Krystal Grande the Scam!!!! - Not a 4-Star Resort
Extremely Disappointing Stay As much thought and reflection, I feel I need to post this review. Our family arrived at the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta on November 9, 2025, for our annual week-long vacation. We were a group of 8 across 3 rooms (6 adults and 2 teens), all booked and paid for together through WestJet Vacations. We are seasoned travelers who visit Mexico frequently and have stayed at resorts such as Paradise Village, Moon Palace Cancun, Dreams, Breathless and Iberostar Punta Mita, so we have a strong sense of what to expect from a true 4-star all-inclusive. Unfortunately, this resort fell drastically short. The Pros 1. Adrian and Gilberto - Family Pool Servers - These two were the highlight of our trip. Their service consistently went above and beyond. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared. They are the reason this review isn’t a 1 star. 2. Buffet Quality - Surprisingly excellent. The buffet food was far better than the à-la-carte restaurants. There were variety, freshness, and overall great quality. 3. Omelet Bar - Delicious and well-run. 4. Beach - Beautiful beach, especially for boogie boarding. Our family had a blast. 5. Grounds - The shared outdoor areas are very well maintained and visually appealing. The Cons (and unfortunately, there are many) 1. Room Disaster Upon Arrival - Out of the three rooms we booked, only one was the correct room type. Front desk management insisted that each room had been booked separately and at different prices. This was false. The whole vacation was booked and paid for by one person. Only after significant pushback and a later social media post did the hotel finally move two of the groups into rooms closer to what we had paid for. 2. Poor Room Conditions - Even once moved, the room conditions were unacceptable for a resort claiming four stars. Issues included: • Unclean rooms on arrival and throughout our stay • Moldy, rotting wood • Leaking and/or broken showers • Inconsistent cleaning (floors were never swept or washed all week) • Dirty, stained furniture • Filthy, stained drapes • Pull-out couch and bedding that were stained • Repeated lack of towels • Only one deck chair delivered We do not live like this at home. 3. Misrepresentation and Poor Support from the WestJet Rep The WestJet area representative repeatedly misled us: • Claimed we “could not move rooms” because the rooms we received were supposedly what we booked • Claimed we “could not book dinner reservations for more than 6 people,” insisting this was a rule at all resorts (not true, and not stated anywhere by Krystal Grand on their website). When confronted with the fact that previous resorts accommodated our group of 8 with no issue, she backtracked. Only after escalation were we finally given three dinner reservations, two of which were duplicates at the same restaurant. When asked why, we received no explanation and were effectively dismissed. Once I received the dinner confirmation tickets, the concierge asked me to delete my socail media posts. 4. Front Desk Would Not Break Bills - Shockingly, the front desk refused to provide smaller bills for tipping and directed us to the convenience store instead. This is unheard of at a resort and counterproductive for staff who rely on tips. 5. Inconsistent and Sometimes Poor Restaurant Service Breakfast was particularly frustrating. • Our group of 8 was repeatedly ignored • Despite multiple large tables available, staff tried to separate us into groups of four • Service was hit and miss. Some of us received coffee, others didn’t When service was good, we tipped generously. But the inconsistency was unacceptable. 6. No Clean Beach Towels for Hours On our final full day (November 15th), the resort reached capacity and completely ran out of clean beach towels. We were told there would be no more for the day. Only after multiple guests complained did “clean” towels eventually appear hours later. 7. Other Concerns about the Resort • There is no place to sit in the evening and not enough room for evening entertainment • Spelling on signage (signage around the pool is spelt “Slipppery) • Wi-Fi is slow, unreliable and inconsistent. Repeatedly had to sign in thru out the day ________________________________________ Final Thoughts Had we simply received the rooms we booked upon arrival, much of this could have been manageable. Instead, the resort created unnecessary stress during what should have been a relaxing family vacation. Although some issues were eventually addressed, it should not take social media escalation and constant pressure just to receive what you paid for. We would not recommend the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta. There are many far better options in the area, and we will be choosing elsewhere for future trips.

Amazing experience
It was a beautiful experience for the first time. Traveled with my four children and my husband. Was beautiful, I would come again in a heart beat!!! The buffet we went to for most of my stay was amazing. Each day different kinds of cuisines and very clean. Breakfast, lunch & dinner. The waiter that served us every night, his name was Miguel Martinez. He greeted us every night and was so welcoming and warm everytime. Was like family!!
