    Not a positive experience.

Tired Property Take a step back 30 years into a once successful all inclusive resort awkwardly converted to a hotel resort much in need of renovation. The location, views and property is special and worth a short visit, but not worth the prices charged or the stay. Billing errors and lack of responsiveness tell you that they don’t take pride in their relationship with their guests. Stay elsewhere and enjoy Puerto Rico.

    Beautiful views

Room was spacious and clean, the bed was super comfortable and the pillows were great. Check in staff at anytime were so pleasant. The rides on the carts were awesome! The landscaping was on point! Loved that this property had a special crafted beer by the pool bar, it was SO good! Must try!

Wonderful family vacation! With just one note for future guests.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt, the property and location were truly stunning, the pool was amazing (it was difficult to drag my kids out of it!). We used their on-site activities concierge to book a wonderful boat tour for snorkeling and beach adventure. The entire place is well-run and spotlessly clean, really nice relaxing experience. The note that I have for future travelers, especially families, is about food... We booked a villa which was marketed as having a kitchen but we arrived to find that the only items in the kitchen were a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and some cabinets which were all empty. We had been expecting to be able to prepare some meals for our family in the room kitchen but this was not possible. For comparison - I recently traveled to St. Maarten with my daughter and stayed in a 2-room suite at the Hilton there and we had a kitchen with a stove and oven and toaster, tea kettle, and full set of dishes, a few pots and pans and silverware and knife and cutting board. This allowed us to eat some meals in the room there, which is why anyone would book a room with kitchen. The villa room at the Hyatt should not be marketed as having a kitchen - it was almost useless for our family. Compounding this was the fact that there are minimal options for restaurants and food purchase on the property, all of which are expensive (but that is common in PR we found), and all of which were very difficult to use because they were all booked with reservations for dinner every night before we ever arrived - this was likely worse during our stay as we traveled during school vacation week which was incredibly busy, but still should be anticipated and there should be some options. So, we couldn't eat at the restaurants (except with > 1 hour wait, if at all) and we couldn't eat in the room. This was the most difficult aspect of our stay, but we did still have a wonderful trip and would return, would just try to plan differently for food in the future, if possible.

We wanted perfect and we got it.

My husband, our family (four sets of parents and 9 grandchildren) and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve this month. We had an absolutely perfect time. My husband I had been there once before to vet out the resort before we brought our family and it was even better the second time around. This time was Easter Week and fairly busy, but even so, it was amazing. We had connecting rooms for our children and their children and the rooms were beautiful and huge. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and during the island-wide blackout, the resort generators kicked on and we had electric service throughout. The large pool with the swim up bar was fun. There was a quiet pool too but we didn't use it. Yes, the beach had seaweed plants in the water but we still snorkeled, kayaked, and enjoyed the beach. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. We are really sorry that we did not recall the names of all of the people who worked there but they were all lovely. Of those we recall were: At Reservations and the Front Desk were Marilyn, Joanice, Ashley. Victor at Bell Services. Coral and Brittany in Concierge. Steve, his co-manager and the staff at Splash. Neffertiti at the Pool Service. Kenneth at the Shack Bar, and so many others that I am sorry to have not named. We will be going back for our third visit as soon as possible. It is definitely our new go-to resort.
