  An Honest Review - WE LOVED IT HERE

  We stayed at OBS from Jan 20-27. We did not have privilege. Key highlights: not an overly large resort, great food and staff, well kept and clean. We arrived later in day around 8pm. The check in process was easy and smooth. Prior to arrival I did email to request a ground floor room and to ensure we would have a crib upon arrival given we were arriving later and close to our childs bedtime. We were accommodated with a ground floor room and advised to call for a crib once we got to our room. We were in block 4. Upon entering our room I was pleasantly surprised the crib was already there and set up. We were very pleased with our room overall. It was very clean, the bathroom was beautiful. We had no issues with any excess moisture or smell of mold that I’ve read others complain of. We did have a leak of some water from the air conditioner but we cleaned it and the issue did not recur. The AC in the room was great. The bar fridge was restocked daily and any additional requests we made were fulfilled. The maid staff was great and our room was thoroughly cleaned. We were very happy with the location of our room. We were steps from the pool. Halfway between the beach and the lobby. During our trip we were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary. We spoke to guest services and they were kind enough to pre-book us a reservation for our anniversary dinner. Food Review: Breakfast buffet: The food was the same daily but I have no complaints. It was delicious. The buffet was always replenished with fresh food. We really enjoyed the bacon, it was very similar to home. The omelette bar was so delicious and always a plus to have. They had fresh crepes. We loved that they had a large jug of Nutella! The french toast was so good too. We ate great every breakfast. Lunch & Dinner Buffet: Every day there was a different selection of food. They had some of the same items daily but a large option of different items. We loved it and ate amazing every meal. I’m Route 66: They brought all the tables cheese fries topped with bacon which were delicious. We got the fried platter to start which consisted of mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, onion rings and yuka fries. It was great. My husband and I both got the brisket which I highly recommend. It was delicious and tender. The bbq sauces they had were great as well. Sensai: What a fun experience. The chef was very entertaining. The meal was delicious. My 2 year old ate more than I did. I also wanted to shoutout our chef for ensuring our daughter received her food first. I really appreciated the gesture. El Bodegon: I was skeptical but oh my goodness this place blew me away! They started the meal with these cheese buns and garlic dip and they were so good. The roasted leek cream soup was good and we also enjoyed the rib eye turnover. Our New York steaks were cooked perfectly. Upon cutting it did not feel as tender but once we took a bite it literally melted in your mouth. We ate at the steakhouse 3 times. We also had the churrasco (flap meat steak) and it was outstanding. We had chimichurri with all our steaks and it was great. We did not try any other restaurants. Food is a very personal thing as everyone has different tastes. Overall the food was consistent but there was the odd time something was over or under seasoned but never enough to deter us from eating it. We loved the ice cream parlour. The lady who worked there was so sweet and always greeted us with a smile. The resort was very well kept and clean. The service was amazing and staff was very friendly. We loved Pinky the flamingo and all the cats and kittens around the resort. The family lounge was such a fun addition. We loved that we could go bowling. They had a great variety of activities. We did not use the daisy club as our daughter was young but from the daily program they had a lot of activities. Now to mention some of the best parts. The staff. After our anniversary dinner at the steakhouse we left as our child began getting fussy. Elwin chased us down and said they had a cake for us. He went out of his way to come get us to ensure we had our cake for our anniversary and sang us a song. He was our waiter for all 3 dinners at the steakhouse and always provided exceptional service with a smile. He was clearly well loved by many. The pool bar staff, Joneiry and Manuel were amazing. They were always so fun and sweet and provided the best service. They always made sure my husband’s beer was refilled immediately and my daughter had her virgin strawberry daiquiri’s! Now, the best one of all, my sweet Yany at the buffet. Yany became family very quickly. Every time she saw us she promptly had a table ready and brought us a highchair quickly for our daughter. She knew what we wanted to drink without even having to ask us. She always ensured we had the l service at the buffet. Our vacation was amazing to say the least. Its rare I would return to the same resort but I can say for certain we will be returning to OBS and we’re already planning to do so next year. I would highly recommend this resort to all my family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful time.

  Great time in paradise.

  The stay at ocean blue and sand on January of 2026 was AWESOME! The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was good and service was excellent. The weather, as always, was great. The housekeeper came daily and did a wonderful job. The piano bar was our favorite because of the atmosphere. The ONLY negative experience was one grumpy hostess at the Mexican restaurant. But we didn't let that ruin our time. I will definitely be telling everyone about this place. Carlos at the tiki bar,Wilmer at the beach, Julio at the beach, Franklin at the piano bar and Javier at the front desk made this trip EXECLENTE!!

  Great family resort , reasonable price .

  The resort was very clean , nothing fancy but clean, good service and food and the price was just right . I would go back again.

  Amazing !!!!!

  Joneiry y Manuel was amazing the best bartender they had the best drinks ever !! Just amazing all around I will definitely recommend coming to the pool to get your drinks here
