  Pura vida Costa Rica

  Our group of 10 people stayed at Los Sueños Marriott our Costa Rica trip, choosing it primarily for its close proximity to the SJO airport (about 1 hour and 45 minutes drive).  It is a very nice and clean resort and the staff are very friendly. Everything was just so nice there + the food and drinks were both fantastic! The pool is beautiful and so are the surroundings, The excursions offered by the concierge were overpriced, so we opted to book With Pikotravel for multiple excursions including Manuel Antonio, zipline, Savegre rafting, monkey tour with The Green waterfall what a great day that was the best. We did a private speed boat to Tortuga island where we did snorkelling, saw some spider monkeys and even a whale, went to a nice beach and had lunch Trust Piko he can make it happen and you can save $$ Overall, it is a wonderful place to spend your time in beautiful Costa Rica!   The Los Suenos Resort is no longer the Paradise it used to be.

  It saddens me to write this because the Marriott Los Suenos for more than a decade has held a special place in my heart. My husband and I got married here, we've returned many times with our family and various friend groups, however, after this last time, I don't think we'll return. For starters, the ac was out for multiple days, when we were driving there, we were notified they were out and our group of approx 60 would be moved into the vacation homes. When we arrived, that was not the case. According to them, the vacation homes also were not operational. We were told we'd get a "compensation" of some sort, but it was never clearly disclosed. Some people were told they had to use it on Food & Beverage or they'd lose it, we were told we might be able to use it in the spa or at restaurants, the amount wasn't disclosed, just very high level information. Then, when it was all said and done, we were told it could be applied as a credit to the hotel bill. The communication was extremely poor and for a Marriott, uncharacteristic and very disappointing. I did raise my concerns and feedback to the gentleman I had worked with for many weeks planning the party and to add to the disappointment, he asked that when we returned home, we reach out and set up a call to discuss the experience with him and his GM. My husband and I reached out a few times and have yet to receive any response since June 2025. We reached out to both him and the country leader whom we had to engage earlier in the planning process. Overall, I wish they would have been transparent and notified us sooner that there were issues with the ac units, I knew they had issues a couple months earlier from a family member that stayed onsite but I assumed they were resolved, only to find out, they were worse. Definitely a lesson learned. I wouldn't think I'd have to recommend to anyone to call ahead and check to see if the ac units are working properly in a Marriott Hotel, but do yourself a favor and call ahead so you can pivot if you need to. The resort looks beautiful in photos, but try another resort, it's not the same experience as it was 10 years ago, the staff seems grumpy, there are more guests with the vacation club being added and it just takes away from the overall vacationing in paradise experience.

  Excellent property!

  The Marriott Los Suenos is an amazing property! We were recognized as Marriott status members daily by the very attentive and professional staff. They made this vacation exceptional!! The rooms, pool, restaurants, and the swim up bar were all excellent. They also provide numerous pool floats and toys, and the kids club was amazing with lots of toys and activities to keep our kids happy! We will be going back!!

  Another Amazing Stay at Los Sueños – Thanks to Piko Travel for the Adventures!

  This was our second time at Los Sueños, and it was every bit as wonderful as we remembered! The pool here is one of the best we’ve ever experienced—so relaxing and beautiful that you almost forget about the beach (which, while not the easiest to walk on, is still gorgeous to look at). Honestly, the pool is all you really need! The swim-up bar service is always top-notch, with friendly staff who make every day feel special. There are plenty of fun things to do around the resort, and we booked some incredible excursions through Piko Travel—highly recommend them! If you can, make sure you do the CostaCat Tortuga Island tour. It was such a highlight of our trip. We stayed on the Marriott Vacation Club side but had access to all of the resort amenities, which made it easy to enjoy everything Los Sueños has to offer. This trip we tried the free iguana tour for the first time, and it was such a cool way to see the whole resort, the stunning golf course, and even spot some sloths and other wildlife. The restaurants are all fantastic, and the Fourth of July buffet and fireworks were over-the-top amazing—such a fun celebration! We can’t wait to come back again. Between the resort itself, the amazing pool, and the unforgettable adventures with Piko Travel, Los Sueños is easily one of our favorite vacation spots.

  A great vacation!

  We visited the Vacation club at Marriotts Los Suenos for the second time and really enjoyed our two weeks there. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially Leonardo and his team and Danielle on reception. We loved the coffee shop and were made to feel very welcome by the team there. The resort is beautiful and there were always lots of wildlife to be seen. We would highly recommend this great venue in a wonderful location.
