Ourlong flight arrived here in the evening. Check in was a long slow line. Nobody helped us up 3 flights of stairs with huge suitcases. Our a/c didnt work in our room. It was 10:00 pm by the time we were given a different room we called the front desk but nobody answered!(a/c didnt work very wellin the new room either. It gets really hot on the upper floors. We had to move our bed in front of vent.we hadnt eaten and all restaurants and shops were closed. Had to wait until breakfast. We were ready to leave then. Our butler invited us to a welcome breakfast. We told him we r not interested in a timeshare(we were warned about this). The salesman sat and ate and argued with us the entire time about a timeshare. His name was Bernard. The only edible meal was breakfast. The restaurants are not all open all the time so u have to go eat at soecific times. If u want a towell for the beach u have to give a card (which they keep until u bring back ur only towell)We paid for an excursion at the dive shack. We rode a long way in a van(extremely dangerous driving) the excursion people PACKED about twenty people in a rickety old canoe with NO LIFE JACKETS ON THE BOAT OR ON ANYONE) It was terrifying. We had to leap out of the boat into the shallow water. We went out on this island. The lunch they served was terrible. The huge nasty sandbags in the water on the beach at the resort smelled horrible. The maids left pools of water on the walkways (u couldnt see the water). It was very slick and I slipped and got injured.i filed an injury report with guest services. I was treated very badly. The man at the front desk, David was extremely rude and no help with anything. After we didnt upgrade our room and didnt buy a timeshare we were either ignored or outright treated poorly. Also in the mornings the sprinklers run and get water on the walkways thru the resort. They are very slick. All in all it was a terrible waste of time and money. Marisa, where were you when we were there and all this was happening? Save your breath! My husband has built, sold and owned hotels in the USA The standards in the US are much higher! We feel lucky that something really bad didnt happen to us. The people working there would get quite SINISTER if u had a problemo!NEVER GOING BACK!
I was at the hotel for 2 weeks. Usually I go for one week but told myself I needed a longer vacation. The hotel its felt and the food is amazing. Also, an animator that Goes by the name Pokemon is one of the best animators. So outgoing and respectful. I recommend this hotel to anyone! Safe and big, so clean! ❤️
Stayed in the privileged section which was very nice. Rooms are very large, clean and nicely decorated. Could definitely use some repairs but still good. Big pools with daily fun activities, I stress fun, so many resorts have boring activities but here ever day we looked forward to going down. Beach beds were always available which is the first time I’ve been to a resort and able walk up at noon and actually get a bed. Beach has seen better days, hurricanes did a number on it but a short walk and the beaches are beautiful. Wanted to make a point to mention the mega party. That was a lot of fun, would actually go back to this resort on our next vacation solely to go to the mega party again.

Since I'm in self isolation and have lots of time to write, after a wonderful trip to OBS I will make this review as in depth as possible. Overall this resort, I believe, is just a step down from a Sandals Resort. I have stayed at several Sandals Resorts and with the exception of only a couple of things this resort would be on par. I traveled with my son and 2 grandchildren (ages 3 and 5). We upgraded to Privilege and were more than happy with the upgrade. The Privilege section is in Section 6. This comes with Butler Service. A great shout out to our Butler Jose who went over and above for all of our needs including decorating the room for a birthday and arranging a cake at dinner for my grandsons' 6th birthday. The difference between butler service here and Sandals is that your butler is unable to reserve chairs at either the beach or the pool and subsequently is unable to arrange for drinks to be delivered etc. during the day. Subsequently, chairs are reserved early in the morning by other patrons which always irritates me...but I played the game since I'm an early riser!!! The beach is not great for kids. This is not the fault of the resort. This is due to hurricanes over the past few years. Subsequently, the resort has reconfigured the beach to accommodate sun bathers. Beach is fine for adults. Due to rough and wavey waters though we stuck to the pool. The restaurants that we visited, Buffet, Privilege Breakfast, Italian, Japanese, Steak House were all great. The Breakfast Buffet has all of the usual breakfast foods with 2 omlet stations, a fresh fruit and smoothie station, pancake & waffle station, fresh pastries, fruit and all the rest that goes into providing fresh food to a busy resort. The food is fresh and plentiful. I loved breakfasts each day. Buffet is also great for lunch with a continuous quantity of quality prepared foods. There is also the grill at the pool and beach which had wonderfully prepared salads, burgers and all the usual. My favorite daily was the rotisserie chicken. Delightful! Al A Carte restaurants were all wonderful. My favorite was the Japanese where the show and food were both delightful! The evening ice cream station was a wonderful surprise and the kids looked forward each night. Overall, this resort is wonderful. The grounds are immaculate. The staff are second to none. The all appear to be happy to be at work. In 7 days I did not encounter anyone that did not have a smile and who was not happy to be at work. I highly recommend this resort. Its great for kids and adults alike. I will be returning!
