I had a disappointing time at the resort, which hasn't met its five-star reputation. The service is terrible, and the maintenance is poor. The bed in our room creeks, and the mattress is so uncomfortable that it gave me back pain. I also found the food quality, including the buffet to be very bad and not tasty, got an upset stomach. They cannot handle when there are too many guests, not enough staff. Would never come back

Our stay at Lopesan Costa Bávaro was truly incredible from the moment we arrived. The bellhop was quick to help with our luggage, and before we even stepped inside, we were welcomed with champagne and smiles. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff were so helpful — we were even able to upgrade to the Unique package, which made the experience even better. What really stood out to us throughout the entire week was the staff. Every single person we interacted with — custodial, restaurant servers, gift shop workers, beach staff — treated us with genuine kindness. They didn’t just take care of us; they got to know us. By the end of the week, it honestly felt like we had made friends. They remembered our names, what we liked, and they made such an effort to make us feel welcome. Our daughter absolutely loved seeing them each day, and her smile said it all. We also have to give a huge shoutout to our butler, Jose Alisia. He was outstanding the entire stay. He always seemed to know where we were and what we needed, and his communication was excellent. His work ethic and attitude were amazing — truly someone who cares about his job and the guests he serves. He played a big part in making the trip as special as it was. He genuinely deserves a raise. Overall, this was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. The service, the atmosphere, the people — everything was exceptional. We’re already talking about our next trip back and can’t wait to return. This resort gave us memories we’ll be holding onto for a long time.

Amazing First-Time Experience in Punta Cana Thanks to Jose Alisia!
This was my first time traveling to Punta Cana, and our resort butler Jose Alisia made the entire experience unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Jose was always quick to respond, incredibly professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. He helped us with reservations, kept us updated on activities, and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness, attention to detail, and warm personality made us feel truly taken care of. Because of Jose, our trip went from great to amazing. If you’re traveling here, ask for him you won’t regret it! Highly recommend

Pros 1. Huge, lush green and beautiful property 2. Great pool and beach 3. Rooms are nice, but property is aging 4. Arrabiata pasta sauce in Gondola is lit AF. One of the greatest pasta sauce if you like spicy pasta 5. Indian style lamb/goat in Atlantico by chef Sanjay is also lit AF! 6. Evenings at lobby bar are super pleasant 7. Housekeeping and maintenance staff is quick to respond to requests Cons 1. Don't expect Cancun style experience where staff shows happiness on seeing you and make you feel welcomed. Few employees will make you feel like that but most will not. You visiting this resort is transactional for most of the employees 2. If the property is fully occupied, staff lose their courteous nature and are always in rush. 3. Their pool side bartenders don't know how to make cocktails, only the lobby bartenders are decents. Overall they don't make good cocktails, drinks are very sweet most of the time. (Exception - Gregory at lobby bar) Also, always ask for branded alcohol like JW black, Chivas Regal, Contreau, Jameson in your drink. Local branded alcohol is super watered down. 4. Lunch quality at buffet needs to improve. 5. They need more restaurants. If the resort has high occupancy rate, you will not get reservation at any of the restaurants. 6. They are reactive in nature when is comes to fixing things.

Tropical vacation!
We had a great time at Lopesan! We had a butler, Isaury, who was a huge help and booked all our restaurants for us in addition to helping with odds and ends. Really nice staff throughout, and obviously the weather was incredible for our relaxing vacation. Also theres so many cats that live on the resort and theyre so friendly and cute! Would recommend a visit here.
- AdvisoryLopesan Costa Bavaro does not accept Spring Breaker Groups. From February 1st until April 30th, person under the age of 22 years must be accompanied by an adult (23+) in the same room. Rooms with guests under 22 years will be denied at the check in (ID Check) and guests will be responsible for finding their own alternate accommodation.
