Holiday Experience
We went on a cruise and stay over Christmas and a 7 night here. We would usually stay in a Hilton or Rui! This was the first time we had stayed at a Bahia!! Will not be the last!! Thank you to all the staff especially the pool bar, lobby bar, fish restaurant & room service and a big shout out to : Denery at the breakfast service who was very happy and friendly Luciana from Haiti keeps smiling. Remember to always smile and be happy!! Thank you!

Wish to go again soon.
Very nice resort for adults only. Getting old and will need some work done it. Food is good but not as good as the Ambar. Entertainment team is great.

Overall not bad, but you clearly get what you paid for.
The resort’s location is excellent. However, due to its large size and the fact that several resorts are combined into one complex, distances to restaurants and the beach can be quite long. The property is very clean, and the staff does a marvelous job keeping everything well maintained. The room was spacious but dated. Hot water was only available at certain times, and although there is a TV, there were no English-language channels at all. The bed was comfortable and definitely not too hard, despite what some other reviews have mentioned. My biggest issue was the strict separation between the different resorts. On the beach, guests are only allowed to stay in their designated section. On my first day, I was politely asked to move because I hadn’t noticed I was in the wrong area. Interestingly, on my second day, while I was in the Aquamarine beach section, a large group from another resort was sitting directly in front of me and was not asked to move, which felt inconsistent. The evening entertainment is quite diverse, but if you try to enjoy a performance at one of the other resorts, you are unable to get drinks or food, which is frustrating. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but the quality varies significantly. While the Mongolian and Mashua restaurants were very good, the Meat restaurant was disappointing. The menu and food preparation there really need to be reconsidered. Service overall was good, though not exceptional. This was my first trip to Punta Cana, and next time I will likely choose a different, smaller resort.

Enjoyable resort
Nice resort, buffet food was good with a large selection. Pools were great. Entertainment was decent. Shop on line for excursions, I was not happy with AmStar excursions.

Great Service, Spacious Rooms, and a Few Beach Limitations
The hotel has simple but spacious rooms, and the pool is huge. The buffet is well served and offers a good variety of food. The staff and attendants are very helpful and friendly. Another positive highlight is the Portofino restaurant, an Italian restaurant located inside the Bahia Principe Ambar hotel. The staff there are extremely helpful and friendly, and the food is delicious. The only downside is the beach. It is a bit far from the hotel, and you can only use the area designated for your hotel category, since there are other hotels from the same chain. When you arrive, sunbeds are already marked with towels even if no one is using them. The beach area reserved for the Aquamarine is very small and there is almost no shade. It is worth mentioning that the hotel offers a late checkout option of up to 5 hours, costing USD 10 per additional hour. Other than that, I have nothing else to point out about the hotel.
