Amazing service and hospitality!
I had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott this January for a work trip. The staff and property were amazing! We spent every day at the pool and received the best service from Manuela! She made the trip very memorable for our group.

Perfect Non-All Inclusive
Jan 15 arrival. Had two Ocean Front One-Bedrooms. 3 Adults. Rooms 501 and 502. Also rented a beach cabana. First trip to Mexico. Would return in a heartbeat. Room: Excellent condition. Bedding great. Towels average. Shower fantastic. Views great. Elevators (4) perfect. No room noise from neighbors. Wi-Fi was erratic; was better at pool and beach. Beach Cabana: a luxury but I thought worth it. Never had to worry about the sun (skin cancer) and service was excellent. Never had to go find a spot. They will send you a map ahead of time and you get to pick your cabana. I chose #1 but would pick #3 or #4 next time. The wind was always blowing from the north and #1 took the brunt of it. The complementary fruit platter each day was perfect for 3 people. Pools: We're beach people. Didn't use the pools but they are abundant and was never packed to capacity. Many early risers were saving chairs, but it wasn't necessary. See pictures. Breakfast. Never went to buffet, used Cafe 750 each morning. Fresh coffee and large muffin or banana bread was 190 pesos ($11 US). Lunch: Had lunch in cabana each day. Ceviche and Grouper sandwich were very good. Prices were reasonable. Dinner: Bravio the first night but thereafter we went offsite. Parole, Harry's, Puerto Madero and Nicoletta's. Taxi to Nicoletta's was 250 pesos ($14 US) but we walked to the others. Made reservations but was not necessary, even on weekends. All less than 10-minute walk from front door. Each a little different but would return to all. Bravio was just average. Ran out of time and didn't get to Fred's. Airport: Chaos to get a taxi at Cancun upon arrival is beyond description. Should have arranged for hotel shuttle. Never again. Return to airport: Be careful of this. Instinct would tell you to arrange through front desk/Concierge which you can do. Cost is $50 US. A private taxi arranged by doorman, without reservation, is $42. The difference is the commission the hotel gets. Dress codes: As always, women get dressed up and men wear shorts and a golf shirt; but gentleman, do we have to wear a baseball cap to dinner? I know, it's me. Doormen: Excellent. They know the cab fare to each destination and tell you what you should pay. Taxis are always waiting outside. They also can call the restaurant to tell them you are on the way. Use them. Lobby Bar: Very nice but if you are a lover of American/California wines, you will be disappointed. Oh well, we adapted. Grocery shopping: We didn't go to the supermarket but there was a Go Mart close by (8–9-minute walk) that had liquor, beer, soda, juice, chips etc. that we used. An actual liquor store, pharmacy and 7-11 were just past the Go Mart but I didn't notice until it was too late. Bring a grocery bag from home. Sunsets: None. You have to go to dinner offsite. Parole, Fred's, Harry's, Puerto Madero. See picture. Small stuff: There is a min fridge connected to the mini bar that you can store your own personal items. See picture. I did not witness anyone not having a good time. In room TV included Netflix and ESPN but no Bloomberg or CNBC. Pool is quiet. No DJ. No bingo. Just the sound of the waves on the beach. Beach was cleaned everyday but there is always seaweed. Wasn't an issue. They do measure the pool temperature each day. Bring pesos. I didn't but next time would. Everyone and everything accept $US but in the end, you are spending more, especially for taxis. If a taxi is 250 pesos, which is $14 US, how much are you going to give the driver is US? I'll bet it's $20 US. Next time I'll bring between 500 to 1,000 pesos per day.

Great Experience!
We've been going to Cancun for 20 years, but this was our first time at the JW and it was AMAZING! The property is absolutely beautiful, the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly and restaurants on property were delicious! We stayed on Club 91 which we would highly recommend - the multiple presentations throughout the day were thoughtful and tasty and the open bar is a nice touch. We got a 90 minute couples massage at the Spa which was a real treat - the spa staff were great the spa is gorgeous. Specific shoutouts to Ambar at the Front Desk, Adrian & William down at the Pool, Franco, Camilla, Eduardo, Krystal on Club 91. They were all super friendly and made for a really special experience. Can't wait to visit again!
