What We Love
- Fancy duds throughout the resort that create that stylish level of lavishness you want.
- A private beach where the views are endless and the beach bartender already knows your name and your favorite cocktail.
- You can keep your beach bod looking svelte with a session or two with one of the on-site trainers at the fitness center.
- Traveling with the fam? Perfect, because Kids & Co. will take care of the young tykes - they want to have a little fun time, too.
- Vegging out at the spa with a beachside massage - leaving the beach would require too much effort - remember it's your vacay!
Things to Know
- The resort is away from the hustle and bustle of Montego Bay - you're drive is about 45 minutes from the airport and oh, so worth it once you arrive.
- The Adventure Park has all kinds of fun activities - zip lining, rock climbing & trampolines.
- You're close to some of Jamaica's favorite spots to see - Green Grotto Caves, Luminous Lagoon, Dunn's River Falls and Dolphin Cove & you'll find an excursion desk on-site to help you plan all your adventures.
- On those nights when you'd rather enjoy dinner on your balcony (and in your jammies) then 24-hour room service will be your thang.
At this resort, the memories begin when you arrive.

My wife and I were here for our fourth stay...absolutely wonderful place, and the people are so nice. Jibacoa is a smaller resort, it’s a great place to rest and relax, the beach is not crowded, and you’re never more than a 5 minute walk from anywhere on the resort. The food is very good here (we upgrade to Diamond Club, so we do get more a la cartes), and the Diamond Club breakfast and lunch area is nice and quiet. There are several home based businesses up the road from the resort, including some souvenir shops and a restaurant, El Cacique. I highly recommend going out for dinner there.
We do hope we can return.
Had an absolutely wonderful time at Memories Jibacoa in February. It was our first visit to this part of Cuba though we’ve been to the Holguin area a number of times. The resort is almost perfect. The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious. Beware that Cuban 5 Star is not the same as 5 Star elsewhere. They have problems sourcing materials and funding to get work done. Despite that the rooms are maintained very well. We had a ground floor room in Block 16 which was very handy for both the pool and the beach (though nothing is too far from anywhere else in the resort). The food is good, though the grill in the buffet seems to run out quite early most evenings. There is a good stir-fry and pasta station and the pastries are scrumptious. The a la carte restaurants are all very good. The Italian and the Gourmet restaurants provide a very high quality of service and delicious meals. Our only criticism (which unfortunately knocks a star off our rating) is the main lobby bar. Unfortunately, there is no table service and very often the queues are lengthy, which sometimes takes the shine off pre-dinner drinks. We enjoyed that period because there is always a Cuban band playing from about 7 to 9pm. As well as that, if you are on one of the lower tiers you have to wobble down two or three flights of steps, drinks in hand. The bar could also do with a larger stock of glasses as they revert to plastic quite early on. But, hey-ho, it’s Cuba and you don’t let trifles like that spoil your overall enjoyment. On the plus side, the “Social Bar” upstairs is superb and very well run and this was where we usually spent out evenings after dinner. The hotel’s gardens are well maintained and present a very colourful and tropical appearance. The beach is very good and is kept clean, especially if any seaweed deposits arise, as they do from time to time. Swimming is very easy with a shallow entry to the sea. The pool is showing a few signs of wear but it is kept clean and tidy. There always seems to be plenty of loungers available both around the pool and on the beach. Is the “Diamond Club” worthwhile? For us it is not. The standard drinks are perfectly acceptable. We mostly drank Daquiri cocktails and rum and these were fine. The beach is good throughout and the only advantage to the Diamond Club area that we could see was the waiter service for drinks. But it’s no great slog to go to the bar for refreshments. Breakfast and lunch in the Diamond Club are taken in the Italian restaurant, with some seating outside. However, many Diamond Club members came upstairs to the buffet for their food as the variety was better. The resort is well placed to visit Havana (an absolute must) being about an hour’s drive. The hotel will arrange a taxi if you want to do your own thing or there are organised trips which include walking tours of the city. We chose the latter, having never been to the capital before, and had a superb day. Overall the resort met all our expectations. It was great to be able to visit Havana, which we had been unable to do during our previous Cuban adventures as we were too far away. All the staff are great, very friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as pleasant as they can. David, the General Manager, is always around making sure everything is shipshape and he always takes the time to chat to his guests. Will we return? We’ve already booked! Of course whether this terrible situation we’re all in will be over by then is anybody’s guess. I note that there are severe restrictions in place in Cuba, including the virtual suspension of all tourist flights and activities and I do hope they are coping. We will be back at Memories Jibacoa next February just so long as we are able.
Once you go on vacation here, you will be back.
We had a garden view room. Our patio was facing the pool. We did have Diamond Club which was a nice add on for our stay. The bar fridge was stocked with pop, beer and water. The room was clean daily and the cleaning staff were always friendly and greeted us in passing. The pool is amazing. It is quiet and serene. One direction faces the moutain and the other way faces the ocean. The pool is not super deep which is nice for comfort levels of all swimmers. The beach has luscious coral reefs and a diving centre. Diamond club has its own area if prefered and the bars and staff there are top notch. The restaurants and staff are great and even went as far as to make a Canadian grilled cheese for us to help with a craving lol. I cannot say enough about the entertainment staff. They work so hard to make your stay enjoyable and as active as you want it to be. Between walks up the moutain to themed games to earn prizes, you can have as little or as much entertainment as you wish. Every night is a show and piano bar, disco with top notch DJ. Please dont get me wrong, this is a very quiet resort but if you wish to have entertainment it is there as well. The managers are more than managers with this resort. They are always seen out with the entertainment, around greeting guests and are always there to greet you with a smile. They will join in with dancing and singing and wish to make your stay a great MEMORY. This was my third time at this resort and I cannot say enough good things. Thank you to all of the staff for making this resort mine and my husbands favorite resort to go to.

A little bit of Cuban paradise...
Just returned from a wonderful stay at Memories Jibacoa. Truly an idyllic garden setting with lots of resident wildlife and birdsong as you wander to the pool or beach. Accommodation is excellent and provided in attractive, two-storey blocks. The staff are part of the magic of Memories: super friendly and competent who really do know the meaning of teamwork. Entertainment and activities were top quality: some seriously talented young people! The visiting musicians were amazing too and of such high quality. Ronnie Scott's and Blue Note eat your heart out! And as well as dance and musical theatre in the evenings we had some great daytime activities – from Aquafit and Yoga to Spanish lessons and Salsa. The food in the buffet style restaurant was varied and plentiful and the home-baked foccacio and little coconut cakes were a dream. A big plus is that you can easily step outside into the countryside for a walk or hike, either by yourself or on one of the daily organised walks, and if you have not combined your trip with Havana then it's a very easy day trip. If you are reading this David and Miguel, please pass on our big thanks to everyone of your team for everything they did to enable us to have such a wonderful holiday. In the wake of Covid-19, these past few days could not have been easy for you and yet despite this you looked after us all so well. Muchas gracias – we hope it won't be too long before the planes and tourists return to Cuba. We will be back!
