A jewel in Barbados
The hotel was truly magnificent with excellent food, rooms, spa and wonderful friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our new year stay a special one. I can’t wait to go back!

light and sound pollution in the bedroom and difficult to get a resolution without really pushing - food good though!
If you prefer a dark room to sleep in this is not your hotel. The bedrooms are at the back of your 'suite' with windows that face the corridor - there are no fabric curtains nor black out blinds so the light from the corridor light up the bedroom quite spectacularly. All night. The solution would of course be to put black out curtains up (net curtains are there already) . Perhaps that will happen in due course so check the hotel photos carefully. If you do have a problem with anything (we had noise from the air con pump) my advice is to to keep trying to get a solution - you will get there in the end after a few brush offs - it does rather take away from the relaxing experience though - no-one likes to complain on holiday! Final tip is get up early to reserve a sunbed with an umbrella - sit there until you get said umbrella as there not enough to go around. Food is good though and proximity to the Gap - Sharkeys definitely worth a visit.

Cute Boutique Hotel- with the friendliest staff.
This boutique hotel is super cute. The staff were fabulous- they made sure we had everything we needed. With it being a smaller hotel they only have 4 restaurants to eat ate so if you are staying more than 4 days you will be eating at the same places. This also goes for lunch- not many choices to choose from- a buffet each day at one spot and the same menu at the other. The average age of most of the guests was 65+ so if you are looking for a younger vibe this is not the resort for you. If you enjoy hanging out in the water you will not be able to do that here- because of the location the water is never calm- constant waves - great for body suffering and suffering but you can not just float or hang out in the water. We stayed in a swim up room in the adults only building- the room was nice but the down side was that staff would roll carts down the hallway in the morning and evening which was very loud. Unless you are on the ocean side with these rooms types of rooms you will have the same issue. Overall we enjoyed our stay 4 nights/3days.

Needs better front office staff
The hotel is fine enough, but we had such a horrible experience with the font desk that it really put a dampener on the holiday. Check in took over an hour, which was hard work having already been travelling for 14 hours. Everytime I asked the staff member (Jill) what was taking so long she just grumbled something and went back to the screen. Eventually she told me it was because we had arrived before the other couple we were staying with and she couldn't figure out how to work the card reader to take half the payment. I was so annoyed it ruined the first day. We also had the same level of grief with the same staff member later on in the week when we tried to arrange late checkout and then to book a cab to the airport. To be fair to the hotel I just gave up with her after 10 minutes and came back later when someone else was on the desk and it was arranged in under a minute. I have to say the penthouse we stayed in had a lovely view and the sing-a-long in Oro was fun.

Worth the trip!
Really enjoyed our time at O2. We stayed in a two bedroom penthouse for a week with friends. The room was nice and well equipped. The views were stunning. Special shout out to Nikita, our housekeeper. She has a special spirit of hospitality and took great care of us! Eat at Oro. It’s a great experience. If you do, ask for Channel - she’s an absolute joy. Final shout out to Yvonne who works at both Bluefin and Elements. She is a hard worker and exudes kindness. O2 has some typical all inclusive challenges, but does it better than many. They are well staffed, the food is decent (Oro’s food is good!), the property is well maintained, and location is good.
