Lovely hotel, shame about the daily fight for sun loungers
O2 is actually a nice hotel. Food and drink “all inclusive” offering is very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Biggest gripe, which is echoed by many others we met, is the reserving of sun loungers. Often from early in the morning and not sat on for hours and hours. This isn’t a sprawling resort, so it can lead to no available beds at swimming pool level and beach. There are several signs saying “Absolutely no reserving of sun loungers”, but that is totally disregarded by many customers and all staff. Just lip service really! It also states on their website/app that beds reserved and not used for a certain amount of time will have belongings removed. This simply doesn’t happen. We are currently 12 days into a 14 day holiday and every day without fail from 6am people are reserving loungers. Would put me off coming back.

Felt like family - with a great mix of food, service, smiles and relaxation!
Excellent stay, the staff is amazing & friendly- no matter which area of the property. Nice rooms with a great ocean view. The chef cooked up our freshly caught Wahoo & exceeded our expectations!! Meals were good, nice way to get a local flavor while trying new foods! Resort didn’t feel crowded. Great stay!

Fantastic staff but the management needs to buck their ideas up
This was our second visit to the O2 and while the staff were fantastic, and the food and drink plentiful, we felt it had gone subtly downhill in the previous year. When we arrived there were not enough sunbeds or umbrellas. This led to a mad dash for beds at 7am in the morning. Some of the sunbeds and umbrellas that were available were coming apart. A 5 star resort should make sure they have a sunbed and umbrella for every guest. On the rooftop terrace, the hot tubs were out of order, something we only discovered after we had been in (the pumps worked, but the water didn't heat). The management should have put up a sign to warn guests. On my 2025 visit, I had enjoyed watching the football at the pool bar but the TV had been taken away. As I said, the food (especially at Oro) was excellent. But we did have one experience that increased my doubts about the management. One night at Elements, I asked for one of the four white wines listed on the menu. The waitress said there was only a choice of two. As it happened, a manager stopped by our table a few minutes later. We mentioned the problems we had seen re sunbeds etc; we also mentioned the reduced wine options. Five minutes later, she returned and plonked four bottles down on the table to demonstrate the choice. The wine we had asked for wasn't there and this demonstration didn't explain why we had been offered only two wines in the first place. But it demonstrated a defensive attitude that wanted to prove the customers wrong, rather than make them happy. We were also surprised that, in the two days before we left, we weren't contacted by the management about the other issues. Despite the above problems, this is still a lovely spot and the bar and dining staff were all helpful and delightful to deal with. They deserve five stars but the management needs to buck up and invest more in maintaining the property.

Relaxation in Barbados
I had the pleasure of visiting the peaceful Island of Barbados and the opportunity to stay at this resort. The staff were warm and welcoming upon my arrival! The resort has 4 restaurants which I highly recommend making reservations prior to your arrival because they become booked fast especially on the weekends! My room was like a one bedroom apartment with a huge shower and excellent views of the ocean. Like numerous resorts in the Caribbean, people reserve the lounge chairs extra early and disappear for 3-4 hours leaving other guests without the ability to enjoy the pool or ocean in a lounge chair! The staff will try their best to find you an unoccupied spot but I wish people were more considerate! The beach has strong waves and is somewhat rocky as you venture further from shore but you can enjoy it probably up to your knees depending on your height! Breakfast is only served until 10am, so if you want to enjoy it , no sleeping in. The food was tasty and provided some local cuisine. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable. The greatest strength of this resort is quietness and tranquility. By 10pm every night including weekends it was a ghost town. If you’re looking to party hearty this resort isn’t for you but if you want to chill book your stay!

Fabulous stay over Christmas!
I stayed here with my 22 year old daughter over Christmas. We had such a fabulous time! The greeting at reception was wonderful, check-in was efficient & friendly. Ok, we were in the older part but we had a huge double bathroom & a superb walk in shower with fantastic hot water pressure (one of my pet hates is trickle water in the shower!!) plus lovely big thick towels to wrap around (loved that). Christmas Day was really fun, laughing with ‘Santa’ having a boogie after arriving on a jet ski. The food/service/choice was great, management were around the pool, lovely to speak with the interim hotel manager checking in to see how we were doing (rarely see that in hotels!) Activities like a fashion show with the staff involved were fun & social events. Everything felt chilled, fabulous coffee shop where you could help yourself to coffee machine or have a barista cup made for you (& a decent large cup), plus snacks you could help yourself to rather than faffing around waiting for somebody to serve you. The roof top gourmet restaurant is something else - superb! Add to this its beachfront & the doorstep of St Lawrence Gap. We then went to stay at Waves Hotel on the West, don’t bother- none of the above!
