay for it at the gift shop if you want more water. Also, this is the only all-inclusive we've ever been to where the refrigerators are tiny and not stocked with beer, soft drinks, and water daily (without having to pay extra for it). It's short money. This policy needs to be revised. The balcony has a small love seat (and uncomfortable) sized couch with a small glass table. This takes up only half of the lanai area. The rest is empty. It looks weird. There should be a couple of single chairs with a small table out there as well. The doors and sliders need replacing as they're hard to open and close (because they're swollen from the humidity). NOTE: I have been told by several employees that the resort will close during July and August of 2025 for a complete renovation of the waterfront rooms building and other areas in the resort. The main bar, while having 3 sides, only has seats on one of the sides. I understand the need for space for waitstaff from the restaurants to order drinks, plus walk-ups from the beach and pool areas. Why not knock out one of the back walls for walk-ups? The lack of bar seats makes no sense to me. I can't speak to the nightly entertainment one way or another, as we were usually back to our room by 9:30pm. I also can't speak about the daily activities as we never partook of them. Lastly, while the general concept of an all-inclusive resort is to be "cash-free" (including tipping) for the guests, this is not reality. If you want good service, you need to infrequently tip the waitstaff. A couple of dollars handed to your server here and there will go a long way toward being served quicker and more cheerfully at the bars and restaurants. I suggest bringing plenty of $1s (US) and a few $5s. This is not a criticism, but guests should know that the warnings about the sargassum in the Atlantic and the Caribbean are very real. We experienced that on the last two full days that we were there. While the ground crew makes a valiant effort to clean the beach, it is almost impossible to stop. The sargassum isn't always there but when it is, it comes with a vengeance, especially when there is an off-shore storm. This place isn't perfect. However, while we have been to at least 20 different all-inclusives in various countries over the years), it came pretty close. We liked it enough that we are strongly considering returning next year, and would recommend it to people who are considering going to Antigua.
