Check-in Policy - Hotel requires a credit/debit card authorization or cash deposit upon check-in for incidentals; this will place a hold on your funds.
Convention Policy - Individuals attending a convention cannot book this property for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be subject to higher room rates upon arrival.
Hotel Spring Break Policy - Hotel does not accept spring breakers. For travel beginning on or after 2/1/20 and through the night of 4/30/20, no customers 23 years or younger are allowed unless there is at least one adult over 30 years old in the same room.
Student or spring breaker groups with 16 - 23 year old are not allowed even when accompanied by adults over 30 years old.

What a excellent place to stay
I just got back on March 14, 2020 and I would love to thank Bonnie Young for her facebook page recommending this resort. The price was great, the accommodations were wonderful and the staff here "Amazing" Our group had the best time. We had pool view rooms in building 5 (Room 216) and could see the beach from the balcony. Food was decent, as I am a foodie. Everyone can find something to eat at the main buffet. I like the beach buffet for lunch, that was my favorite. Drinks were plentiful and our pool waitress, Christina was the best ever. She was super friendly, attentive and always with the quick joke. She made our trip so incredible. The entertainment staff was on point also. So many comments about Pokemon, Chocolate and Mickey Mouse from other guests. Well, ALL TRUE. These guys were amazing. They kept us laughing all week. Such fine people to have on staff to make this trip so memorable. We miss you OBS, and you are in our hearts with the recent turn of events here in the world. Please stay safe and healthy and we will be back again sometime in the future. You are too great a people not to come back to the Dominican Republic.
Each time I go back, the experience gets better
I went in March to the Ocean Blue with my Girl friend for my 3rd time, Her 1st. Each time I've been there the experience has gotten better and my partner she was totally blown away by everything the resort had to offer. From the service we were given from the moment we arrived till when we sadly had to leave as our vacay was over. The food was absolutely fantastic. Let me say in the 3 times I've been there I have not partaken to eating in any of the al la carte restraunts and both my partner and I are both huge foodies and both love seafood to which there was no end of. Also I must note my beautiful girl friend has gluten dairy and corn allergies and never had an end of choices that she was able to eat without worry. As we spent most of our time at or around the swim up bar at the pool closet to the beach we found the servers Ymbukou, Ben, Elizabeth, Christina, Derby and the others to be a never ending source of both amusement and entertainment. These servers and the rest throughout the resort are the ones that make this place so remarkable and fun to go to. Then there's the Blue team the entertainers. What can I say about this energetic group that goes on and on to make sure your time at this resort is beyond fun. From Chocolate, Pokemon, Micky Mouse Cherry and Marocka this group work so hard to make your stay memorable. They are out at 9 AM enteraining and running events from water arobics , kids games, volleyball on the beach to games and fun pool parties then in the evenings they perfom at the theater everynite and then off to the lobby bar to keep things going, when that closes they head over to the disco to wind up their day. The energizer battery company should hire this crew as there advertising people. And to close out the unsung heros to this resort are the housekeepers gardeners and security. The housekeepers somehow manage to keep the rooms in tip top cleanliness despite all the sand people track into there rooms. The gardeners keep the resort looking amazingly clean and manicured and you hardly ever see them doing it, it's like they're invisible. same as the invisible security guards that are everywhere but keep out of sight but if needed they are there. Having struck up friendship with several staffers and through talking with them, everyone of them said to me they all loved working in this resort. When I asked why they like it so much there (and this is a tribute to the management of this great resort) they all said that the management treated them all like family. Amazing Place to visit
My experience was great the work they do to treat the client goes above and Beyond. The room service, the food the room always sparkling. Everybody always offer their help to make you vacation memorable. I'm going back in the winter again.
