Friend's Destination Wedding 2025
We were so excited to be a part of our friend's wedding in Punta Cana. We stayed at the Majestic Colonial Club Side Adult only swim up from 11-8 till 11-14. It was tropical, beautiful, fun filled, romantic, good eats, fun swim up bars, friendly staff. Our butler, Agapito, was amazing. My phone got wet. (Bad choices on my part). I asked for a bag of dried white rice to put my phone in, he brought it to me within a few hrs. He was very accommodating. We definitely recommend this resort. Top notch service and cleanliness. Wonderful memories made.

A Few Bright Spots Along With a Bunch of Disappointments
This was our 4th stay at an all-inclusive resort, and Majestic Colonial is by far the worst of our trips. There were a few highlights and positives, amongst many negatives I’ll describe below. We stayed here for 6 nights on the “family”/non-club side of the resort. Rooms – 1/5. They are nice sized. Beds were comfortable. Our first room had a massive water leak in the ceiling. Water was coming through the light fixtures, and down the walls. This was not a new leak, as you could see signs of previous water damage. When I went to the lobby with video proof, their first response was to offer to send a repair man. I had to repeatedly tell them it was not a quick or easy fix, before they finally relented and gave us a different room. Not even any apologies. Two days later, they moved another poor unsuspecting family into our old leaking room! Rooms are very dated, with dingy paint, small TVs, nice patio but junky patio furniture, poor lighting. The outlets were extremely loose/worn, several of them were so loose they would not even hold a phone charger, the plug would just fall out. Service – 2/5. Some of the employees are fun, kind, and welcoming. Others are disengaged and make no effort to do their job. We would sometimes wait the entire dinner and never receive a drink refill. Bartenders usually did well, except one who refused to make a non-alcoholic version of a drink for my kids. Their website advertises a “Teen Club” with billiards, ping pong, darts, foosball. When we asked guest services where this was, they said they didn’t have a specific teen club, just a couple pool and ping pong tables in common areas. I showed them their website stating their was a teen club, but rather than graciously apologizing, they made excuses and brushed the whole thing off. Food – 1/5. This was one of the biggest disappointments. Breakfast all you have is a buffet with poor quality food. There is a lot to choose from, but not much of it is good. The omelet station is nice, but the choice of ingredients is poor. Similar for the crepe station. Lunch all you have again is a choice of two buffets but both have the same food, and poor quality as well. They need to add at least one nicer, sit down place for breakfast and lunch. Also a beach-side quick serve hut, or the ability to get snacks like burgers, fries, chicken wings at your pool or beach chairs would be nice. Dinner was mediocre. The French Restaurant and Hibachi grill were both very good, so be sure to go there. Other dinners were poor. Steakhouse offered variety of steaks, but they tend to overcook and use poor quality cuts of meat. A couple in our group got ribs which were inedible ---- all fat and bone. Seafood restaurant, and the seafood at buffets was disappointing. It didn’t taste very fresh. Mexican/Caribbean restraurant it felt like we were eating pre-made reheated food, also not very good. Cleanliness – 3/5. As said earlier, the entire resort feels dated. Things look dingy, broken, water stained, rusted, etc. They usually clean things regularly, except when they don’t! Our room started with regular cleaning. Then one day they cleaned it, took our old towels, but didn’t give us new ones. After that, we didn’t receive any clean towels for the remaining two days. At the buffet restaurants, we observed a couple questionable food safety practices like reusing cooking utensils, and a dropped lid into the food and then reusing it. The pools and beach were very clean. Location, value, other services 3/5 – the location is fine; we never left the resort. We did use some of the other amenities like tennis and pickleball (nice courts, terrible equipment to borrow), kayaks (very wavy, but adequate). The beach had very nice sand and they removed the seaweed every day. The lobby and plaza areas were nice. The entertainment was very poor. The only show worth seeing was the Circus night and Silent Disco. Most of the other bands and entertainment we tried were very amateur and poorly done.

Amazing Mexican Food and Even Better Service
We had a wonderful experience at the Majestic Colonial Resort. The Taino restaurant was one of our favorite places to eat. The Mexican food was delicious with fresh flavors and great presentation. Our waiter John Emerson was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect during our meal. We also want to mention Madeline at reception. She was welcoming, helpful, and made our check in experience smooth and comfortable. Both John Emerson and Madeline made our stay even better. We highly recommend this Taino Restaurant.

Great family vacation
Great location right on the beach but a few stones in the water. Sand is very soft. We didn’t have much seaweed compared to nearby hotels on the same bay. Staff was incredible friendly and caring, they all greeted us with a smile. The property was clean and very beautiful, with lots of trees and fountains on every corner. There’s a splash park for kids. My baby was too young for it but we stopped by once anyways. Buffet was always fresh and had a great variety. Restaurant food could be improved on but buffet was just fine. We did encounter food poisoning a couple of times but I guess it come with travelling to Central America.
