    Bad experience

    Been here 2 days, they do not care about guests, food terrible and do not have enough staff despite paying extra for The Level. Have to ask for anything 3 times before you get anywhere. Will update tomorrow. Here for two weeks! It is not the staff’s fault, not enough of them.

    Great resort - good gym but needs updated equipment

    The gym was pretty good - staff were super helpful and friendly. They do need to update some of their equipment though - both their strength machines and their cardio machines. It’s good quality but getting a bit old/worn. Juan was very knowledgeable and helpful.

    Nice property but service lacking

    Overall the resort facilities are very nice but service is lacking significantly. Very few staff in customer facing roles speak English which makes it difficult when asking questions about food/drinks etc. A la carte booking is messed up. Unless you’re a level client you have to go and book every morning at 8am to try to find a spot. Most times they say everything is full but then you hear from other guests that they went after you and got a booking?!? Terrible approach and confusing for customers. Beach and pool are amazing. One of the nicer beach’s I have seen in punta cana. Pool is huge and lots of areas with shade, both in water and outside on the deck. As usual, chairs are basically gone by 7:30 but that’s usual in most resorts. Buffet was decent, but again workers cooking speak very little English. As for the a la cartes, steakhouse was good and I would recommend. Italian was ok and avoid the Mexican one. Overall I I think this resort is a 4 star.. not a 4.5 star. Service - 3 Rooms- 3.5 Property-4.5 Pool-4.5 Beach-5 Food-4

    Stay at Melia Caribe

    Our stay was nothing short of amazing. Greeted by our concierge upon arrival and he brought us to our room. We do wish that our concierge was a little more present as we often found that we were seeking him out to follow up on dinner reservations. We got the chance to experience many dining options, including the buffet which was constantly changing and had great variety. Our favourite dinner was at Rosso - the Italian restaurant. Pools and grounds were very well kept and the staff around the resort were lovely. Our favourite experience was with the entertainment staff - specifically Yoby and Ronny. They were nothing short of amazing to us and were always checking in to make sure we were having fun. We looked forward to spending our days doing activities that they led, and often seeked out the spaces they were working in to determine where we spent our days. Their kindness and energy are unmatched, and Melia Caribe Beach Resort is very lucky to have them both. We will certainly miss them!!

    Rosso

    Alex was our server, Natali was our host, and Monika didn’t let our wine glasses empty! Delicious starters and food, mains were good, and dessert was excellent (we had the ice cream). Beautiful setting, warm servers with a sense of humour. Would come back 100%.
