got a daypass with a daybed and the staff was great, so friendly and welcoming, not like other resorts that are actually pissed because you bought a daypass. The food is topp notch and my wife and I enjoyed ourselves so much that we went back a second time during our trip.

Wonderful holiday - wish we could’ve stayed longer 🏝️
We spent a great 2 weeks at the Iberostar Cozumel and wish we could’ve stayed longer. It was our first all inclusive experience and really enjoyed it. Our days were spent camped at the beach and by the pool. There were plenty of loungers, all within a short walk of the beach & pool bars. The view was so relaxing. The entire site is spread out from the lobby at one end, the accommodation in the middle, then the pool and beach at the other. Nowhere felt cramped or busy, and even though there are lots of guests, it never felt crowded. The rooms are spacious with a good sized bathroom and comfy bed. The food was very good. Enormous choice at the buffets - where the food was constantly refreshed, and good menu choices at the restaurants. At lunchtime on some days, the chef from Barcelona cooked up delicious paella on the beach (my favourite lunch). And the stand serving freshly cooked tacos was a lunchtime fav too. We had arrived from 6 time zones away so took a few days to get into the entertainment programme, but loved it when we did. The recreation team were good fun and very inclusive of all ages (and abilities 😬), no one was left out. We enjoyed beach volleyball, arts/crafts, archery, Spanish lessons and daily pool games. The team members even remembered our names which was an unexpected bonus, and quite indicative of how they went about their jobs. They were not only the games ringleaders, full of enthusiasm and energy, but also people with whom you could enjoy a chat. They were all great with special thanks to Betty, Jerry and Humberto for helping us have fun on our hols. All the staff were friendly. Thanks too to front desk manager Antonio, for my daughter’s birthday treats, and the friendly Carlos (CB) for arranging our snorkelling trip with the onsite Dressel Divers; a highlight of the holiday. Dressel Divers also provided the inclusive sailing (loved it) and kayaks. All very easy to make use of. This is a 5 star review but I’ll finish with a couple of observations including one isolated negative experience: 1. We booked 3 rooms for 14 nights, paying slightly more for the ‘tropical view’ rooms. Having visited, I am confused what makes the ‘tropical view’ better than the slightly cheaper ‘garden view’. Proximity to the lobby (breakfast) or beach/pool makes no difference because we walked between the two at least twice per day. Next time I’ll save the money. 2. Sadly, our check in experience was **terrible**. At 9pm after 20 hours of travelling we were told one of our rooms wasn’t paid for! They wanted to put a hold on our credit card. We refused - it was their problem not ours! We eventually got the keys 30 mins after arrival. The next day we were invited to the lobby to hear it was all their mistake and everything was ok. My biggest disappointment was the check in staff seemed more interested in processes than people. There was no compassion. It would’ve been so easy for the front desk manager to see we were very, very tired, realise we’d already paid $thousands for at least 2 of the rooms and give us the 3rd room anyway, making an appointment to sort it out the next day. It didn’t affect our enjoyment of the resort but I will follow this up with IHG and Iberostar.

We Love Iberostar Wave Cozumel!
My husband and I traveled to Iberostar Wave Cozumel twice a year with our friends and their teenage/adult kids that have become family.. This place is beautiful from the grounds, rooms, ocean and pool. We have made many friends with the staff and they welcome us each time with open arms and a smile. From Isabel at the front desk making our checkout so easy and always so accommodating.. she is so kind and professional we love her! Alonso is also at the front and is always so helpful, kind and friendly. He’s always so willing to help with any questions or things we may need. The food is amazing and Fabian never disappoints, he is always present and making sure everyone’s needs are met. If you have any dietary needs he is right there making sure you get the things you need. He also is professional, but so friendly and truly cares. The Restaurant staff is the BEST around. They are all great, but the ones we have the most experience with are Cindy whom we’ve known for many years and she has become our family too! Wilbert and Jonatan always great us with a smile on their face and make you feel at home.. They have amazing memories for remembering what drinks to get us for breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Chef Jorge is also wonderful and willing to make sure you get everything you need. There entertainment staff makes this resort special too, from the games in the pool and all the special things they offer for you to do during the day. From guessing games, bingo, corn hole, ping pong, water aerobics and more. Omberto is one of the entertainment staff members and he always made sure to see that all the quests were enjoying themselves.. The Spa is wonderful and I would highly recommend to anyone… Sondra and Bertha are the Best! The experience is so relaxing. This place has truly become our home away from home…

An Amazing holiday
An amazing holiday in such a lovely hotel. You can see why this hotel is 5 stars. Everything from the accommodation, food and things to do was great. We especially loved the Asian cuisine a la carte restaurant. Theres an abundance of wildlife on your doorstep and flamingos by reception to pass each morning on the way to breakfast. Unlike other hotels there was plenty of sunbeds by the pool/beach and we made use of the swim up pool bar for cocktails. There is a diving place on site called Dressel Dives and we highly recommend using their services, we did a discovery dive and loved it. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. This was our first time in Cozumel and the long journey was worth it.
