    Iberostar screws the pooch

    We took 29 people to this resort as a combination of business and pleasure for our staff. The food at the restaurants was 1/3 good, 1/3 cold and 1/3 fatty and grissly (at least the meat was). Getting into the restaurants was an expected issue, so I asked for help in coordinating. I told them we did not want large group tables but something like tables of four to six. They said they could work with us for an additional cost of $6000. That seemed a bit much since all the food and drink was included already. The bottom line was we were the first ones in line each night when they opened and they could still not figure it out. First example was at the Jamaican restaurant where we told them we were 29 people and wanted tables of four to six. They informed us that they would have to charge us $750 for a table of 12. We refused to accept that and made them give us smaller table sizes. After the aggravation, we at least got it worked out. It was time for a new plan, so we decided to split up to make it easier on the restaurants. At the Italian restaurant, we were at the opening time with 16 people. They agreed to no extra charge and put us at tables of 10, 4 and 2. I know that seems hard to believe, but after much arguing they insisted that two of our people had to sit in the corner by themselves. They had to rearrange a table for six to make the ten. I watched them do it. They are just not smart. I would have been easier to make another six and use one of the tables of the twenty empty table of four that they had. I would have been easier on the kitchen and staff to not have a table of ten to try to serve all at the same time. The hotel and their management are not focused on the the customer at all. The meeting coordinator, Nasthasia Hanson, did a nice job with our meeting rooms but failed when trying to sell us on $6000 to go dinner. After a night of frustration at the restaurants, I asked her for a suggestion as to what to say when we went to the restaurant, she just got up and walked away. She was right and just knew that there was nothing that could be said short of paying and exorbitant amount of money. I would have to say that if you go here with more than four to six people you are crazy. PS The pool staff led by Anishka and Theolyn were great but not enough to cover for the lack of customer service everywhere else.

    I was here last December for my sister’s wedding, had a wonderful an amazing time, I really do enjoyed the atmosphere!

    Food and drinks was pretty good, breakfast was my favourite time of the day for the food, beach and the pool were fun, met some cool people, quick tip make sure to stop with your concierge to reserve your dinner reservation for the Japanese restaurant, ask for our girl Safa, she’s very friendly and very knowledgeable about the brand. She will tell you about the complimentary shuttle for shopping, how to see the cats, and also to be at the restaurants very early because first come first serve.

    Loved it all. Wrist bands were great keys. Food lines are a bit of an issues if you have a large group. Motown was a great night show. A suggestion is to switch up music. Alot of guest were bringing their own speakers, as they were wanting to hear something different. Overall I would definitely recommend.

    What a special birthday celebration week!

    We had such a wonderful experience in spending several nights here celebrating my wife's birthday. The resort itself was SO to our liking in terms of the size (not too overwhelming) with just the right number of delicious restaurant choices and bar options. Our celebration included a special private dinner on the beach experience - which was exquisite! Best of all was the service overall. In particular I must give special kudos to some extraordinary individuals: Alain - providing our butler service. SO attentive and warm. Bravo! Andre - our 2nd butler who also provided incredibly thoughtful service to us. Nicki Ann - providing housekeeping service. I'm not sure I've ever met someone so full of smiles upon every interaction - who also gave us marvelously attentive service. Cassandra - the bartender in the non-swim part of the swim-up bar. She was a delight all week. Vanessa - our head chef for the incredible private dinner on the beach. Wow! Thanks to these 5 special stars, and to the rest of the wonderful service team. You made the birthday week for my wife (and for me) amazingly memorable!!

    Fabulous!

    We have stayed here last year. The only thing that was disappointing g was no reservations for dinner at al la carte. Makes for too many line ups Closing the main buffet frequently made for dress up alot more than we planned for Lunch buffet fantastic Grounds very well maintained Staff best of the best We will definitely come back!!!
