  The best holiday for a person from Europe

  Me and my wife were absolutely satsfied with the holiday at Lopesan hotel. We had bookrd the Unique program at this hotel. I would like to recommend this program to everyone who will go to this hotel. At the same time I would like to thank you my butler Jose Luis Santana for his help with all my wishes and problems during my vaccation. I plan to spend 14 days here next year and I hope the stay will be just as wonderful. Peter and Renata from Prague

  Amazing!

  We loved our stay! The property was beautiful and clean! The food was wonderful! And the service was fabulous! Our butler, Jimmy, was amazing! He helped us with anything! He secured reservations for us when needed! He also checked on us everyday!

  Lopesan so much to offer

  Just returned from another great week in Punta Cana, this time staying on Bavaro Beach at the beautiful Lopesan Costa Bavaro. I wanted to provide a detailed review for those of you who have not been to this resort but may be looking for a nice family resort (does have an adults only section). Will be breaking down the review by topics for ease of reading and quick reference. I once again booked with Sunwing vacations (better flight options out of Ottawa) and had Westjet flights. Once again, not the best flight coordination by Westjet especially on departure but that is for another review. Used private transfers with DAT on arrival (provided a separate review) which was once again excellent. CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: check-in with Ismael was excellent and quick. Provided with some information about the resort, provided bracelet which is used as room key (love it) and given towel card (which must be returned at check-out) and bell boy quickly escorted me to my room. ROOM: had requested a top floor room (e-mail was quickly replied to) and was given exactly that. Stayed in room 4063 (4th floor), a pool view king bed suite that also had a partial ocean view. Great location in between the lobby and the beach. The room was very nice. King bed, couch, table, desk with chair. Flat screen. Coffee maker with plenty of supplies, mini bar with lots of beer, water, soft drinks and juices. Electronic safe. Large desk with lots of drawers. Big closet with hangers, more drawers, ironing board and iron, bathrobe, slippers and beach bag. The bathroom is private. Large rain shower. Sink and vanity with lots of toiletries. Large balcony with couch, table and 2 chairs. Everything worked really well including hot water, toilet and A/C. Maid and mini-bar service was excellent all week. The room had no musty smell and felt fresh at all time. FOOD: there are a total of 8 restaurants including 2 buffets (one adults and one for families). The Valley is open 24 hours and has a bar and restaurant (more American style food. Good spot to watch sports. Gondola is the Italian. Inari is the Japanese and includes the Teppanyaki. El Charro is the Mexican. El Asador is the steakhouse and also adults only. Mareas is the Mediterranean. Both El Asador and Mareas are rooftop restaurants. La Boheme is the French gourmet. A good lunch option would be the Gold Fish buffet at the beach. It includes a grill station with options or the inside buffet which isn’t as large as the main buffet but nice to have near the beach. And finally Yolo is another American style food restaurant but open for lunch near the main waterpark at the Boulevard. I found the food to be quite good for the most part and menus in the a la cartes to be quite extensive. Only so so experience was at the Mexican and that was mostly due to the service there. BARS: there are a total of 11 bars so no one will go thirsty here. Coralino bar is the lobby bar. This bar is unfortunately very busy at dinner time as all a la cartes (except La Boheme at the Boulevard) are near the lobby, so the lobby bar could use some extra staff (servers and bartenders) at dinner time. The sports bar is huge and very nice. It is very quiet until after the show in the evening. Also located in the Boulevard, it is the main spot on some nights as the disco isn’t open every night. The wine bar is a beautiful place in the Boulevard where you can sample various wines, some at cost. The English pub, also in the Boulevard is not very busy and although named English pub, it doesn’t really serve English beer or beverage but it is a more relaxed bar. The Theatre bar is open during shows where you can grab a quick drink and head up to the theatre for the shows. Unfortunately, they only serve very basic/local liquor at that bar so I would grab a drink from the sports bar next door and then head to the theatre. The CHIA lounge is the disco and as mentioned was only open 3 of the 7 nights when I was there which was unfortunate as the resort was very busy and the disco packed when it was