Everything was great! Room big and clean ..mikes coffee excellent.. Food at Buffet was great always something different. Pools are great but we’re beach people no problem to find chairs.

Feb 02, 2026Noise cancelling headphones are a must!
On paper this should be a 5* resort. Positives are the condition and cleanliness of the grounds and how all of the resort staff are very smart. Our room was spacious with very good air conditioning but the bathroom room door did not shut as it was too big for the frame and although there was good storage there were not many coat hangers ( our requests for more were ignored). Mike’s coffee shop was great - a highlight of the day! The overall impression of the resort is that it felt more like an 18-30’s holiday as the noise was constant. The pool areas were quiet and relaxing for a few hours in the morning (Daniel in the privilege pool area was excellent - always smiling and helpful) but after this loud music was continuous. The restaurants were very disappointing- food although adequate was certainly not 5* and the service was very hit and miss. On one occasion my husband’s plate was cleared and mine was about to be but our waiter decided to go and have a quick chat with a colleague in the middle of clearing our table. The restaurants were incredibly noisy and felt more like a canteen than a restaurant. We only had one course in the Mexican as the noise levels made talking impossible. Also we found the lighting levels far too bright, if you hope for a romantic or quiet meal then you will be disappointed. We actually went to local restaurants on two occasions despite being all inclusive. The piano bar is a nice touch if you want peace and quiet but on one occasion even this was ruined by a group of drunk Americans being rowdy ( a common occurrence in this resort). As opting for the privilege service we could have breakfast outside overlooking the sea which was lovely - thankyou Elvin and Sindi for looking after us. We also had lunch here - thank you Amber for remembering what drinks we had and bringing us a beer and glass of rose wine without being asked. The beach area was disappointing as there was a lot of seaweed and by the afternoon it was very crowded. The hotel advertises a ‘do not reserve sun bed’ policy which is completely ignored. If you want to choose a sunbed then be prepared to get up early to put your towel on one (this was in the privilege sections as well). We will not be returning as we prefer our holidays to be more relaxing in resorts that have consistent high service.

Lovely beach bar
Absolutely loved Ramon and Juana Beach Bar at Ocean Blue and Sand! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, right by the beach with stunning views. Ramon and Juana are incredibly friendly and make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. The drinks are fresh and perfectly made, the service is excellent, and it’s the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy the ocean breeze, and soak up the true Caribbean vibe. A must-visit when staying at Ocean Blue and Sand – we’ll definitely be back!

It was my second trip to Ocean Blue and Sand Resort for two weeks. I really enjoyed my stay there, but there was a little hiccup; it tipped the scales for me. The music was way too loud by the pool. The ground was resonating, and this took the fun out of the music. Also, when we arrived, due to the bad weather at the departure point, we landed around midnight. The shuttle bus driver turned the music way up. On my part, this is the last thing I need at 1:00 am when I am half asleep. The passengers were looking and winking at each other, talking "silently". The same applies to the dining room and restaurants. Can not even talk to your travelling companion. I will return to Punta Cana again, but I will choose a different resort. Otherwise, I have no complaint.
