    Would happily return

We stayed at the hotel for 10 nights so this is a long review. I'm really bad at collecting people's names so I do apologize for not being better about that. We had so many wonderful moments and this vacation was exactly what we needed. We stayed in a first floor villa away from the main building. This is our feedback: -The beach was pristine and waking up before sunrise as much as possible to catch the views is so beyond worth it. -The yoga classes and instructor were excellent. We really felt this is a huge benefit to de-stress and the classes are perfect for all levels. -All the staff by the pool and at the towel rooms. The staff really make things great at this resort and they are the heart and soul of the place. -We had the same housekeeper everyday and she was absolutely lovely. 10/10 service -The hammocks by the villas are so relaxing and fun to try. -The swim-up bar in the pool was like out of a movie and had a really great atmosphere. -The buffet we loved. We ate many meals here and the food was really good. I think it's fair to say that if you get there when the buffet first opens then the food is the most fresh at that time. It must be hard to keep a buffet running and I give a lot of credit to them. The chef came around one night and spoke to us. She was so warm and lovely and asked us questions about the buffet. You can tell they care if it is a success. I personally loved the tostadas and the fried eggs & omelets every morning were delicious. We also had sushi at lunch one day that was way better than any sushi I get at home. Anyways we really miss the buffet now that we are home. -The steak house restaurant (La Parilla). We ate here twice and loved both times with two amazing servers. We actually went to an off-property restaurant (Chambao) and my partner felt the steak was actually better at the hotel restaurant. We did experience the issue with long waiting to get in on the second visit but I think this is something the management needs to address and I know other people have brought this up before. We didn't mind waiting because we were not very hungry but it was not a great system. We stood in line for 45 minutes and then waited another hour to get our text in order to sit down and eat. Just not a great system and people in the queue were pretty upset. It's not fair to all the amazing staff that the restaurant has there that they don't fix this system somehow. The staff have to compensate and it should not be this way in my opinion. -The room: We loved our location and our balcony got a lot of use. I also loved that they put the drying rack on the patio to hang wet bathing suits and things. The bed was so comfortable and perfect. The room however is in need of an upgrade and that is a no-brainer. To me the hotel is 5 stars except for the condition of the room. We didn't really mind that much and I had seen a review on YouTube where someone else commented on the villas needing an upgrade so we knew what to expect but the room deserves a remodel. Thank you to everyone who works so hard and we appreciate everyone so much for making our holiday really special.

Chef Prepared Dinner in our Villa

It’s such a treat when the Chef comes to our villa and prepares a 5 course meal! They do such an amazing job, bringing in everything AND cleaning and clearing it all away. Chef Jacinto was the best. His dishes were delicious and they had such incredible flavor. You could tell that they were made with love. Moises was our fantastic server and he anticipated our every need before we knew we had one. Guadalupe was there to oversee the night. He made sure the process ran without a hitch and that we had the best experience ever. These guys make an exceptional team and we were lucky to spend an entire evening with them all to ourselves. This is one of the many benefits of our Iberostar membership that we thoroughly enjoy.

    Honeymoon in Cancun

This was our fourth time in Iberostar Selection Cancun, celebration my daughters honeymoon and a party of eleven adults and two children, in six rooms. Once again the hotel delivered a great holiday for rergulars and newcomers, welcoming us like lost friends (Christian, Andrina). The rooms were clean and well presented and the staff were fantastic, as usual (Elizabeth,Maya). Food was top quality, with different options every night, I never ate the same dish twice during our 14 nights stay. We always got a big table (13) every evening, prepared by our favorite, attentive, polite and helpful waiters (Alexander, Roberto,Bryan,Manuel,Amalia Adrian Jose, Claudia). The gardens were lovely and constantly tendered daily. The children pools and waterpark was ideal for my two grandchildren who spent a lot of time in there. The pool was very big and cool, with lots of areas to explore if you wanted a little peace, away from the busy pool bar (Alexandra,Ana,Seuleil). The pool restaurant and ' burger van' did a roaring trade with international and local snacks/meals. It was unfortunately an bad time for seaweed so the beach was not accessable and this was the same for most of the beaches. Cancun is such a fantastic resort and has changed so much from our last visit 2019 new hotels, bars, clubs, restaurans and shopping malls. I was introduced to Iberostar Hotel Group and shown around the benefeits of joining up but declined. Two of our rooms were not up to the standard expected from Iberostar. My room door had gaps all round it, through whice you could hear the traffic noise on the Boulevard Kukulcan and door to safe cupboard had to be slammed to shut it. The main pool was very gritty underfoot, as though the tiles are breaking up, my son in law cut his toe on something, we never found out. My daughters room had mould in the minifridge, which she never used, a broken cupboard door and stained cushion. On our last day I bumped into the Rooms Surpervisor, who checked the condition of the rooms after the housekeepers, missed a few things. Instead of pushing IHG please try and keep the 'standard rooms',pool up to the high quality they should be. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Iberostar and would definately be coming back. Thanks to the managemernt and all the wonderful staff who contribute the make this a great holiday. Bien hecho a todos!

    Will return in future

About a 15 min shuttle from airport to resort Check In - smooth and we paid our tourism hotel tax at the beginning. Wrist bands are your room keys. Room - 5/5 Ocean view with balcony. Room was clean and large with nice shower, with a mini fridge, hair dryer and safe. Lobby bar 5/5- Veronica was awesome coming around to tables, always with a smile. One night was live singing and then never returned, found that very odd as it was pretty good. Would like to see that every night. Buffet 3/5 : large variety of food and food eaten had lots of flavour. Claudia was a great server and was attentive to our needs. -1 some items that were expected to be hot were cold (roasted vegetables) -1 area designated as Indian food, we thought would change to different cultures nightly for an unique variety did not Overall plenty of food to eat and salt n pepper on tables if needed Taco and Hamburger stand near pool 5//5 lots of flavour and hot À la carte 5/5 Italian and japanese were both very flavourful. Coffee Bar 6/5 fresh coffee of various categories available 24hrs with small treats. Bars 5/5 good selections and drinks made to order Pool 5/5- separate kids area, sports area and vey large main pool. Pool was cleaned daily. Beach 5/5: Cleaned daily with minimal seaweed during our visit. Loungers 5/5 - first resort that appears to have ample loungers at pool and beach, never an issue finding a lounger. There was still a few towel lounger hogs that the resort could address by removing towels if not occupied within an hour. Entertainment 1/5 The theatre is one, if not the best setup we have seen, however the entertainment was poor to little talent. The resort needs to add an info board of nightly shows and times, there was a tiny scroll screen available and on room TV, but need a large still screen as you walk in/out of main lobby daily to attract attention. The best singer of the week was a guy by the taco stand one night, he should’ve been in the big theatre, we had just stumbled upon him performing. APP 1/5: no entertainment schedule listed, can’t book à la carte. so not sure of value of APP. it did give notice of room cleaned which was a bonus. we will return to this place in the future.

    Service Lobby Bar

With her radiant smile and warm demeanor, she is the first highlight for every guest. She moves through the lobby with a graceful efficiency, always attentive and proactive. One could call her the "good spirit" of the room. Every coffee, every drink is served with swift precision and a personal touch. Guests immediately feel welcomed and excellently cared for by her positive energy. She is not just a server, but a wonderful hostess who enhances the entire atmosphere. An invaluable asset to your team!
