Wow!!! This place is truly 5 stars!!

We arrived on September 22nd with Air Transat from Montreal Canada, for 9 nights at this beautiful resort. We took the transport from Air Transat and it took more than an hour to leave for the hotel, because there was a problem to open the luggage door ( new plane). But we were fine, sitting on our bus with great air conditioning! Took around 20 minutes to arrive at the hotel. We had booked The Level so we were sent to the Spa for check in, since the Level building 2nd and 3rd floor was closed. (the night before there was a big damage to the roof of the building, resulting in a water damage) We didn't get to experience the Rooftop bar, but we did met with the famous Victor at different places during our stay (what an amazing person!!) and we also had access to the new beach bar The Calathea ( with live music and amazing service from Alessandro and Deivy Leonardo!!!) The room was in building 9, directly behind the Level building. Very spacious with a king size bed, a lot of drawers, very comfortable sofa, an amazing bathroom with a bathtub and a beautiful rain shower! The walk from our room to the Level building was 1 minute and to the beach 2 minutes. We spent most of our time in the Level section. The big pool was clean and refreshing with a lot of places to lie down and relax!! Never had a problem to find a spot with shades. The beach was the best I have ever seen !!!! Soft sand and beautiful sight!!! A lot of sunbeds and great bar service. There were some boats nearby, but the smell of gas and the noise didn't bother me at all. The seaweed was not a problem as well, the beach was cleaned regularly. The weather was pretty hot around 32 to 35 each day. It rained only 2 times in the 10 days we were there There were a lot of great activities to do every day!!! (yoga, meditation, mud cleansing, danse, aerobics...) I did learned so many things and had so much fun at the cocktail lesson from Victor!!!! The sellers on the beach were not a bother, they were very polite and friendly! The Yhi Spa was absolutely gorgeous!!!! So relaxing with a lot of areas to rest, hot pool, saunas and the refreshing outside pool. We loved our time spent there!!! The food was really good to amazing!! In the buffet, we could always get healthy and fresh choices. The best food and service was at the Quimera restaurant and at the romantic diner on the beach !!! We felt like family and the food was delicious!!! Thanks to our friends Maximo, Miguel, Hilario, Maria, Yessania!!! We miss you already!!!! This resort is big and beautiful!!! We did walk from the Lobby to the Beach, took us 17 minutes and we walk slowly. Most of the time we used the transportation and we never waited long for it. Hello to Aldo who was amazing talking in French with us!!! We definitely recommend that resort to anyone who wants to relax, have great food and service and who wants to feel safe!! We will definitely go back!!!

Fun Times at Melia Punta Cana Beach

Mealia Punta Cana Beach is a wonderful place to visit. We stayed in the Level section of the hotel. Our Butler/Concierge Nathaneal was great. The wait staff at the restaurants were fabulous. We highly recommend this hotel.

    The best customer service

Recently my husband and I were on vacation at Melia Beach Punta Cana. My husband and I had the best vacation in 45 years of being married. The employees made us feel like kings. The drivers, the restaurant employees, the front desk, customer services, housekeeping, ect..The employees are the face of the hotel and 100% of the employees are respectful, cordial, every day they welcomed us with a big smile. If you wanted to have an amazing vacation Melia Beach Punta Cana is the place to go. Awesome Resort and Staff

We absolutely loved our 10 day stay at The Melia Level. Our butler Nathan was fabulous. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Everything was so clean and beautiful and the food was amazing. We cannot wait to go back.

    Do NOT stay here

I’ve travelled to 60 countries & stay in hotels almost monthly and this hotel has got to be one of the most disappointing. Certainly no “wellness” to be found anywhere We spent 10 days at the Meliá, specifically the level (which costs more) and DO NOT RECOMMEND! Issues included - Inconsistency with room service. Had to repeatedly ask for very basic things like new towels everyday or shower caps etc. basic amenities you’d expect at a 5* resort. They don’t clean properly either - Rooms are very dated. Chipped paint / plug sockets barely hanging on / old towels etc (very insta v reality because the grounds are very well kept at first glance) - The Level means they give you a “concierge”. Ours unfortunately were useless, entirely unhelpful & constantly tried to make more money from us. Eg. The Saona island tour - the tour guide recommended to us tried to overcharge us by $40 pp - The concierge, Jorge, was also incredibly pushy in frankly ALL aspects - My friend got food poisoning from ceviche one night and we couldn’t get coconut water…. On an island… full of palm trees.. go figure! They were more concerned with forcing her to fill out a medical form to alleviate them from any liabilities rather than checking on her health - We complained TWICE within a week & the “manager”, Ingrid, also did absolutely nothing! They need a class in adequate customer service! - 2/4 of the A la carte restaurants are AWFUL and on the whole, the food is very bland and repetitive. - For us Non-Americans - there is a HEAVY expectation to constantly tip all the workers. I do think this impacts the level of service offered too - They will also constantly try to upsell you on everything from wine costs to room upgrades and more. Hustle hustle hustle Having stayed at the Melia in Zanzibar we were naively very hopeful and excited about this one but I do not recommend this hotel. Stay ANYWHERE but here when in DR. Note: “hotel manager Derryl D’costa” who seems to make generic comments on all tripadvisor posts was ironically nowhere to be found on site to actually FIX any of the issues so many of us guests are complaining about! Seems to do it purely to show face on this website. Useless!
