Feb 22, 2026Great times in Punta Cana!
We came here hoping for the best, but having been burned by AIs before planning for the worst. We were happily surprised by how good this place was. From when we arrived (and 30 minutes from the airport when there's no traffic is convenient), to when we left (hint - if it's Carnaval leave an hour before you think you want to leave!) it was nothing but a great time. We stayed in the new preferred section, where you can take a shuttle or a 5 minute walk to the rest of the resort. The walk over the bridge is great! Lots of animals to see, and it's just peaceful. The food was generally better than expected. Granted, I would have preferred more local cuisine (I mean why travel to another country to eat food you have at home?) but overall was pretty good - even the teppanyaki which is usually overly salty was done well. Have you ever been to a resort where you felt like just another number, where they pretended to care? This wasn't that. From Raul in Portofino to Samuel at the front, from Rayphin and Emmanuel at Blue Dorado to Marcelo (our Concierge), everyone knew us and was always friendly. While it may have helped (a little) to speak even a little Spanish, it wasn't completely necessary. We would go back here tomorrow if we could, you should go too!

Dreams Royal Beach
Our concierge, Marcelo, was the best! He was so attentive to all of our needs and checked in daily. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and grounds were beautiful. My only recommendation is that if you want Preferred Club AND to be close to restaurants and the beach, choose the Preferred Club level and request ocean view so that you are not given a room at the front of the resort. The golf cart transportation was supposed to be every 5 minutes, but we had several 20 minute waits. That said, we often chose to take the beautiful 10 minute nature walk from our Preferred building that included a boardwalk over water and the walk was a daily highlight. We stayed at the Excellence last December and would choose to return to Dreams Royal Beach if we are given an opportunity to return to Punta Cana.

Dreams Royal Punta Cana- an extraordinary resort, made my kids and myself very happy
Such an amazing resort! It exceeded our expectations. Very spacious room, great food options, friendly staff, all food service staff, all entertainment staff, absolutely extraordinary customer service, friendly. Kept my kids entertained- beach volleyball, pool games. We truly enjoyed the safety, the community feel, the big pool options, the beach. Walking at night on the hotel beach felt safe. Music was great. One of the best action ever.

Dreams Royal Beach - 2026
DRB is a beautiful resort! We had 20 people go on this vacation, and we all loved it! We knew it was going to have kids -- but.... As much as we liked it, we will probably not go back due to the amount of kids an parents not parenting! When they remodel the resort, I hope they put in a kid-free pool!

Wonderful experience with family
The staff were friendly, pleasant, and helpful. The checkout process was easy and we were given a late checkout. When we arrived our rooms were not ready, but we were greeted with some wine. The property is very well maintained, employees are constantly cleaning the property. It’s immaculate! Our favorite employee was Rissa on the entertainment team. She was humorous, humble, helpful, and so friendly! She made our family trip a special one as she took the time to chat with us and let us know about the activities for kids and adults. We would return again and hope to see Rissa again!!