Nice but would never return
So, a lot to say about this hotel. I will start with the bad. When you arrive, the reception is so so slow. And they clearly hate what they do. Sour faced and really, just do not want to help. They then give you an assistant who brings you for food seen as the rooms are not ready, at 3pm. The assistant makes a bit song and dance about you. Then the next mornign they bring you a gift. Of course it is a one hour massage but you have to sit through the 1 hour long pressure meeting for time share. We refused. Then refused to the sales guy. Then had to refuse to the manager. Then the next morning we had our so called assistant piss us off to no end saying she will be fired and all this rubbish if we dont go. Amazingly, once we refused, she did not assist us for the rest of the week. We also got no water, beer or toilet paper that day. 3 phone calls with our room number, nothing. Went to reception and they called some one, nothing. Only when we went to customer services and discussed with them did we get our stuff. Funny how that works. The french restaurant. The lady sat us. But once we asked for the house wine and didnt buy the 50 dollar (or how ever much of a crazy price the food was) they became real ignorant. Totally ignored use. Filled wine at every other table around us but wouldnt even come to our table. They totally ruined our first night at the hotel as it set such a bad tone. We go all inclusive so we dont have to bring cash and every where you go in the hotel there is charges if you want more than the bare minimum. And remember, if you are not standing with cash in your hand it is sometimes imposible to get service. Unfortunately, we were put in a room looking on to a service road so that was pretty aweful. And, while I was on my balcony, I saw one of the staff members walking on the service road going to balconies looking in and then to the next and the next. When he saw me looking at him he walked off quickly downt the road. There was emergency exit signs hanging off the walls in disrepair. Damage in the room and bathroom, the jacuzzi was falling apart and the safe was damaged and sticking. The good . All other restaurants were great. The staff were fantastic (thankfully I didnt see some of the French restaurant staff again) and friendly. Route 66 is a fun place with great food. And the same can be said for the Italian restaurant. Make sure to book the 6 pm Japanese restaurant sitting. It is so much fun. The food was amazing and it all lasts about an hour and 15. The coffee shop is great. They make amazing coffee and you can get them with alcohol which is nice. The sports bar is great for late nights, but would have been amazing if it was open earlier int he day when the sports is actually on. All bars were good, except the wait if you dont have cash in your hand. The staff are nice, but lets face it, you are nothign to them if you are not handing over US dollars. The pool entertainment was always a lot of fun. The guys and girls are awesome at their jobs. Always high energy and a lot going on. The beech was ok. very rough and messy. I think it is just because of the location but a 1 or 2 minute walk is no issue. One think that will probably annoy, is the amount of people selling stuff and just being a pain. On monday and one other night they have stalls set up, in the hotel to sell you junk. They keep grabbing at you and putting things in your hands and trying to shake your hands. Then begging you for money when you say you dont want it. And it seems they did not know about the virus and staff keep grabbing hands and even drinking from your beer cups. Like really, the staff come over, take your cup and drink your beer. For what promised to be such a great place, it is the worst of the 4 all inclusives we have been to between Dominican and Cuba. Just too many things that make it not worth it again. And make sure you bring everything you will need. Their prices in the shop are higher than Canada or the USA.
I'm a little late writing this review, but here it is. I traveled in November with a friend to OBS. When we arrived at the hotel we were ushered into the reception area and immediately served a nice cool drink. Very refreshing! The staff were helpful and took us to our room quickly. We didn't do any room upgrades, as we didn't plan on spending much time there! The room was basic, but all the necessities were there. Lots of drinks and bottled water in the mini-fridge. Some people have commented on a strong musty odour in their rooms. It was a little bit musty/stale, but basically what you'd expect in a tropical climate. It wasn't overly offensive at all. And our A/C worked great! The room cleaning staff were terrific leaving us plenty of towels, and changing our sheets when requested. The beach was nice. I saw the staff frequently working on keeping it cleaned and well-groomed. So kudos to them! The pool was lovely. Lots of activity around it. Loved watching the water aerobics! Swim up bar was terrific - never had a huge wait for drinks. And there was constantly staff wandering around to the chairs, asking if they could go get you a drink. I loved that on different days we had popsicles being handed out to us. We had an ice cream party one day, and a BBQ the next! It was never a dull day by the pool. The only bit of criticism I'd have is that I wish there'd been a few more umbrellas around the pool. It was hard to get a chair near an umbrella. The food was terrific! We enjoyed breakfast everyday at the buffet. I wish I could remember the staff member's name that waited on us. She was wonderful. She'd see us walking in and she'd bring us over to the table she'd reserved. Within a day she knew our drink orders! The food was great - the omelette station was delicious. Lots of fresh fruit to enjoy. Tons of selection, and I loved that there was the familiar choices (bacon, sausage, pancakes), but they also had some typical Dominican food for people to try. We usually went to La Cana for lunch. Just a little snack while we laid by the pool. Dinner we tried something new each night. Buffet, steakhouse, Italian, Mexican, American, and then doubled back to the steakhouse for our last night. Didn't get to try the french or Japanese cuisine. All of the restaurants were great. Food was hot and delicious at each one. Steakhouse was our favourite, so we went there twice. And we'd stop for an ice cream afterwards! It was nice that we didn't have to have a reservation. First come, first served. The resort is in need of some repairs, it's starting to look a little weathered. But the staff are aware of that and are working on it. One of the buildings was closed for painting while we were there. The only thing that really took away from our trip was every morning when you try to get to the buffet for breakfast, there are staff trying to make you go to the timeshare information session. It was frustrating, and it took a few days for them to realize, we really meant it when we said no we aren't going. Eventually the staff left us alone! We didn't do any of the excursions, so I can't comment on that at all. But overall, it was a great trip and I would definitely recommend the resort!
