Our first Hyatt as UVC members
Let’s start with bad 1. Dinner reservations…. When Hyatt bought AM resorts I was excited for the potential of more resorts to visit. One of the greatest things about AM resorts is the fact you do not have to make reservations with the exception of the Hibachi table at the Japanese restaurants. Thank goodness we had a butler who took care of that for us every morning at 7 AM 2. The cleanliness of the room…. The beds were made, the towels were replaced but the rooms were never deep cleaned. My wife said she missed the trashcan with a wet wipe of some kind and it was still there the next day and the floor around the toilet was never cleaned. Fingerprints were also everywhere on all the glass doors in the bathroom. 3. The bellman….. never ever have I had to haul my own bags down to the curb in all the years I’ve been traveling. Hyatt, this is ridiculous and needs to be fixed! No one told us when we checked in or out that this would happen. We are on vacation, this is not what one does when on vacation! Now the good…. 1. The Sommelier…. Geovanny was knowledgeable and went out of way to make sure our dining experiences were perfect. His wine suggestions were spot on. No matter what restaurant we happened to be enjoying he would come to our table to check on us. Excellent service, quite a surprise! He is the best at making our trip exceptional…my wife said a true gem!! 2. The food… Try all the restaurants, none let us down, even the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Never got to try the food wagon because of the inconvenient hours and no take out. 3..The beach club….. We enjoyed the the time we spent here, the water was a blast, quite shallow with plenty of waves to enjoy. We like to walk the beach but this one is too steep or soft to do so. The lunch is very good, try the wedge salad and fish tacos! Everything else we experienced was average so I won’t waste your time mentioning. We will be back and hope Hyatt fixes the issues we encountered.

Girls getaway
Nice clean great atmosphere adult only all inclusive. We were greeted by Oscar and he took great care of us when we arrived and his colleagues did too when we departed. A few things we found were : -the A/C we couldn’t adjust. We needed it to be cooler than 21 degrees. -We had the golf side view which was great. Considering we heard from others on the pool side that it was crazy hot from the sun and very loud at night. Plus we had crocodiles to watch each morning while sipping on our lattes. -that flashing green light(smoke detector) in the room is annoying -managed to lower the time limit on the under wardrobe sensor light. Cause that was annoying at 3am when bathroom was used -no fans in the bathroom very much needed. The beach club is nice. A 10 minute shuttle. Food is awesome there. No wifi on the beach beds but no techno music either. So pick your poison. Dinner Reservations are good to have When you reserve right at 9am. However, if you go on an early all day excursion with no wifi you cannot reserve your dinner. We even tried the night before to reserve explaining our dilemma and were denied. That factor needs some reconsideration. All the wait staff outside were very attentive. We found a few waitstaff in the dinner restaurants to be forgetful or not actually listening to dinner requests as we had a few mishaps. Water should be a priority every table and consistently filled up. As People are drinking alcohol all day and basking in the sun. We found we were shunned a few times asking for water instead of wine with our diners. We loved every meal at every restaurant as there’s a variety to choose from even if you go 3 x to the same place. Which we did. We loved the Mediterranean, The steakhouse and the sushi restaurant. The morning buffet was absolutely fantastic. Everything you want to eat and more. Fresh fresh fresh!!! We gravitated to a waitress named Regina! She’s the best there. The pools were a bit cold but who wants a warm pool when the weather is hot? We did take advantage of a day pass up in the Vantage Club. It costs us $70 US funds. The breakfast and lunch are nothing to write home about. The breakfast buffet is 100% better. Yet the pool was nice , great view and much quieter than the 2 pools downstairs. The hotel provides lots of activities throughout the days which is cool. If you’re looking for fun outside of the resort see Miguel he is great. Pool chairs are always booked up in the AM when the rules state that they are not allowed to be. No enforcing on that one. You just wait till you can get one. We swam, we swung on hammocks & chairs , we sat out at the fire pit round couches. We took walks out to the Main Street to check out the wild life along the road. We drank lots of frappes, Miami Vice, mimosas, whiskey sours, Long Island ice tea and water. All in all it was a great fun all inclusive.

Amazing Resort, Incredible Staff. Already Want to Go Back!
We had an amazing stay at Hyatt Vivid Grand Island. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, clean, modern, and well-maintained with a great overall vibe. The staff was outstanding from start to finish: friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The food was very good with plenty of options, and the drinks never stopped, service around the resort was fast and consistent, and the bartenders were great. You must upgrade to vantage. This will allow you access to the rooftop pool. Absolutely amazing. The bartenders were beyond great and Cesar has a lot of fun with the guests to trivia, games and many more. The only disappointment we had was when we tried to rebook for next year, we didn’t really get much support or guidance in getting it set up, which was surprising considering how excellent everything else was. Overall, we loved our trip and would absolutely recommend this resort. We’d return in a heartbeat.

Good but not great
So everybody should be aware going in this is not a beach front property. One needs to take a (free) shuttle for about 10 minutes to get to the beach. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes and is clean and safe. Once at the beach, the beach is great and the ocean the perfect temperature. Check-in was friendly. My room was on a high floor, with nice views over the bay and the pool area (which is a double-edged sword). The view was for sure very nice, but the pool area is loud and lively. They had music BLASTING until 10:30 at night, which prevented good sleep. Even with my doors closed I could hear every lyric and feel every beat. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been on a lower floor. The room was fine. There was no bathtub, but the double-rainfall showers were nice with good pressure. Bathroom amenities were plentiful. Housekeeping was awesome. It was prompt, and my room was always clean. Perhaps the most annoying part of the room, as noted by others, is that the lowest temperature setting is 21 degrees Celsius. I sweated in my room throughout my stay, making further difficult. The restaurants are...adequate. I didn't have any meal that "wowed" me. -The Japanese restaurant, while offering nice views, is of poor quality. The meats were overcooked and the sushi mediocre. -The Mediterranean restaurant was fine, though nothing special, again. -The Italian restaurant was probably the best of the bunch, with higher quality and better service, though upsells to better wine and food were pushed hard. -The poolside "hub" restaurant was again, very mediocre. -The ceviche restaurant was SLOW, and again mediocre. -The Vivid Bites restaurant was good, with great service. -Shade is hard to come-by both at the pool and the beach -- beware! -The bars were...fine. Liquors were very middle of the road (whiskey is Jim Beam, for example, and the tequilas are again mediocre). Service was consistently friendly throughout the resort, with employees who generally seemed to care. Overall, this is not a resort to go to if you are looking for quiet and relaxation. The pool area is often loud, with lots of loud music and "events" throughout the day, and there was an annoying DJ at the beach. I've stayed at a lot of resorts in Cancun, but probably won't be back to this one.

Beautiful Stay Overall
Had overall had a great experience at Hyatt Vivid Grand Island. Beautiful, brand new hotel with modern rooms, a gorgeous pool, and a really nice beach club. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Not very vegetarian friendly and definitely not vegan friendly. Buffet options were pretty limited for us. Overall, still great value for the price and a really beautiful resort.
