Need cleaning from top to bottom
Ok but needs sanitised, lots of sick people and poor conditions, the adults pools people drinking heavy and not getting to wee. The dinning although lots of options none of which have any hand sanitizer. The Mayan dinner was a complete waste of money. The rooms are a great size and well cleaned replace products everytime. Take your own hand sanitizer and clean your cutlery.

If you are a big group… don’t do it. Move on to the next resort
We recently stayed at Ocean Riviera Paradise for 7 nights and wanted to share a detailed and honest review of our experience. The Pros: • The keycard being built into your bracelet was a great touch—very convenient. • Airport transfers were included with our booking, which made arrival and departure easy. • The variety of food options was impressive: ice cream, crepes, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, steakhouse, and more. The buffet was above average compared to other all-inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at. • The coffee shop had a wide range of drinks and specialty coffees. • The nightly entertainment was fun and varied—similar to what you’d find on a cruise ship. • We upgraded to one of their rooftop rooms and loved the added outdoor space. The rooftop tub took about an hour to fill, and the door upstairs didn’t fully seal, which affected the airflow and made the room warmer, but overall it was still a great feature. • Having a pool directly on the beach was a nice bonus. • While we didn’t use it, the kids’ waterpark area looked great for young families. • There’s an amazing massage place just next door on the beach, accessible from the sand. Highly recommended. The Cons: • Unfortunately, they do not cater to groups at all. We booked 9 rooms and not once were we able to eat as a group during our entire stay. This was very disappointing, especially given how much we spent. • The resort has many strict and inflexible rules. For example, at the beachside restaurant, you can’t join family already eating—you must be seated separately. Shirts, shoes, and pants are required to enter even from the beach, and if you try to go to the bathroom inside without shoes, you’ll be asked to walk all the way around. You also cannot take food to go, even if it’s just a bite left on your dessert plate. I literally had to hold a piece of cake in my hand. • Room assignments were not honored. Despite requesting two double beds for our adult children and cousins, they were placed in king rooms. Some rooms were upgraded, but they were randomly assigned, and ironically the upgrades went to the young adults instead of the parents who paid for the trip. As a travel agent, I had communicated with the hotel multiple times beforehand, but it didn’t help. • Most of the resort was uncomfortably hot. Only the lobby and piano bar had decent air conditioning. The rest of the resort—including restaurants, common areas, and most of our rooms—was consistently between 78–85 degrees. We couldn’t get our room temperature lower than 75, and everyone in our group noticed it. • The beach is nearly gone. In many areas there’s only about five feet of sand between the chairs and the water. Seaweed was piled several feet high in places. While the staff worked hard to clean it, the smell was overpowering. Beach chairs were packed so tightly together it was hard to get in and out. • To dine at many of the specialty restaurants, you had to wait in long lines early in the morning to get reservations. Some restaurants allowed online reservations, but only if you were given the correct code at check-in—which they don’t tell you is important. Make sure to ask for it and keep track. • The coffee shop was always busy. With only two employees working, the line often took close to an hour. • The nightclub has potential but the DJ didn’t read the room. He mostly played techno music no one was dancing to. Once he started taking requests, the vibe improved briefly, but then he’d go right back to unpopular music. • Check-in took over an hour. For a resort of this size, they really need a more efficient system or an online pre-check-in option. • Food quality was inconsistent. One night we had fantastic brisket with large portions. Two nights later, we ordered the same dish and received a tough, small serving that tasted completely different. Final Thoughts: The resort has some strong positives and fun features, especially for couples or smaller groups. But if you’re traveling with a group or looking for flexibility and consistency in service, this may not be the best choice. The strict rules and lack of group accommodation were major drawbacks for our trip. With a few operational changes, this place could be excellent—but as it stands, we’d hesitate to return.

Amazing resort worth revisiting
Arrived in this resort for a 2 week holiday finishing tomorrow. Paid for the privilege rooms and although the rooms are not much different than the rest of the resort the service definitely is. We have loved this holiday and really don’t have any down points, yeah there may be a chipped tile here or there but I have seen constant maintenance fixing things and this is expected of a resort servicing many thousands of people every year. The hotel grounds are really good and there is lots of nature, moneys, raccoons, coati’s, monkeys, turtles and gators. The buffet has a great selection though isn’t as good as the restaurants but that’s expected as everything is cooked to order in the restaurant. Route 66 is standard American fair and is ok the Mexican is standard Mexican affair and also nice for a night. The Italian is good and has something for all the family, then we have the steakhouse which is what is says on the tin and is great for a steak night. Sakura is a great show with a fixed menu serving tepenyaki. Best restaurant is the privilege which is amazing every night for breakfast lunch and dinner but check everything out as there is something for every pallet. Where this place really excels is its service I thought it was amazing we had Rosa as our butler and she was amazing and because of her we are looking at coming again, she is always happy, give great information, contacts us every morning and sorts out all our needs for the room and restaurants in some ways we would be lost without her and she makes like our 2 weeks so easy. She never disappoints and I am kinda sad I am leaving her behind. Angel, Reyes and Miguel at the privilege bar are amazing, they work so hard, bringing a great balance of drunkenness and camaraderie to the bar without letting anyone get out of control, a real skill and done always with a smile, I really enjoyed their bar banter. Anairani who was the pool waitress was also so attentive and funny, loved our short chats and that girl must walk a marathon everyday serving people. She was amazing! Lastly is Fidel from the main bar in the lobby in the evening, he was also amazing and works like a trooper as they all do, he was always helpful, quick and smiling when ever we came to the bar. So many people we could mention in the background keeping things running but these are the names that have stuck and made our stay exceptional. Cannot wait for out next visit!!

Amazing experience!
This is our second stay at this resort. We were just here a few weeks ago and we chose to come back when we had the opportunity. The staff here is amazing. Jennifer and David at the privilege reception desk take such good care of welcoming you and getting you settled in. The food is our favorite part and I’ve been wanting to come back for the pizza at Pez Vela, omg! The view from that restaurant is so peaceful. The privilege service is 100% worth it. The privilege pool is big and beautiful and we have never had an issue getting chairs, unlike other resorts. We have already reserved 3 rooms for Christmas to bring the family. We highly recommend and feel like this place is a hidden GEM!
