What We Love
- Fancy duds throughout the resort that create that stylish level of lavishness you want.
- A private beach where the views are endless and the beach bartender already knows your name and your favorite cocktail.
- You can keep your beach bod looking svelte with a session or two with one of the on-site trainers at the fitness center.
- Traveling with the fam? Perfect, because Kids & Co. will take care of the young tykes - they want to have a little fun time, too.
- Vegging out at the spa with a beachside massage - leaving the beach would require too much effort - remember it's your vacay!
Things to Know
- The resort is away from the hustle and bustle of Montego Bay - you're drive is about 45 minutes from the airport and oh, so worth it once you arrive.
- The Adventure Park has all kinds of fun activities - zip lining, rock climbing & trampolines.
- You're close to some of Jamaica's favorite spots to see - Green Grotto Caves, Luminous Lagoon, Dunn's River Falls and Dolphin Cove & you'll find an excursion desk on-site to help you plan all your adventures.
- On those nights when you'd rather enjoy dinner on your balcony (and in your jammies) then 24-hour room service will be your thang.
At this resort, the memories begin when you arrive.

Myself and partner chose to travel to Cuba for our winter holiday. Memories hotel is a very beautiful resort surrounded by stunning gardens and wildlife. I love the card and dogs who also lived there. The staff are very talented musicians and dancers and the opera show is outstanding. Our holiday rep Guillermo was informative, friendly and attentive. The resort is alittle run down but the staff make up for that. It is Cuba so please don't have high expectations of top top star luxury. They try so hard to make everyone comfortable and honestly, we were. The food was tasty and great variety. The excursions of sugar, cigar and rum factories were so fun and you get a great gift when leaving. I would definitely return to this resort. The spa was phenomenal. So good in fact that my partner fell asleep in the middle of a treatment:)
Great Stay and Yoga
First time to Cuba (Feb 2020). Lovely place. Liked the low rise accommodations all around. Beach, pool, entertainment, food, bar, reception, lunch beach-side, all close by. Bonus was Yoga outside by the beach each day - Thank you Corinne Cox.
So many people return for so many reasons! ....
If you’re looking for all-inclusive that’s only an hour from Havana (and isn’t in the more touristy resort of Varadero) then this may be the place for you! I’m a multiple return visitor who goes elsewhere too but keeps returning to this little gem. For me the hotels biggest asset is the friendliness of the staff and management throughout the resort. The beach is stunning; there are free hobie-cats, pedalos & kayaks plus opportunities to snorkel over the beachside reef and go on a scuba diving trip from the beach too. There is daytime entertainment on the beach & by the pool with the weekly highlight being ‘Cuban Day’ every Friday with live music, dancing & freshly cooked food at the beach. The evening entertainment is a nightly hour-long show with different themes including aqua-ballet (weather permitting), a circus & many musical shows. I enjoyed them all! The 3 a-la-carte restaurants (Cuban, Italian & International) are all worth visiting and I never went without in the buffet. There are reliable and popular professional insured English-speaking classic car taxi drivers available for trips to Havana and elsewhere. Most repeat visitors recommend these ahead of your operator coach trips. There are several bars throughout the resort including a singalong piano bar & 2 bars at the beach. I’m just waiting for Cuba to reopen to tourists after the pandemic and I’ll be back!
They say the best things come in small packages.. and for this resort it is true!
We were lucky to return to this resort in February for two weeks and were not disappointed. Everyone at this resort goes out of their way to ensure that their guests have the best time possible. So many smiles and great hospitality. The food is tasty and varied in all restaurants and at all meal times. There is always something to tempt and the deserts are out of this world! The beach is beautiful and cleaned daily with plenty of sun loungers and shade for all. Hopefully it will be possible to travel again soon and we will be back without a doubt.
This is why we love MJ so much
Thursday, March19, we left MJ after two wonderful weeks in our favourite place away from home. We have visited the resort many, many times over the past twenty years. We continue to return for several reasons, including the idyllic location, quaint atmosphere, and, of course, the amazing staff. Over the years, it has almost become cliche for reviewers to mention how fantastic the MJ staff are. That has never been more evident than it has these past two weeks. As things began to unravel back home due to the pandemic, life on the resort appeared almost normal. Of course, the staff were facing the same uncertainties we were, but they continued to make certain we were treated well. They maintained their sense of humour throughout. As we approached our last few days, we began to see evidence of change. The customary hugging and kissing was being replaced with elbow bumps and verbal greetings. Hand washing and wiping of surfaces was much more prevalent. Talk began to circulate that perhaps the resort may be closing as early as next week. In spite of this, our friends remained upbeat and professional. It was our last day that we saw the biggest and most profound changes. Staff were visibly upset. Some talked about concern for their families, particularly for elderly parents and relatives. Things were being trimmed back in preparation for either closing or largely diminished operations. Yet, in spite of this, everyone continued on without complaint. Management appeared to be sensitive to the fears and worries of all. It truly was difficult to see. We are always sad to say goodbye to Jibacoa. It is a special place. Leaving this time was especially hard. Although we have no doubt the outstanding team will pull through this together, it is an uncertain time for them. With that in mind, let’s all keep them in our thoughts and prayers. We are looking forward to visiting again in the near future. Adios hasta la proxima. (please excuse the translation if it is not correct.) •
