  Enjoyable Family Stay

  Loved our stay at Lopesan! We got the Unique package and it was absolutely worth it. We had the best butler, Mr Oliver De La Cruz, who helped make our enjoy peaceful and enjoyable. The food was good, the pools were excellent, and the staff was all friendly. One tip, make sure you bring towels to the water parks. Also ask for Oliver as your butler, he makes things happen. 10/10

  Lopesan Review

  Wonderful resort, but very different from the typical all inclusive I’ve experienced. We stayed in Unique rooms, and our butler Oliver De La Cruz was INCREDIBLE. He is the reason my stars are higher than I would have rated- he was so friendly and helpful, and made us feel truly welcomed. If you go during a warmer time I would highly recommend getting a swim up room- there are plenty of pools, but they were all very warm and not very refreshing with how hot it was, however, our swim up pool in one of our rooms was delightfully cool. The beach was incredible, waters were gorgeous sand was silky soft and having access to the separate “Unique Club” beach was well worth it. Highly recommend getting up early and catching the sunset on the beach at least once during your stay. I am fairly certain that there are sand fleas however, so I would strongly recommend wearing beach shoes on the sand or making sure that you rinse the sand off of your feet ASAP if you’re gonna chill on the beach to avoid getting your feet and ankles covered in the itchiest little bites. The resort is gorgeous and expansive, be prepared to have some longer walks to get between different areas. The property is well kept and has tons of instagrammable spots, and felt very safe. Great location, only about 20 minutes from the airport and on a really great section of the beach. Beds were comfortable, well appointed and the patio setups are lovely if you wanted some quiet time on your own. The food was interesting. For some reason, most dishes had cardamom in it where you wouldn’t think it belongs- not a dealbreaker for me, but it was for my mom. There’s a very big language barrier between what is written on the English menus and what you actually receive food wise, we had multiple occasions that the food we received was not how it was described at all on the menu, but I think it was just due to errors in translation. A lot of the food didn’t really have a lot of flavor and was quite bland, but maybe that’s just because I’m used to all inclusives in Mexico? Our favorite restaurant that we tried was El Charro- get the dessert with the chocolate ball around it, it was yummy and fun. Personally I would skip La Boheme- It looks really Vibey don’t get me wrong, but the food is meh and service was poor. I would not go to The Valley restaurant again even if you paid me- yes, it is open 24 hours, but even when you go during regular times both occasions that we went it took an hour+ to get simple food like nachos(which were awful) and the staff were incredibly rude (for no reason? both times). Hibachi was fun, but it took us 40 minutes and well into our dinner before we got our drinks which was just a non-alcoholic simple Coca-Cola that evening. Beach Lounge Goldfish was a great lunch option, buffet style along the beach. The ice cream place was a pass for me, I don’t think it’s traditional ice cream in the sense you might think and was more full of ice crystals than ice cream. The little coffee shop on the boulevard is lovely. The big buffet is exactly what you would expect, personally I really loved that there was a separate area for adult adults though so that you could enjoy your meal a bit more peacefully if that’s what you wanted. Expect room service will take a minimum of 1.5 hours, regardless of the simplicity of the order- and I would suggest that you don’t assume anything is going to come with your food, like if you want ketchup for your hamburger or fries request it in your order. Overall, prepare to have some patience anywhere you go as it’s definitely a very different service oriented atmosphere, you will often have to go out of your way just to get a drink or to get help, unless it’s from your amazing butler Oliver. Regardless of how much you tip the beach servers, chances are you’re still going to have to go walk up to the bar most of the time to get your drinks if you’re on the beach. Also, don’t expect them to be familiar with most drinks aside from daiquiri’s piña colada‘s and mojitos, not a big deal for me but it made our “drink the rainbow” challenge tricky. Unfortunately, the piece that really soured my experience was on her last day we were spending at the beach in the VIP Unique area… from what we were told there was some kind of issue with the main pool that resulted in tons of water pouring down from the property onto the beach and pulling up directly under the Unique section of beach chairs. This wouldn’t have been a huge issue, but the way it was handled was pretty poor. We only realized it when I happened to get up and see that there was water pooling around our bags that were sitting on the ground, the staff that we asked about it seemed to be well informed that it was happening and not concerned, but didn’t think to let any of the hotel guests know so that they could get their things off of the ground And not soaked. A group of us guests then decided to borrow some sand toy shovels from some little kids to dig out a path to the ocean, so that the water had somewhere to go other than flood the Unique beach. There was no help at all from the staff, no sense of urgency in this water having ruined some people’s belongings, not even an apology from a single person. I will add photos from this. I know it sounds like it might be silly, but the amount of water was insane. It turned into this weird soupy foamy stuff that sat under the chairs and washed out entire areas of sand. If someone had come out and given us a heads up to move our things or maybe even just helped us move our chairs out of the way, that experience would have been completely different- but the water issue went on for hours and the fact that hotel guests had to be the ones to correct it so that they could enjoy the area that they paid extra to be able to have access to, was very disappointing. To summarize- resort was gorgeous, service from the staff was mediocre (except Oliver who was amazing) but there were a handful of great people who we seeked out repeatedly, rooms were good, comfy beds, food was hit and miss, location was great, beach was lovely and well maintained (aside from the water incident).

  If you go, go Unique. Upgrade!

  I booked this hotel last minute and after reading the reviews, I was prepared for the worst! I was wrong and so were the reviews. We were treated with the upmost respect and care during our entire stay. I upgraded to the Unique suite and had a personal butler, Oliver. He was so attentive and caring. Made sure we had a great stay from day one. The food at the Unique buffet was really good. Their regular buffet is a bit bland but it’s geared towards people with very bland taste. The unique options were much better than the regular ones. Drinks were included and it wasn’t cheap licor either, I was very happy with the size and the quality. The pool and the views were incredible. The only thing that was annoying was the noise from several boats docked outside of the private beach but the hotel has no control over it. I hope my son and I can go back to this resort because we enjoyed it a lot. I wouldn’t go to anything else other than the Unique section tho.

  Not worth the money

  Facility stunning, so clean and just amazing. Plenty choice of restaurants and bars - all very excellent food. Drinks were slightly watered down so we went for beer or wine most of the time. A lot of staff were rude and clearer not happy unless you tip them a lot. Customer service wasn’t very helpful to us when my medication went missing from my room after being cleaned. Beach is beautiful, men work hard to clear the seaweed. Pools and all clean and enough space for all guests. Disappointed with the excursions we booked to go on through the hotel, we thought doing through the hotel would mean we would get the best experiences possible and best recommendations- not the case at all. Do not go to fun park or coco bongo. Room service was very poor and you can’t order alcoholic drinks to the room. Theatre was pretty empty and atmosphere was rubbish dispite the staff trying their hardest. The bars in evening are pretty dead, we wished they had kept beach bars open at night. Over all - a lot of money for what you get, maybe too much for the overall experience. We did expect better as it was our honeymoon.

  Beautiful Place

  We came here for our 10 year anniversary & truly loved it. What a beautiful place! Everything was perfect. Loved the fact that it’s so close to the airport. Food was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. Price was good. Thank you for everything.