open. There are also other bars (beach bar, Goldfish buffet bar and Unique club bar). And lastly, the Bavaro coffee shop (very busy) also serves alcohol and specialty coffees. ENTERTAINMENT: the entertainment team that included Scooby-doo baby and Pokemon worked very had all day to keep everyone busy. Games in the morning and afternoon near the beach or main pool and part of the shows in the evenings. There are 2 pool/foam parties during the week. One at the main pool and one at the adults pool which is open to all for that event. There are shows most nights in the theatre in the Boulevard. The MJ show was the best and other shows were mostly dancing shows however, the production and shows are not typical. Well done with many dancers, singers and light shows. There is also a White Night Beach Party on Monday nights. Likely one of the best events during the week. The Casino at Lopesan is also very nice. Being a family resort, you will also find a kids club, a teen club, a bowling alley and huge game room and arcade. POOLS: the main pool is huge and a 2 levels infinity pool with a shallow lower level next to the beach. It does get very busy quickly with a strong towel game for the loungers closer to the pool. However, there are tons of loungers and shade (umbrellas) so it is still possible to find a spot late morning. There are also another 5 pools. One close to the main pool, one that has the small splash waterpark, one close to the lobby and the Unique club pool. All located within the courtyard. BEACH: the resort is on Bavaro Beach in a very busy spot, next to Playa Bibi Jagua home of many boat tour operators including Hispaniola and Happy Fish. You will find lots of loungers and palapas there. There are many boats anchored in the water (not directly on the beach in front of Lopesan as there is a swimming area) but on the left and right side of the resort, boats will pick up guests directly on the beach. There are also many vendors although not as many as going north on the beach closer to the Melia and Paradisus resorts where it can be much busier. RESORT: the resort appears to be huge but the main accommodation buildings are actually well laid out around the courtyard and it is a short 3-5 mins walk from lobby to beach. There are approx. 1,000 rooms with around 200 of those in the adults only section which has its own pool and bar. The Boulevard where you will find many bars, restaurants and over 10 shops is on the outside of the resort. This is also where you will find the main waterpark. The Boulevard also has a full pharmacy and a medical clinic. GYM: the gym at Lopesan is the nicest I have seen at all the resorts I have stayed at. Very large with every piece of equipment you may need. It does get very busy in the morning. It also has a separate floor exercise area with more equipment. SPA: I did not go the the spa during my stay although I did check the price list and was impressed at how affordable the services are for a resort. An 80 mins massage was only $100. It does have the hydro therapy included with most services. OVERALL: really enjoyed my stay at Lopesan and glad I decided to visit this beautiful resort. Should point out that it is very popular for large wedding groups (saw 3 of them during the week). Was also surprised to see that the majority of guests would be between 20-35 with only a few in my age group (60+). There were also a lot more Europeans than I have see at other resorts. Everything during my stay was quite positive including beautiful amenities, good food and drinks. If anything, the only slightly negative for me would be the service in some areas. I did notice that the staff is quite young for the most part. Not as friendly or attentive as some of the senior staff. Some areas like the lobby bar could also benefit from additional staff at busy times. Otherwise, it was a great week and definitely recommend Lopesan.

  Our amazing Butler, Jose Luis

  Jose Luis Santana was absolutely exceptional and truly made our trip seamless. He was incredibly quick and attentive, always managing to find us each morning—whether at the beach or at the unique breakfast buffet. Jose Luis was always available on WhatsApp and provided fast, clear answers to any request. He made booking spa appointments effortless, handling everything quickly and smoothly. Beyond his efficiency, he was very personable, easy to talk to, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. He went above and beyond in every way and was a huge part of what made our experience so stress-free and memorable. I highly recommend requesting Jose Luis Santana as your butler—he is outstanding.

  Great time in a beautiful hotel!

  We stayed in the unique portion of the hotel. It was amazing but what was even better was our butler, Jose. Anything needed he took care of! It was a beautiful vacation!
