The gold standard!
We are lucky enough to return to our favorite place on earth. The team here makes you feel like family with every interaction. They embody the very essence of “Cayman Kind” and strive to ensure that your stay is truly relaxing and zero stress. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and the staff anticipates your every need. We see much of be same staff year after year, they call us by name and make it an easy decision to return without even considering going elsewhere for a luxury vacation in paradise.

Five Stars
My husband and I spent 4 nights and 3 days at this resort in an Oceanview room with a stunning view. Everything was wonderful. The property is clean, well appointed and just the right size. The food was generally excellent. We loved the quality and variety at the breakfast buffet - special shout out to Chef Mariyon at the omelet station - and the healthy (but still delicious) options on the beachside service menu. Highlights of our stay: the Library Bar, our couples massage at the spa (give yourself plenty of time before your appointment to fully enjoy the spa amenities) and our Chef's Table meal at Avecita - another shout out to Chef Carlos and Chef Rodrigo, not only for the creative and delicious cuisine, but also for the great conversation. Without exception, the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay great. If you can afford to travel to Grand Cayman, stay at this property!! We will definitely be returning again someday.

Way Over Hyped!!
We were so excited to stay here after seeing many glowing reviews. It fell short in almost every aspect. Started with check in. We are a family of 5 and had other family members staying in a house in the island where our boys were going to take turns staying with their grandparents. Front desk was extremely rude in accusing us multiple times of trying to sneak 5 in and told us he would charge us if house keeping saw 5 in the room. Because of how awful the resort was my boys all wanted to stay at the house and only one of them stayed one night! We also gave the Kimpton password and were given absolutely nothing for it. The signs on the beach say no reserving chairs til 8 am which is absolutely not followed. We were down there for a beach walk at 7:45 and workers were already giving the first few front rows to certain guests. Every single morning we witnessed fights over beach chairs. The workers always gave into whichever guest was the rudest. This creates a truly unrelaxing vibe and the arguments would continue all day as some people would hog chairs and not come down to the beach til after lunch. Beach service was so slow. If we went to the towel hut to ask for someone to come they would tell us to “wait for their colleague” this seemed to be a common phrase throughout the whole place - I can’t help you but you need to wait. Breakfast was always a wait for a table no matter the time. One day my husband and 10 year old were seated at the bar and my husband got up to get food and a guest sat in his seat. This sparked a huge argument between staff and the woman taking the seat. My 10 year old was mortified. On another day a table of about 12 8 year olds was running around screaming, knocking food over with no parental vision in sight and no action from any staff member. One day we had an early excursion booked and my husband asked for a packed breakfast sandwich or to be able to grab something from the little shop as our stay included free breakfast. They first said no. Then said peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and finally 4 calls later agreed to give us breakfast sandwiches. Throughout our stay, we tried to get in touch with management many times they would text back and say just to enjoy our stay and they would try to meet with us. The one time the manager finally did seek us out was when we were in a hurry to get to our excursion, which he knew about because we had talked to them about breakfast. Overall, they didn’t seem to care at all about our concerns. It really seemed like they were just trying to keep their head above water because the staff could not keep up with the capacity. We were there over MLK week and the place was overrun with kids. There was constantly screaming crying. I know the resort can’t help this, but it was shocking that parents wouldn’t take their kids to the room after a 45 minute tantrum on the beach. I would never ever stay here without children. They were completely understaffed, and the staff could not keep up with all of the demands. Our flight home got canceled because of winter storm Fern and we moved over to Palm Heights and the Westin, both of which were much better and I would choose 100 times over staying here again.
