My destination wedding, with 82 guest

We traveled with a group of 82 people for our wedding—kids, young adults in their 20s, and older adults—and chose this resort based on budget and reviews. Overall, it was a fair resort for the price, and if you’re planning a wedding or traveling with a large group on a budget, it’s a solid option. Rooms & Resort Grounds The rooms were clean, comfortable, and always well-stocked. They aren’t luxurious, but they’re perfectly fine for a beach vacation. The resort itself is large but totally walkable, and the train that circles the property is a nice bonus. The pool is huge and very clean, but extremely deep—anyone 5'3" or under won’t be able to touch the bottom in most areas. We never had trouble finding chairs in the mornings. The Level Upgrade We upgraded to The Level, which gave us a great room location, access to a dedicated pool, and a restaurant. However, the concierge service was disappointing; communication was inconsistent, and it didn’t feel worth the extra cost. Room service being included for Level guests was a nice perk. Drinks, Food & Amenities The drinks were great, but definitely bring a Yeti or reusable cup—the paper cups fall apart quickly. All the restaurants had good food, and the splash park was a hit with the kids, offering good lunch options. The beach and ocean were incredibly clean and beautiful. The casino only deals in USD, and surprisingly, we couldn’t find anywhere on the resort that could break Dominican pesos into smaller bills. Communication & Organization While individual staff members were friendly, communication between departments was lacking and often disorganized. This was one of the more noticeable downsides of the stay. Wedding Experience The wedding was the highlight of our entire trip. Our planner, Anakarius, and her team were amazing—organized, detail-oriented, and great communicators. The wedding day ran perfectly. We brought a lot of our own décor, and they handled all the setup and teardown, which saved us a ton of stress. Our ceremony was on the beach and was beautiful, did a simple arch and the base chairs, music and sound system worked great. Our reception was at Cape Nao on the beach, and it was absolutely worth the upgrade. It offered a beach feel with the bonus of a roof, solid flooring, bathrooms, and proper lighting. The spa did a few of our hair, Carmen did my bridal hair and did a great job, I should a Pinterest picture of the high pony tail I wanted and I got it. Stayed well all day and did not hurt my head, they gave my lots of champagne. Overall This resort is a good choice if you’re working within a budget, especially for weddings or large groups. There are areas that could be improved—mainly communication and concierge service—but the beautiful beach, clean rooms, acceptable food, and incredible wedding team made our experience a memorable one.

    No more Concierge service...

These were our experiences and your experiences and opinions might be different. We were there from Nov9-16. We arrived about 1am due to our flight issue, but still the check in was a breeze and we got the room that I emailed for a few months in advance. We had Level room and were put in block 42, room 4210. Room: reading the reviews from others, I am not really sure why people complained. For us it was more than adequate for a family of 4. It was cleaned every day and our fridge was always full of snacks and water. No issues with bed or pillows. But here is the thing, you dont go to a beautiful beach side resort to be in your room 24/7. Otherwise whats the point of being there. Food: it was unreal and so much variety and delicious. From specialty restaurants to the Riviera restaurant which is for level people, to the buffet, it was all good food. When it came to the buffet, my kids were actually excited to go there. So, for the people who are complaining, where do you eat? A quick note: some people complained about stomach issues and they dont realize its not the food but its them that is the issue. When you feed your body processed or ultra processed food constantly and then you eat wholesome food, fruits and vegetables all of a sudden, your body goes into shock and it displays the symptoms of constantly going to the bathroom. Grounds, Waterpark and beach: as everyone else mentioned, its a very well kept resort with beautiful grounds and a great beach. Staff: here is the thing; you tip the people in service industry period. They are all hard working people and they all deserve it. Otherwise they wouldn't be employed by the resort. We treated staff with respect and equals, and we got the same response from them back. They really took care of us. Sadly we were witness to few guests that treated the staff as if they dont exist or they are below them and they wondered why they were ignored. Concierge: our Concierge person was Dayana and what a wonderful lady. She really took good care of us and met all of our requests during our stay. She was constantly in touch with us through out the week and made sure we were OK. Sadly, as of Wed Nov 12, the resort does not offer personalized Concierge service anymore. Will we go back? Probably not, because having a personalized Concierge service is important to us and we picked the resort for that reason. We will be looking at other companies for our next trip. But that's our deal breaker as yours could be different.

    Massage therapy

Extremely relaxing, calming. The room was serene with outdoor shower. She was professional and knew where to focus. 50 minutes goes by fast!
