    Well earned 5 stars

We have been here at the Iberostar Waves resort in Cozumel for a week and a half. It’s the first time we have stayed at any Iberostar. We have stayed at the RIU Palaces and various resorts, many times in the past. We are very happy here at this resort. The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. Everyone is welcoming and very helpful, and everything is very clean. The grounds are beautiful with many plants and wildlife such as flamingos, peacocks, coati, parrots, and hawks. The beach is beautiful with a pier as well. It’s a little rocky to walk into the ocean, but much easier to enter from the pier. The pools are nice. The staff here is excellent. We have especially felt welcomed by one of the concierge‘s, Natalie Sosa. Whenever we had a question , she knew the answer or how to help us. She even invited us to the annual fiesta at El Cedral, where she dances with her family. We had a most enjoyable time there and felt very welcomed. All the staff here are really great. We would definitely return here if visiting Cozumel again.

    You gotta get here!

What a fantastic experience! Worth every penny and I didn’t want to leave. Super clean, super helpful staff, luxury amenities, delicious food, awesome activities and offerings to explore the ocean and reef. It was so cool to see wild and docile animals roaming the resort. Loved the peacocks! Rooms were great, very quiet, the bed very comfortable, bathroom was high class, and the balcony facing the ocean breathtaking. One of the bonuses - the resort is environmentally friendly and a commitment to have a low to no impact stay (composting, recycling, energy efficiency, etc.) I highly, highly recommend staying here.

Showed up to a resort full of strangers but said goodbye to friends

We went for a couples weekend. Our experience… amazing. We snorkeled, fished and appreciated this smaller more intimate resort experience. It wasn’t a Palace it was beautiful, tropical and private . We plan to come back. We are middle aged and not as thin and pretty as we use to be. Wearing swimwear can feel overwhelming but we were loved and welcomed as we are, thats a big deal when it comes to enjoying a resort. We Loved it felt like hanging out with a lot of new friends.

If only Iberostar had a clue, doubt we return

As much as I wish I could give this place a 5 star review, I can't. The pros of this resort are first and foremost the amazing employees! They exude hospitality at the highest level. So incredibly friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent and the relaxing mood is superior. But the relaxing mood doesn't last because at 12:00pm and 4:00pm everyday the staff (just doing their job) cranks up obnoxious music and starts playing games by the poolside for 45 minutes. So much for relaxing while eating, reading or napping by the pool or sea. The decibels are so high, it truly will damage children and adult's hearing for life. Even if Iberostar feels it's necessary to entertain their guests with these games and music, it was such a small amount of people participating while the rest of us suffered. There were other times when they decided to turn on loud music too. When we checked in, we asked if there would be loud music near our room and we were assured they only "play relaxing, quiet music." That was a blatant lie. This was such a negative experience for our vacation expectations that we can't consider returning. If we considered booking at another Iberostar, we would question them extensively to see if this is the status quo for all their locations. So disappointing.

    Gorgeous All Inclusive in Cozumel

The resort grounds are gorgeous. Lots of flora and fauna, all of which make you feel like you’re dropped into the tropics. The beach and pool areas, of course, are stunning and well maintained. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is pretty good, but after a few days it can get a little repetitive. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, reasonably priced getaway in Cozumel that has a good balance of relaxation and good vibes, this is the resort for you.
