I had a great time at Melia, I really love the service provided by the staff. The rooms need to be updated. I would definitely recommend this place.

Dec 10, 2024Wonderful relaxing island retreat
From the time we arrived at the resort, we were treated like VIPs. It was my husband's birthday and they had placed a small decorated birthday cake and a bottle of champagne in the room to welcome us! The property itself is a feast for the eyes - the natural beauty of the beach is incredible and everywhere you looked there was a beautifully designed area to enjoy a drink and just sit and watch the world go by. Juan Adbricoles was our concierge and he made sure everything was just right, checking in on us each day to make reservations or answer questions. He was always available and very thoughtful. We did have one occasion where none of our room keys worked, but he was able to advise us on that. I am a vegetarian but had no problem finding menu items that worked for me and my husband said the seafood items were outstanding. The buffet at Mosaica had everything you could ever wish for and the evening ambiance at Barefoot was very romantic for a special night out. The only bad service experience was at the restaurant Moui. Our dinner never arrived and the wait staff never checked on us so we walked out and went next door to the buffet. The cocktails were made from top shelf liquors (Bombay for my G&T) and the wine was comparable to a house wine at a restaurant in the US. Higher end wines were available for purchase. You could enjoy a different style of evening entertainment each evening in the lobby area. I am glad we chose The Level experience because it is close to the beach, had a beautiful swimming pool with swim up bar and was very quiet. One massage and daily steam/sauna area access was also a perk of The Level. The massage by Anna was absolutely fantastic, as good as it gets. The beach is so pretty and there are opportunities for paragliding and other excursions. People on the beach would come up and ask you if you wanted to take an excursion, but they were nice and never overly pushy like on some beaches. Jose at the bike shop set us up with bicycles one day, a fun way to see the property! We had a very interesting and entertaining conversation with him at the end of the ride! There was water on the walking paths, mostly at night (probably from the sprinklers) and it was sometimes smelly, but a minor inconvenience. All in all, it was wonderful and every one of the staff was as attentive and pleasant as could be. Thank you for a wonderful get away!

5 Year Marriage Anniversary
My wife and I celebrated our 5th marriage anniversary at the Melia Punta Cana resort and had an incredible time that we will be using as the measurement for all other trips. We upgraded to the Level package and this is a must because of not only the perks but we also got access to an amazing butler, Jenfry. He truly was incredible from day 1, we were stress free the whole time because Jenfry was able to handle all the details, big and small. He set up our lovely dinner on the beach for the night of our anniversary. Gabriel was our waiter for that dinner and did an incredible job! Unfortunately we got rained on but luckily Gabriel was quick to get us moved out of the rain before we got wet and without any of our food or wine being ruined. He even braved the heavy rain to bring back an umbrella for us so we wouldn't get soaked while walking back. We met Alejandro on our last night who showed us an incredibly kind gesture while driving us back to the Level, he offered to stop at a few locations and take pictures since we were the only riders. The pictures turned out incredible and make for a great memory. Overall this was our best trip yet and thanks to an incredible staff such as Jenfry, we will be back!

Relaxation Station
The serenity options are many. The dining options are extensive. The daily and nightly entertainment variety is wonderful. Highlight is most definitely the couples massage and hydrapool. Downfall is the sales pitch to purchase vacation time at Melia and at partner sites around the world. The sales feel like timeshare presentations and it is burdensome so avoid any offers to sit through or tour other properties. We paid outright for our vacation using Vacations to Go and the property is truly an amazing getaway.

Good hotel
Absolute beautiful hotel overall, would definitely come again in the future. Downside, very expensive.
