We had a great time on this trip! Tony and Abraham as well as the rest of the musical trivia group on December 31st were amazing and very helpful!

Dec 30, 2025We chose this resort after reading many positive reviews, but unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed.
This resort belongs to the Hyatt group, but it cannot be compared to other Hyatt resorts in Cancun. At an average cost of around $1,000 per night, it is absolutely not worth the price. 1. Service and Food: Room service was acceptable, but restaurant service was very poor. There is only one small buffet restaurant and four specialty restaurants, all operating on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. On our first night, we arrived at the Italian restaurant at 6:00 pm and were told they were not yet taking names for the waiting list. When we returned at 6:30 pm, we were informed the wait time was two hours, so we ended up eating at the buffet instead. The following day, we tried the French restaurant. Although tables were available, we waited 1.5 hours before being served. Even then, the main courses were not ready, and after waiting an additional 30 minutes, we finished our appetizers and went to the buffet for dessert. The food quality was poor and often not hot. The issue was not cooking time, but very poor management. 2. Entertainment: Despite the large number of guests, there was only one entertainment option each night. The shows lacked talent, skill, and overall quality. Entertainment was extremely disappointing. 3. Cleanliness: Overall cleanliness was about 3/5. The resort appeared understaffed and in need of renovation. 4. Location: The beach was very unattractive and dirty—we couldn’t even step into the water. The main pool was also very small considering the number of guests at the resort. Conclusion: I would not recommend this resort to anyone. For a much better experience, I strongly suggest staying in Cancun’s hotel zone instead.

Festival was great but the hotel is in need of a complete remodel.
We returned to Dreams Sapphire for the Strings and Sol event after an 11-year absence. The hotel looks the same as before, that is to say, in serious need of a remodel. The hotel is old-looking and old-feeling. This resort does not compare to others in the vicinity. The pools are old-looking and in need of repair, and the water needs to be heated. Overall, I would not stay at this property again or recommend Dreams.

Good: A nice clean resort. Warm greeting. Room was available early which was a plus as our flight arrived early. Is definitely a family resort with lots of kids. Lots of food choices. Lots of pool water for everyone. Workers very attentive and nice. Plenty of beach to lounge on. Lines were not long at all for drinks or food. Good evening entertainment. Bad: Very deceptive "membership" push. Santiago assured us we would not endure high pressure sales and offer was not "Timeshare". It was TOTALLY high pressure Timeshare'ish and wasted 4 hours of time when told it would be 90 minutes. DO NOT DO THE PRESENTATION!! Not every restaurant open to everyone at certain times, only premier members at certain spots and times. You can drink a gallon of tequila and not have the slightest buzz. Summary: I would do it again, but would avoid the "presentation". Good for families with kids. Can be loud at times. A nice quick getaway, but would get bored for an extended stay of 5 or more days without excursions.

Good experience
Overall, satisfied with the vacation. I liked what resort had to offer: bike tour, kayak and wind surfing we actually did almost every day while the weather permitted. We liked the fact that lots of life music during the day and quite cool entertainment in the evening hours for all ages. Food was satisfying in World Cafe or we choose Bordeaux (french) restaurant. Many people also like the Italian. Premier Club representatives were too aggressive with sales. Other than that all was good.
