The grounds are gorgeous!!! Very tropical. The resort is big but not too big. There is a nice stretch of beach to walk . The seaweed is hit or miss…..all depends on the day. Plenty of shopping on the resort and right outside the resort as well……but off the resort they are very pushy! We stayed in the Unique part of the resort . It’s definitely worth the extra cost. The butler was very friendly and even decorated our room for my birthday & anniversary! All the resort works were very friendly and helpful. We had a view of the pool and ocean. There was even a professional baseball player at the resort when we were there! I would say the only cons were the food, lack of lighting at night for walkways, and lack of air conditioning, Our room wasn’t even that cool. I definitely would not want to spend any of the summer months here because of the lack of air conditioning. I would say the Unique restaurant for breakfast and lunch was the best options for food.

Honest Warning – Lopesan Bávaro, Punta Cana (Oct 10–13 Stay) My family and I just returned from a stay at Lopesan Bávaro, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing resort experiences we’ve ever had — especially for nearly $2,000 spent. Check-In: The check-in process set the tone. The young woman who checked us in was new and needed constant help from others. We weren’t given basic information about the restaurants or amenities, which left us figuring things out on our own. Customer Service: Overall service was subpar at best. Many staff we greeted with a simple “hola” or “hi” didn’t respond at all, which felt unwelcoming. Food & Dining: The buffet food was consistently lukewarm or cold — never hot. Waffles, pancakes, and other breakfast items came out cold every day. On top of that, you feel like you need to guard your plate, because if you step away, staff may clear it even if you’re not finished. Room Service: Absolutely terrible. Every order took over an hour, and once it took 2 hours and 30 minutes just to get milk. Unacceptable for a resort of this level. Housekeeping: In a 3-night stay, our room was cleaned only once. We had to beg for towels, and when they arrived an hour late, there were no washcloths. After multiple calls to room service and housekeeping, maids eventually dropped off washcloths but refused to remove dirty plates and trash from our room until their supervisor got involved. It was a constant back-and-forth just to get the basics done. Cleanliness & Responsiveness: Even after we specifically left the room for hours so it could be cleaned, we returned to find it untouched. We called twice before anyone showed up. Checkout Experience: As if the stay wasn’t bad enough, checkout was a nightmare. They tried to charge us $35 for being one hour late, even though we had already checked out and were just finishing breakfast. Then at the exit, the doorman wouldn’t let us leave because our room number wasn’t on the checkout slip. We were held up for 10 minutes while staff "confirmed" our checkout. After days of frustration, this was the final straw. Final Thoughts: For nearly $2,000, the service and hospitality were mediocre at best and downright disrespectful at times. Between the cold food, lack of cleanliness, poor communication, and being treated like prisoners at checkout, this resort was a huge disappointment. If you’re considering Lopesan Bávaro, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of resorts in Punta Cana that will value your time, money, and family much more than this one. We will not be returning — and trust me, we’ll be just fine without Lopesan.

My First Time in the Dominican Republic
Since we arrived to Lopesan, the service was excellent and employees were extremely cordial and attentive. Jimmy Sosa attended to all our needs, was always making sure that whatever we needed, we were provided for. He followed up every day and was able to assist us in an exemplary way. If you are able to afford the Unique status, I highly recommended you go for it. Thank you Jimmy! You really provided a super positive and exemplary service. We had some problems with the electricity on a couple of occasions. The array of restaurants and amenities throughout the hotel provided options to a great deal of activities. There’s no need to go out of the hotel to have a good time.

Jose Antonio was very attentive. Rest of guest service was lacking interest or drive for excellence. Nevertheless, Awesome buffett. Great food.
- AdvisoryLopesan Costa Bavaro does not accept Spring Breaker Groups. From February 1st until April 30th, person under the age of 22 years must be accompanied by an adult (23+) in the same room. Rooms with guests under 22 years will be denied at the check in (ID Check) and guests will be responsible for finding their own alternate accommodation.
