    Fun Thanksgiving get-away with family

Our family group of 8 just returned from 5 nights/6 days at this resort. Overall, we had a great time. The food we had was really good from the steakhouse, hibachi, Italian, and tacos by the pool. Even the burgers down by the beach were really good. The Italian restaurant is hard to get in to. People line up at 5:00 to put their name in and sometimes still don't get in. I put our name in at 5:45 one day and got a text 3 hours later that our table was ready. By then we already had our food at the steakhouse. The next day at lunch a worker came to my husband and I and asked if we wanted a reservation at the Italian restaurant, which was great, but I'm not sure how or why we were asked. We had no problem getting chairs by the pool. We go to Mexico at least once a year but had not stayed at this resort since 2013. While there have been some renovations, the resort is starting to show its age. Our service was hit or miss. We went all day Saturday by the pool without a single drink server asking if we wanted anything. They seemed a bit short-staffed overall. All things considered, we had a fun time. If you do not have kids with you, I'd highly recommend adults only.

Spend your time and money elsewhere

Our stay had great moments, but overall it was disappointing. Most of the staff- instructors, wait staff, and bellhops—were fantastic and the beach was beautiful. Unfortunately, the front desk was the complete opposite. Challenging and dismissive which set a poor tone for the stay. We ran into several issues with our room. We experienced surprise maintenance visits, water damage that left a mildew smell, electrical issues and a layout with almost no privacy between the bathroom and shower areas. With 4 adults in a room that had only 1 bed and a broken fold-out couch (told could fit 4), we had to request cots three times before they finally arrived. Pillows were bulky and uncomfortable. A “wine debacle” added frustration—asking for a glass resulted in a full bottle being charged $100!). We challenged the staff and ultimately were told to bring it up at checkout - we did and then were told we had to pay for the bottle because it was “empty,” despite it being left in the room over 1/2 full. They insisted and we felt bamboozled. Restaurant access also wasn’t user-friendly; this should really be integrated into the app. Entertainment was lacklustre and geared mostly toward kids. And between the slow elevators and the relentless construction noise—so loud we could barely have a conversation at breakfast—it made it difficult to fully relax. There were bright spots thanks to the wonderful staff outside the front desk, but overall? I DO NOT RECOMMEND and will not be back.

This place is awful!! Go somewhere else!

This place is absolutely terrible. Had my wedding here. It was awful. This resort is beyond unwhelming. Very boring. Entertainment was terrible both at the pool and at night. I have stayed at plenty of other resorts in my life and this is by far the worst. Resort was in poor condition and extremely dated. When you go away you want to have that special feeling of walking into somewhere nice and inviting after your flight and let the feeling of vacation hit you. When I walked in the entrance for the first time especially knowing my wedding was here I had the feeling of “damn! We (BEEP)-ed up”. The staff was very univiting and not very attentive. Elevators were a problem. Only one lobby bar. As for having a wedding here, they don’t give a (beep) about you. There is no special factor. Broken stuff they just put sheets up and murder scene tape like at the main pool. All stuff you wanna see when you’re having a wedding and family and friends flying in. Felt embarrassed that we chose this place. I could go on but I am telling you save your money and go somewhere else. You won’t be happy here. It sucked.

    Certain rude staff

We are currently at this hotel, today’s date 20th Nov 2025 and felt compelled to write this review right now in order to benefit from what we hope will possibly be positive constructive criticism mainly regarding the service by some of the front of counter staff, namely one of the male bartenders in the theatre bar and a one of the ladies in the afternoon service in the shop. Certain personnel (nameless at this stage) there appear to be very unapproachable, disrespectful, downright rude. Leaving us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable . This needs to be seriously addressed . This can easily be resolved by training and appropriate supervision. We are hoping this will be taken on board and used in a constructive way, for the benefit of the remainder of our holiday and will also protect the reputation of the hotel who should not be affected by the bad attitude of certain members of its staff.
