Terrible shuttle service but good concierge service.
The property is large and the shuttle service is lacking. We waited over 30 minutes to get our luggage to our room and over 25 minutes for a ride from my car. We finally just walked even though the hills were steep because we knew that the likelihood of getting a shuttle was not good. With that said, we did receive good concierge service when we needed extra towels or coffee in our room.

Vacation at your own risk! Wyndham what is going on with property???
It is apparent that the property is currently understaffed and that staff morale may be affected by ongoing guest complaints and operational challenges. Several staff interactions reflected this frustration. Upon arrival, the check-in process was disorganized. Several rooms were not ready even after the official check-in time, and some of our party encountered maintenance issues immediately upon entering their accommodations. The televisions were not working. There were no channels and you could not even use the smart TV function. Although the resort advertises a variety of daily activities for guests and children, these were not consistently offered during our stay. While transportation options to leave the property were available, we recommend arranging for a dedicated driver if possible; we were fortunate to meet Cuffy, who greatly improved our experience with his professionalism and reliability. In summary, while the property has potential, significant improvements in staffing, maintenance, and guest services are needed for it to meet the standards expected of the Wyndham and Margaritaville brands. This property is definitely not up to the same quality as Margaritaville in Orlando, FL which is fabulous. At this time, I would hesitate to return or recommend the property until such improvements are made. Wyndham needs to decide what they are doing with this property. It is clear that they are understaffed and there is a vibe of not knowing if this property will be around for the long run. I hope this feedback is helpful in driving positive change, as the location itself remains a “diamond in the rough.”

Beautiful but beware of sargasso
Gorgeous resort and the catamaran experiences fro sunset cruise and snorkeling with Captain Tuna were great! Free Margarita’s in lobby and Mona was friendly and helpful at the front desk. The beach was covered with sargasso and smelled bad, this 4 rating versus 5 but would go back. Also, rent a car at the airport

Would not go back and most other guest we met would not go back either.
The resort is beautiful and well maintained. However…..the stench is of all the seaweed is horrible - we could not enjoy the beach, restaurants or shows. We had to leave everyday so had the added expense of cabs. They offer free shuttles to 2 other beaches Corki was nice, but skip Sapphire more seaweed and rocks- we found plenty of other well kept beaches…but again cab fares. Also, we stayed hillside which was nice with a pool close by that you could not smell the seaweed at— they have golf carts that will take you up and down if you don’t want to get your steps in. However several carts were broken and wait times could be 30 minutes- we mainly just walked the hills. The room was nice and Most of the staff were nice some were borderline rude. Called and spoke to management - they promised to get back with me on all the inconveniences— still waiting on a call 2 weeks later. (Left messages on this 2x) I did not want to ruin the vacation by pointing out how disappointing the experience there was by continuing to try and contact them. But……. Shout out to Bobby for always being quick with a smile and ready to help!

Making lemonade out of the lemons!
After returning from my recent stay at Margaritaville St Thomas, I will have to agree with other reviewers, that this resort is indeed having some issues. The seaweed does smell bad and there is a lot of it, making it pretty much impossible to use their private beach. However; the pool area is nice and there is also a hilltop pool where there is no odor. There are also plenty of other beaches on the island where the seaweed doesn't accumulate, unfortunately; this resort is located in an area where the seaweed gathers! It was also not a problem for our snorkeling excursion. For supposed mechanical reasons, we were downgraded from our 2 bedroom presidential suite to 2 separate units. While this was a big disappointment, the units were nice with a great view. Unfortunately, the HVAC was inadequate in one of the units, and although maintenance worked on it, improving it slightly, it was never really cold. There was also no TV at the entire resort- I was told an outside issue. While I was able to overlook these issues, had my husband been with me, he would not have been happy. Aside from all these hiccups, we still enjoyed our stay at the Margaritaville resort. I felt the maintenance and management staff went out of their way to try to resolve our issues, in particular Curtis, who did his best to make up for our inconvenience in other ways. And really, isn't that what it's all about? It's often not the problem itself, but how it's dealt with that makes a difference. I found the staff to be empathic and accommodating and therefore, would not hesitate to return to this resort.
