Nice hotel with beach and huge pool
This is a nice secluded hotel about 30 min from the airport. Staff were friendly, sometimes things were a little slow moving but we're on island time so it wasn't bad even though it was a busy holiday week and they had a wedding party there as well. Despite that the pool and beach never felt overly crowded. The hotel is on the west side of a peninsula so the water at the beach is calm and very few if any waves. Be advised the water is very shallow and there are a lot of seaweed beds, making it not ideal for much swimming. It wasn't a deal breaker for us but it could be for some. There was a tiny bit of sargassum floating during our stay (first week of July) but nothing much on the beach or anything. The pools are awesome though. Angel was our server at the pool and he was great. We had an oceanfront room with a balcony, it was spacious, clean, and plenty of room for the two of us, nice view of the beach. Daily housekeeping with no complaints. We ate at Nectar, Nori, and Prime and all were very good. One piece of advice to the hotel: I know a lot of hotels went the route of plastic and disposable stuff during covid, but it would be nice to cut down on the plastic waste--ie the giant paper cups in the rooms instead of glasses or coffee mugs that actually fit under the nespresso machine, bedroom linens are all bagged in plastic bags etc. All in all we had a nice getaway and would return.

Amazing
The hotel is beautiful, the staff was friendly and the room was clean. I would come back again. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from and plenty of activities for all ages.

Awesome service at Prime
We ate at Prime and our server Marco Espinal was amazing. Bryan the water guy was amazing as well. As a vegan, the cauliflower steak and risotto was delicious!!

Family trip to Hyatt Regency - Rio Grande Puerto Rico
We absolutely loved the resort! It was beautiful and all of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. An extra shout out to Chef Ivan Martinez who led our sushi making class - our whole family did it and he was so patient with all of us - highly recommend and Nanette Dodriguez who led the kids activités at the pool. Nanette was my daughter’s favorite - she was amazing with her and the activities were super fun! Many thanks to Nanette!

Not a Luxury Resort
This is not a true luxury resort. It was an all inclusive that Hyatt bought and rebranded, The rooms are all in sterile white two story buildings that look like military barracks. The rooms are spacious and fine. The place is understaffed, so you wait for everything. A significant portion of the staff don’t speak English, including both of the staff in the spa. Perhaps it is because it appears that this place primarily caters to locals. I was there during a holiday week. The hotel was sold out. 90% of the quests were Spanish speaking.. The restaurants are drab and the food average. The pools are very nice, particularly the small pool near the beach. Overall not a terrible place, but certainly not a luxury resort
