We travelled from Toronto to Varadero and took the 50 min transfer to Jibacoa. I read all the reviews and was amazed how magical this resort was. The snorkel beach was amazing the restaurants were great lacking nothing and we are pretty fussy. We like going to Hawaii but this place has all that and 10 hrs travel time less than Maui or Kauai or Honolulu. The Cuban people are so friendly and warm hearted. Please tip well especially those who don’t get tips. I’m taking about the cleaning staff and gardeners and security guards. I booked mainly because of Alberto the tennis coach who is a world class instructor I kid you not. Lessons are free but you have to book. Please bring extra clothes to donate as everyone is in need. If you walk down the road to the left there are families living in the cabins and the father makes 10$ a month. Please bring them presents anything will do. Call Eddy Garcia for a classic car tour he’s the best. Don’t use Jose at the front lobby. The sailing was great and bring fishing rods to use and donate when you leave. Leave all your clothes behind too. Best vacation ever. Entertainment staff was awesome

Not just a holiday but an experience I will forever remember
We just returned and already missing the place. We had an amazing time despite not having our checked in bags for the first 2.5 days due to AirFrance leaving them in Paris! The resort is very well positioned close to a wonderful beach. The water was clean and good for snorkling (make sure you take some bread in the water to feed the fish). The staff was amazing, very accommodating, ask what you need and they will absolutely make it happen (if they can of course). From people from the bufet to entertainment staff, everyone was welcoming and made the stay even better (Thank you Jose for the thootbrushes and thootpaste!) But most of everything I liked the fact that people do not chase away the cats and dogs that are roaming around. It is heartbreaking to see hungry living souls in general, but in a country focusing more on human needs, it makes me feel a bit better seeing a bit of kindness to the animals as well. I did my best to give food to all the cats and dogs there and wish I would have known sooner about the online supermarket available only to tourists where you can order food! (So if you’re there please throw a bone to Rosie and her 3 kids, they do not trust people in general but are not intrusive and will love a bone or two). Special thanks to Mario from gym security, a kind hearted man that comforted me when he saw me crying when I realised I have to leave and won’t be able to feed Rosie and her gang. Thank you for a very amazing experience! Despite not liking to visit the same place twice I will return here for sure.

We’ll be back
We had a wonderful stay at Memories Jibacoa. This time I went with my family, and we truly had a wonderful time at this hotel, which undoubtedly has all the qualities to be one of the best hotels in the country. The friendliness of the staff distinguishes a wonderful team that goes above and beyond to please guests of all nationalities. The hotel boasts enviable comfort, as well as a beautiful pool and a beach ideal for relaxing, snorkeling, and other water activities. We definitely recommend it.

Memories Jibacoa never disappoints!
Our trip started Sept 30/2025 The staff went above and beyond to make our experience the best experience possible. A mountain situated behind the resort and ocean in front. This intimate resort setting never disappoints. We are repeat visitors. It’s truly hard to imagine how lovely everyone is given the trials and tribulations Cubans experience in their every day lives. With this in mind, should you be inclined, take OTC medication (baby, child, adult), toiletries, school supplies, soup mixes to mention a few, to compliment tips. The resort has safe ice and drinking water, but do not drink the water from the hotel room to be on the safe side. There was an abundance of food and drink. There were no power outages, and if that were to happen, I’m confident the resort would handle it in a timely manner. They have their own generator. Memories Jibacoa, thank-you!
