  2 bedroom The Level in off season

  We stayed for 7 nights. Basic info: So for those new to this, in off season there are definitely things you should expect at any resort, like more restaurants being closed, less staff, iffy weather, etc. However on the other hand, there are a ton less people so you aren't fighting for a spot by the pool or a front row at the beach. That was our experience at this resort. 1. Pay for The Level if this is that kind of vacation for you. I'm just going to leave that there. 2. We were in building 48, which is close to Riviera, the Level Pool, and just a short walk to the Lounge. If I returned, I would stay in that building again. 3. Tip everyone. In the past we've just bulk tipped for a day at the pool/beach when the waiter leaves for the day. That was not our experience here so we went through smaller bills faster. 4. Theft: I saw posts about theft by the staff. Our approach was to bring a travel safe, put it in the actual safe, and make sure to tip everyone well, including the housekeeper. We had 0 issues, even with things I left out that were replaceable back home. 5. If your concierge/butler did well (we've had better), it's customary to tip at the end of the week. 6. The hibachi is included with The Level, for 1 evening. 7. They do not provide wash cloths? 8. Melia's water park was closed, so we had to take a golf cart over to the other resort to their water park. Kids liked it. 9. I suspected that the alcohol at the bars was watered down on day 2, so I tested it over the next days at the 3–4 bars we visited, tipping generously JIC. I will not go into details, but if you actually want to take a shot or have rum in your Pina colada, go up to the Lounge and get it yourself. I obviously do not condone over consumption, especially at a family resort, that is not the reason for this mention. 10. Very family friendly. 11. Carmen did a good job on my pedi, and I usually never plug names unless I mean it. 12. They have some sort of new resort feature with climbing walls for the kiddos that you can get wristbands too. The grand opening was while we were there and it was a hot mess. I would give that time before you pay for it. 13. Check-in/out was easy with The Level. I would consider going back, and only if I got The Level again. Experiencing what we did, I would never visit this place during the peak season.

  Not Great

  Anniversary trip that didn’t meet our expectations, restaurants were hard to get booked and buffet was not very good. Our room was in need of many repairs and upgrades.

  Perfect massage

  At Melia Caribe Beach in Yhi Spa Caribe, in the Front assisted me Kissardis and Maria Fernanda the therapeutic. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Very relaxing. Lovely staff

  Melina stay

  Great service and ambience, special thanks to many Grismaldy and Eliezer for the service at dinner every night at the buffet! I recommend the pasta station which they had every night.

  Excellent and friendly service

  A fantastic hotel where first class service comes as standard. Every single member of staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Grismaldy and elirzer are an asset to the hotel and couldn’t be more helpful!
