Enjoyed our second stay at Dreams Onyx! Traveled with 3 couples and 5 children. Our preferred ocean view room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The other two couples stayed in a Premium family room in building 7. They also enjoyed their room. Our room was stocked daily with drinks, pringles and M & Ms. The staff took note of our daughter's love for candy and left extra daily. Our butler Juan was awesome! He was very attentive, always with a smile. He found us daily to see if we needed anything and we utilized him to make dinner reservations for our large group. Our favorite restaurants were the Italian restaurant (Capers), Spice for hibachi and the steakhouse (BlueWater). At Capers we enjoyed the chicken parm, mushroom risotto, caprese salad and the shrimp risotto. At the steakhouse, we enjoyed the artichoke salad, the ribeye, short ribs and the fettucine alfredo. Service at all the restaurants were excellent! We traveled during "low season" so the wait wasn't too long on the nights that we didn't have a reservation. The taco truck, as many have mentioned, was always a hit for an afternoon snack! The entertainment staff were fun and engaging both day and night! Loved all of them but Shadow checked on us daily to make sure we were having a good time and engaging in the activities. We enjoyed the preferred lounge, especially stopping to see Domingo for a Dominican rum and pineapple juice! We enjoyed the nightly shows and dance parties! Our favorite shows this trip were the Queen Tribute show and the Circus show. It was hard to stay too long at the dance party with our 3 day arcade pass. The kids absolutely LOVED the arcade and begged us to go nightly! It was definitely worth the price for our group. We've visited multiple all-inclusive resorts and this is one of our favorites! There is something to do for all ages and you never get bored with the countless activities. There are quiet areas to escape the noise, fun areas with activities for all, the beach is beautiful and mostly, the service is superb! We will definitely return!

Beautiful resort and wonderful staff
My husband and I just returned from Dreams Onyx and we had a wonderful time. The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is some of the best I've ever experienced while on vacation. They truly are there to ensure you have the best time. We had a swim-up room and it was great. Bar service around the pool was fantastic. Food was good not excellent. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I was thankful for other reviews that mentioned to look out for the blue shirts as they want to talk to you about the timeshare/unlimited membership. We politely declined (a few times). Would definitely return - and maybe we'll even bring the kids next time!

Awesome adult family trip -Already planning to return in 2026
Overall, great trip. This was our third visit to Dreams Onyx Punta Cana. We go every October. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are cleaned and restocked daily. Pools are clean and plentiful. There is a variety of live shows and nightly entertainment plus activities daily at the main pool. The food was good. We found something we loved at the buffet and a few of the specialty restaurants (Bluewater, Capers and Tamarindo-Mexican). The Taco truck was open this time around and we LOVED that.

The overall experience was good; the staff were nice, some more so than others. We had a great experience with a couple of staff that went above and beyond, from Oscar the bellman, Elvis the receptionist, Zuleiki the housekeeper, and Kari and Miguel were amazing from The Mix Bar. They were very attentive and did not discriminate against us for being Dominicans which is something other staff did as they thought we would not tip. Jazmin and Diomaris from Coco cafe were amazing and always welcomed us with a smile, created yummy beverages for us, and Manuel was great as well. The others from the Coco Cafe can't say the same as they treated me with indifference and someone behind me offered a better service ( the person behind me was a white tourist). I had a bad encounter with someone from the reception, I have always traveled with my son, and I have been staying at Dreams resorts for a while now. I visited Dreams Flora with my son when he was 3 months old, I was a fully pumping mom and had an issue with the mini fridge and they were nice enough to change the mini fridge and help me with my breastfeeding journey. At his location, I had the same issue but this time it was with cow's milk. My child has special needs, when he is out of his comfort zone he turns to one of his comfort foods, milk If you have a special needs children you know they notice the difference in foods right away. I had brought with me his milk and the mini fridge was not cooling to a safe degree 40°F. I had called and asked if someone could come and take a look their response was, It's not for you to have milk there, it's not a fridge. I explained my situation and then someone came to help us. Be mindful, even if it says it's a family-friendly hotel, their staff does not care about your child's needs. As a mom we want all of our children to have a nice experience, go prepared, and prepare even for the most unexpected thing. I am always prepared but even this time I was not prepared enough. Besides that, everything else was great, my toddler enjoyed his time at the pool. A lot of the entertainment guys made him feel welcome, sadly I do not have their names. Even with me telling them why my son was not engaging they always said hi and even learned his name. Every time they would see him running around they would try to play with him. 💙

An amazing vacation
I had an amazing time.. all thanks to the staff of this hotel.. Elias our concierge made our experience a true Dream.. I would definitely recommend this hotel and request Elias as your concierge. The bar tender Alexis and Wilmer and Jefry were amazing
