  A MAJESTIC Stay

  Our stay at the Majestic Colonial was a remarkable one. From the moment we walk in, the grandiose lobby, professional welcome and the cleanliness made a great first impression. The lush, impeccably groomed gardens are beautiful and make this place feel like paradise. We loved the food, always fresh, plentiful and varied. Whether at the buffets or in the à la carte restaurants. Everyone that served us were attentive, warm and genuinely pleased to do so. The only suggestion I would make would be to slow down the pace at the Ma+Suri restaurant. All the delicious food is served and expected to be eaten in 50 minutes. We left feeling stuffed and rushed. We were staying in a one bedroom suite on the club side and had a wonderful corner terrasse. We felt blessed by this unexpected surprise. This suite was impeccably clean and spacious making it comfortable for my better half and 18 yo son. We had the pleasure of walking the beach and must admit that the Majestic has one of the best. It is spacious, wide, clean and it does not feel crowded. What made our stay even more special was our butler Agapito. He was incredibly professional, quickly responding to and following up on all requests. He was proactive and helpful when needed. He greeted us daily with the biggest smile and genuine care. He called us « family » and we truly felt as though we were. Three members of my party work in management (including me) and we would hire him without hesitation. We highly recommend this resort after being in many over the last 20 years! The Majestic truly lives up to its name!

  Majestic Colonial Truly Impressed

  This was my first trip to the DR in over 10 years, I had heard a lot things about the resorts not being up to par but decided to try something new. I very randomly picked the Majestic Colonial because of the "Club" side which has an adults only section, with a club lounge and the service of a butler. We went in not expecting much because there were so many negative reviews. We almost even cancelled this trip but I am very glad we didn't. We very much enjoyed this vacation and I will recommend this resort to anyone and would return. The majestic colonial is one of the most beautiful resorts I've been to. The landscaping of the resort itself is stunning! The staff should be very proud of the upkeep of this place. It is clean. Every washroom is spotless across the resort at all times. The resort is long and narrow but doesn't take long to walk from the beach to the very front of the resort if needed. The pool on the family side is long and beautiful. Even though we were club guests we spent most of our time on the family side of the beach because we loved the music at the beach bar. This section was close to the entrance of the family pool so I could go from the ocean to the pool in no time and still lay on the beach. We still enjoyed the amenities of the club side, especially the lounge! It was great. Our butler was Alberto, he was amazing! A really nice guy and he works really hard. We found it useful to have a butler on this first visit to help navigate the resort and where to eat. He was very responsive when we needed him which wasn't often. We saw him several times a day too. He had many great surprises for us and we are so grateful for him adding a bunch of extra special touches to our trip. Our room was beautiful and spacious, it was a bit noisy only because we were right next to one of the swim up bars but also we didn't mind because they played good Latin/Caribbean music. Our room was 3206 and was also close to the lobby, this made it a bit loud at night because the nightlife and music goes on until 11pm making it a bit difficult to sleep if you're tired for the day. If I book this resort again I want to ensure try to book in an area that I could get more rest. We heard this resort is undergoing renovations. The rooms are still beautiful but with any buildings like that with the humidity we did have issues with our sinuses and I think this will be resolved after the renos. The beach buffet was great, the staff was great. We loved the food! Both buffets were great. We did eat at the steak restaurant, the steaks were huge T-bones. The Japanese restaurant was good. Also loved Gala night at the main buffet.. all that seafood! I was in heaven. We enjoyed "tea time" and the piano player late afternoon in the upper lobby. The main lobby bar tenders are incredible at night, especially Christian. INCREDIBLE! Honestly, the whole staff is incredible. I wish I could name you all. The sand on the beach is soft and fluffy. This is honestly one of the nicer sections of beach from what we saw on our long walks. Even when we slept in a bit we still found spots on the beach. We were told that the resort was sold out, but you'd never know it didn't really seem too busy which is incredible. This resort has food and drink every 5 feet I swear. You don't have to walk far to find a place to get a drink. Seriously Majestic, you might have found yourself a new long time customer. Only complaint.. didn't love the draft beer but we are Canadian so we are picky and we love our beer. Other complaint, how some guests treated the staff was very maddening. some guests are very rude to staff and honestly unaware of being pushy towards other guests and have no manners at all. I highly suggest this resort hire live music to play at the beach buffet at lunch to give it a fun Caribbean vibe on the ocean. Trust me, your guests will love it.

  Awesome trip!!!

  The resort is beautiful and well staffed. There was never a moment where we received less than excellent service. Agapito was our butler and he was very attentive. We wish we could take this kind of service home with us!

  Very welcoming

  Marisol was very welcoming during our breakfast hour. The food was excellent!! I will definitely stay here again and ask for Marisol!!!
