  3rd time at Majestic

  Love this hotel for the beauty of the grounds. It's paradise and very impressive. Beach is amazing. Little bit of seaweed but not a big deal at all. Food was pretty good. Not perfect but good. Asian night at the buffet was the best-don't miss it. American night was the worst. We skipped and went to La Hispaniola. They didn't have a dish we wanted on the menu. Can't recall what it was but the restaurant was ill prepared as we were there early so they should have had the dish. Kids under 12 not allowed at the French restaurant but because it was our 3rd visit they allowed us to order from the French menu at the Mexican restaurant which we appreciated. The onion soup, short ribs and lamb chops were delicious. Our 13 yr old kept wanting to go back which made us separate a couple of times during our visit. Room is large. Little privacy in the bathroom but were pleasantly surprised that the htl installed a roller shade to keep the bathroom separate. Not sure if every room has that but we had it. Helpful with our kids who are now older and want a privacy. The htl needs a refresh. I understand this will happen Spring 2026. Looks like they are not taking bookings for a short couple of mths so it will not be a major refresh. Hopefully this will include new mattresses and pillows as they smell like cheese. We experienced this (pillow cheese smell) the last time (2 yrs ago) and we brought our own pillowcases this time. Htl needs to keep a closer eye on this. Our shower stall door was also full of black mold. This should not be acceptable. We pay thousands to stay here. Air Canada Vacations (tour operator that we booked with) should inspect to make sure that htl keeps up a certain standard. None of the public bathrooms at the Majestic Colonial are completely private. The walls do not go all the way to the ceilings so you are provided with very little privacy. If you walk over to the Elegance you can find public bathrooms with more privacy. The waterpark is very depressing. Nobody was there really which is odd as it services 3 resorts. It's old, tired and boring. It's mainly for those 8 and younger. The music they play there is geared for the younger crowd but those kids are not even there. Times are changing, guests want better experiences. They need a more epic waterpark like they have at Hard Rock Punta Cana or Grand Sirenis. The bathrooms are icky and something out of a horror movie. Our room keys stopped working at a certain point which was annoying as our room was near the beach. All 4 of us had to visit the lobby to get this corrected. I guess I would ask to also get key cards to keep with you at all times if you wish to avoid this problem. I felt safe at this resort. Was happy to walk in the evening even near the beach as there was security on the hotel grounds by the beach. The hotel also has cameras around the resort. All in all I really loved our vacation. This resort is pretty good. Will I come again? Probably not because the waterpark is becoming more important to our older kids. Also our flight home was cancelled due to a major storm. Had to stay 2 days and the price was $2600 CAD for 4 of us. Be prepared they don't let you stay for free.

  A beautiful, family-friendly resort.

  The resort was quite beautiful. We paid extra for a junior suite and a butler. Darnel, our butler was excellent. The buffet restaurant offered unlimited food choices for even the pickiest eaters. The beach was one of the best sandy beaches we have ever seen. The staff were courteous and polite.

  Memories made that will last a lifetime! Agapito Rules!

  We had an amazing stay with our friends in the Club area. Our friend Agapito took very good care of us and made our stay above and beyond what we could have imagined. 12/10! Agapito is familia for life!

  Disappointing 2.5-3 star vacation but paid for 5 Star

  Majestic colonial was not accomating of any of our requests and did not make any effort to do so. Our room was old to the point that it couldn't be made 5 star clean. The terrace faced a dilapidated industrial building which was constantly noisy and face the service road to the rest of the complex. Food was mediocre and service was as well Apparently the building we were in is closing to be renovated which to me is an admission that it is not up to the stated 5 star rating. Pools and beach were very exquisite and made a little up for the deficiencies. Topping up our last night at 5:30 AM the air conditioner leaked and covered the bathroom floor with water so we put our bath towels down to suck it up then at 7:00 Am I called the front desk to report it and request new towels. I was told there was nothing that could be done as maintenance did not open till 8 and housekeeping did not open till 9

  Wonderful Experience!

  We spent a week here Feb 6th--15th, with my mom and her friend. We stayed on the Club side. We had an amazing time! Our rooms were lovely, the food, service and entertainment were excellent! My mom got up at 6-6:30am each day to snag a bali bed by the pool, this would be our only negative regarding our trip. We had a fantastic butler "Samuel" and if we get the chance to return we will request him again! He was helpful, considerate, friendly and attentive. ❤️ The entertainment staff were great! We had the most fun with "Diamond" always greeted with high fives and hugs❤️ The pool attendant "Hanskell" was wonderful! My mom said he was attentive and sweet! The weather was not perfect, so the beach/white party and Valentines fun were held in the Theater. So much fun!! We hope to return next year and look forward to seeing the renovations and beautiful staff!
