2 weeks of family vacation
Overall - Great property, beautiful landscaped lawns and main hotel building and beautifully renovated bungalows. The property - We were at the resort for 2 weeks so we had ample time to enjoy it thoroughly. The property has been recently bought by Hyatt at the end of last year and has been renovated with modern amenities. There is also Top Golf that is planned to open in 2020. The resort is in its own peninsula that runs between 2 golf courses and ends at the hotel building. There are golf carts that run back and forth between bungalows and the main hotel lobby and the drivers are very prompt to come and pick you up. The ocean water is Azure blue and you can rent Kayaks from next to the swimming pools that is if you get chance to leave those pools as they are multiple of them spread out to provide privacy and sun bathing options next to the beach! Other recreational activities include lawn tennis, table tennis and multiple board and lawn games. The main Hotel has multiple lobbies and lounging areas, with water fountains and ponds with fishes. There is live music from Thursday through Sunday and the pool area has multiple activities for the kids throughout the day. The Service - The Service is exceptional! Jorge Ceballos the front desk manager was super hospitable and helpful. The second week of our trip coincided with Puerto Rico’s lockdown in response to Covid 19. The management made sure that we were comfortable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome even as the resort was running on limited amenities due to city curfew. Overall - It’s a beautiful resort that when compared to other comparable resorts like St Regis is much newer and way more economical. We will certainly come back!
Gorgeous Resort, Excellent Service
This resort is absolutely beautiful! It is off by itself and away from the hustle and bustle of San Juan. It is about an hour drive from the airport and San Juan. We rented a car and drove out here. I love the outdoor layout of the hotel and all the living spaces are covered but outdoor. It is a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather. The pool area is huge and we got to enjoy the pool every day. We especially loved the cabanas and the fact that they are first come first serve. They have kayaks available for rent at the beach which was fun. Be prepared, there are not fish or too much too see if trying to snorkel off the beach. They have a nice gift shop that has everything you need. The room was very beautiful and a great size. It was very clean and the housekeeping staff did a great job of keeping the room clean all week. We loved the huge tub inside the shower area and the rain shower. We sat on our patio basically every night. There is a mini fridge in the room which is handy. The restaurants were all good. My only negative is we ate at Nori the first night and we didn't have a reservation. So, they made us make a reservation and then come back 15 minutes later. We sat down and had dinner and there were only two tables in the restaurant the entire time. So I was a little offput by having to make a reservation and come back when they could have just sat us at a table. It was a little frustrating. The food and service was good. The restaurant Passion was delicious. We got the lobster and shrimp Mofongo and lamb shank, both were fabulous. The service was good. We ate at Water's Edge and everything for lunch was good. Banana ranch is a little weird for the salad though. We did eat there for breakfast on the last morning and the breakfast buffet is quite expensive at $25 per person. But, lots of good options including an omelet station. We did have access to the club lounge and that was nice. It is nice to be able to go grab a drink or water. I was actually surprised by the limited amount of food options though. It was basically the same exact thing every single morning for breakfast and very limited. It would have been nice to have some variation. Overall, a great stay for our honeymoon at a beautiful resort
Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico
Beatiful hotel with excelent staff. Only issues it thet they charge fir all the extras. Prepare to pay a high parking rate per night. Be ready to pay for kayaks and snorkling equipment. Even if you want to use a float or a tube at the pool they reneted for $10 per hour..... The float cost is not even that...
Amazing high quality experience
The Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico is one of the most beautiful and greatest resorts for you and the family to enjoy. The staff was very welcoming from day one. I am very satisfied with my overall stay and will definitely be recommending this hotel to my friends and family.
