    They steal your stuff!!!!!!!

I went here on a family trip & they stole my passport from inside the SAFE that my family paid for! Nobody took accountability or tried to help AT ALL!! They had me in the island for an extra 7 days. I had to waste over $500 for all the inconvenience. The food was horrible and the hotel was dirty and small. DO NOT GO HERE! you can find way better.

This is our third stay as a group of missionaries - a very large group of over 200 of us. I would like to recognize Angelica Hernandez for her leadership in helping organize our lunches each day. Always with a smile and catering To so many of us ensuring we had well packed lunches and beverages each day for our work. No matter how many changes that needed to be made or pivoting with numbers and requests she was willing to help. Also to all the staff at the VIP especially Raquel thank you for taking care of our large group after long days of working in the sun.

I was bribed for a good review after the worst stay of my life

Just left, extremely disappointed. If you had a great experience, I'm happy for you. I'm posting this just to warn others. - flight was delayed. JetBlue Vacations called the resort to let them know, I also emailed them (and got an email back confirming it was OK), and my sister who was already at the resort told them for us as well. Each time we were reassured it would be OK. When we arrived, we went from Tropical, to Cofresi, to presidential when I finally got a room (we booked tropical origianlly). On the way to the room, we were totally surprised when our room was already occupied. The security guard had to let us into a random room with one FULL sized bed. We were 2 adults, 2 children aged 5&12. Children slept on the bed, husband and I on the floor. We called the front desk and they told us they would bring us a cot, never did. - in the morning we went to the front to get our room setteled. They told us they were over booked and had no rooms with 2 beds, and no cots available. We had to fight for an hour to get what we paid for... they told us to come back at 3 for a room. - finally got a room and moved all our stuff over. Toilet in the room was clogged almost everyday. - upon checkout, I noticed my daughter didn't have on her bracelet anymore. Annoyed, I pulled out my card ready to pay the $200 fee for losing it. I know I signed an agreement at check in, so it is what it is. They so kindly said they would talk to someone to see if I still needed to pay. Half our later, they told me they are going to let me pay $100 instead. I so gratefully agreed and handed over my card. They then brought out a paper for me to sign saying in exchange for the 50% off, I needed to write the resort a good review on trip advisor in front of them (this was after they already took my payment). I disagreed because I had nothing nice to say... from the hell we went through the first night. I disagreed and told them I would rather pay the extra hundred. They would not let my bus leave without me agreeing. Finally a manager came out because of the commotion, and they let me go. I cannot believe they tried to bribe me into a good review. I honestly was not going to leave any kind of review until this incident. I will never return to the LifeStyle resorts.

We were a part of a missionary trip consisting of 214 people of different age groups. The staff were very accommodating to our large group. A special shout out to Angelica Hernandez who helped us with organizing lunches and water for the missionaries bus groups during the week.

Old rooms and not so great food.

My wife and I stayed 5 days/4 nights, and we went through Monster. We were given silver wristbands, and learned quickly each color means different things like access and how you booked. Owners have gold and get preferred treatment. Our stay was not great, but the staff is overall friendly and accommodating. I'll break down our experience by category. Rooms: We asked for a new room the first night due to it having a loud leaking shower and a fridge that would not close. The safe was also old and I was told a key to the safe was $3/day. We were given a new room the next afternoon. Again, the customer service staff were great and understanding. The second room had a working shower and fridge, but the AC would not cool below 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Both rooms were very dated with old furniture and uncomfortable beds. Also, be aware they ask for you to NOT flush toilet paper, but instead put it in the trash can. Yuck! Food/Restaurants: Depending on your length of stay, you'll be given a certain number of reservations away from the buffet. You'll want to eat away from the buffet whenever you can as it is blah and very repetitive each day. We ate at the Brazilian restaurant and the Blue Lagoon which had a steak and seafood theme. Both of those meals were good. The buffet is very crowded, has few desirable food choices, kids with their hands in the food, and few drink choices. The food service by the beach was ok for simple snacks like burgers and hotdogs, and my wife said the sushi place by the beach was ok. Overall, I'm glad to be back home cooking my own food. Grounds and activities: The grounds were ok and mostly clean, but dated. The pools were mostly crowded, and the main adult pool had a nasty white film floating in it. They are also fairly deep, so you can only stand in certain areas if you are short. There was a quiet pool area on the right side of the resort(if you're looking towards the beach), and that is where I spent my time in the pool. One thing I really liked about the resort is that you can find and use cabanas for free. They were great havens from the Sun! The beach area is ok, but the beach itself is rocky and not too easy to walk out and enjoy. I did not catch the shows, but we did go to a dance party and that was fun. There were random activities by the main pool, and those seemed ok. There are peacocks and cats walking around, and the peacocks will make noises in the morning like roosters. My wife and I spent the majority of our time in cabanas near the beach or by the quieter pool. Other things: I did not enjoy the sales presentation, and I did not appreciate having a crappy room and then being asked to spend thousands to be immediately upgraded for the remaining 3 nights. I've been to other resorts and seen vacation presentations, and this was not too impressive. I would not choose this place again for a trip with my wife. This might be an ok choice if you have a huge family and it fits your budget. Again, the staff is great but they aren't working with the best resources. They are truly doing the best they can with what they have. I hope they will improve the food options and make specialty dining more available. If you're using Monster, I preferred the Punta Cana location. This one is bigger, but Punta Cana had a prettier beach and better grounds. Food was about the same, but I might give a slight edge to Puerto Plata due to the specialty restaurants. Safe travels!
