The trip to Oleo CANCÚN was so relaxing the view from our room was beyond what i was expecting!
The service at Hakka was wonderful we had Marcellino as our server, he was very friendly and polite! I can’t say enough about the delicious food we had here We tried all 3 of the Vegetarian Rolls and the Pad Thai was out of this world! Thanks team

Amazing Resort with great care of guests!
We had a blast at Oleo! Room service was good, drinks weren’t watered down, plenty of restaurant choices with great menus. Cleanliness was 10/10, comfy bed & pillows. Large beach access and pools. Ramsēs and Gustavo took great care of us!!! They made sure our stay was great and all the workers on the resort made sure our requests were fulfilled any time we asked. There is a currency exchange desk onsite in the lobby, this was great for breaking down existing pesos or exchanging our home currency. Again, Ramsēs and Gustavo took very good care of us.

Oleo - worth the stay
Oleo was a lovely and relaxing resort. The service was outstanding! The waiter Roberto in the pool area was the BEST; we never waited for a drink and food was prompt. Antonio, aka Chocolatte, and Romero/Romeo? created many fun-filled days of pool activities and entertainment. They were both friendly and funny, and Antonio interacted with guests and got to know their names and where everybody was from. Enrique and the boy with the glasses in the lobby bar were so much fun as well; our drinks were never empty and Enrique has great comedic commentary and timing. I loved how we could get bottled water anywhere when needed, and our room was always stocked up with water, pop, and beer. The food was the best all-inclusive resort food I have ever had. We had a wonderful waiter at the breakfast buffet who had our morning drink order ready as we sat down. Our Sunset Suite room (1907) had a beautiful lagoon and ocean view, but a few small maintenance issues with the room and that the resort is not smoke free made me give Oleo an overall 4/5. The curtains were broken in one area of our room, so it was hard to darken the room to sleep in. As well, most nights and some times during the day, our room would smell like strong cigarette smoke. I’m not sure if it was a ventilation issue or an adjoining room had someone smoking, but I thought the resort was smoke/vape free? Also, all smoking and vaping was to be done outside in front of the resort grounds, but many people vaped in the lobby bar and around the pool. I did not appreciate that at all. Other than that, a great experience!

Our little slice of paradise in Cancun!
First let me say that I have been traveling to Cancun to vacation for the last 30 years and have stayed at numerous resorts in the "Hotel Zone" always seeking that special place that makes me want to come back. My most recent find is the Oleo. A charming boutique resort (meaning smaller) located on a beautiful stretch of sandy beach with amazing views of both the Caribbean Sea and sunsets over the lagoon. This is an older resort, a bit dated, but well maintained and very, very clean. The older style adds to it's charm. While slightly off putting at first, the nostalgic feel grew on me after a few days and added to the overall experience. By the end of the first week we visited (back in November 2024) we had already decided to return in February 2025! We have now booked our 3rd trip to Oleo Cancun and will be there at the end of May 2025. Here is a summary of what I love about this place: Location, Location, Location - great spot, close to airport which means you start your vacation sooner. Service: impeccable ! Later in this review I will give special mentions to servers that I got to know. However, overall, the service from room maintenance to restaurants, beach service, bar service are all fantastic! Some of the hardest working people I have seen and always delivered with a great big smile. (please tip well, they deserve it !) Rooms: Clean, well maintained. Upgrade to the Inspira package for a few dollars more and enjoy the beautiful views and reserved beach area. Worth it ! Restaurants: Food was good for All inclusive. My only suggestion is to change up the menus nightly. Having the same menu everyday gets a bit old, but the food itself was good. Pool: small pool area (we are beach people so it doesn’t matter much to us). If you are Pool-only people, this will probably not meet your needs. Entertainment is OK, but the mexican-techno nightclub music is not something I look forward to. We’re in the tropics, not a nightclub. How about some Caribbean kettle drums once in a while Rambo, hmm ? (we love Rambo) Beach: Cleaned free of seaweed daily. Well-guarded by lifeguards so you can feel safe out in the ocean. I actually witnessed several rescues during our stays. Umbrellas are accessible using the typical save-your-chair-with-a-towel method that is standard at ANY resort. Get there early! If the water is too rough it’s a short beach-walk south to calmer water - a big plus for us. Bars/drinks: drinks are typical all-inclusive quality. However, if you're picky and want it made “just right” they will happily accommodate your desires. Nightlife: none to speak of. Just Lobby bar with - you guessed it, more techno bass-pounding disco (just in case you haven’t had enough by the pool all day). The evening entertainment on some evenings might be a saxophonist or perhaps a couple of singers and maybe Karaoke one night. But in between or before the main performance , it’s always BOOM,BOOM,BOOM,BOOM disco techno. Most people sit and tolerate it, others just leave. I suggest “theme nights” 80’s, 90’s,pop night, caribbean night, Salsa night, Trivia night etc .. Now it’s time for some special mentions: First out Concierge/ Hotel Manager Julia. She leads by example with a huge smile everytime we meet. We see her throughout the resort checking on the goings-on and supporting her team. I believe excellent service starts at the top and the staff here has an excellent leader. Next, Abad at the beach/pool. What an extremely hard worker! There were times where he was stretched a bit thin and I could see him running to keep up. Even during those busy times Abad always kept a smile and did his best to provide timely service with a smile. Thank you Abad! Our breakfast waiters, Mariano and Ham are always cheerful and attentive. Crispin at the Hakka restaurant was always pleasant, quick and made some great suggestions for us that we enjoyed. He leaves a lasting impression. Jeraldo (Jerry) at the Lobby bar - BEST Margaritas! We are heading back to Oleo this May. I’ll update you all again following this trip !

Amazing
Great food, clean resort, staff were great! By far the best part was Antonio “chocolaté” with the entertainment during the day! He was so much fun and brought so much energy! He remembered everyone’s name from the previous days making it more personal!
