Sep 12, 2025Great hotel for families & at the heart of all the Waikiki action
We stayed for 10 nights over a busy holiday weekend and although we enjoyed our stay overall, we feel like this hotel is best suited to families, rather than couples. We experienced excellent communication before check in and Alaina/Harriz and team gave us a wonderful room upgrade with ocean front views because of status; we found the room to be spacious and beds were comfortable. Globalists get Regency Lounge access and so we utilized it for breakfast and evening nibbles. We found the food to be very good overall with many healthy options and the staff is excellent, but the seating space indoors is extremely limited and doesn't accommodate the amount of guests that have access to it. We saw many guests have negative experiences with aggressive birds at the outdoor seating area, and we would need to see this issue improved if we were to return - other restaurants locally have deterrent machines for the birds, and this RL desperately needs to do the same thing to make the experience more enjoyable for guests. The yoga at the spa was excellent - great teachers & lovely views! The water stations are on every floor, which was super convenient. The hotel has a nice shopping area on the open ground floor area, and remember to try the gelato place! The balcony was a great spot to sit if we had a grab-n-go lunch, and in Aug/Sep we never had the sun directly on it (room 2063), so that was very pleasant even when it was 85F+ and I'm not great with heat! We did not use the pool; the seating area surrounding the pool looked very small for the size of the hotel, however the hot tub was large. The balcony doors do not seal that well and so beware that even with a noise machine, Waikiki - especially over a holiday wkend - can get crazy loud at night when everyone shows off their car engines and motorbikes. :0P If the Regency Lounge outdoor seating experience improved, we'd visit again!

Would come back!
Pros: - Right in front of Waikiki beach - Food and bars in >15 min walking distance - Water dispensers throughout 2nd and 3rd floors - Towel vending machines Cons: - Parking structure is right across from hotel but is really tight. You can't park for the first 5 floors since those are reserved for valet. The turns can only fit one car going up or down, so be careful! Self-parking is not guaranteed. Valet is $70 but sometimes would offer the self-parking $60 price and still take the car for us. If the lot is full (no self-parking and no valet), we left our car overnight for $60 at International Marketplace a few blocks away (you don't get unlimited in/out privileges since you're not at Hyatt parking). - Shower tub felt like a waterbed when you step into the tub. Seemed like there was water trapped under the tub? Water didn't drain very well either.

Sep 10, 2025Great location and service but disappointed in the condition of the room
The location is great however the condition of the room left me disappointed. The hotel was cleaned very clean and the staff was very nice but it looks like the room itself needs maintenance. The wallpaper had square cuts made to it and the carpet was uneven in the room. There was even a broken wall tile in the bathroom but by the time I noticed all this it was already the end of the stay and I didn’t want to complain and move rooms for a single night.

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort is amazing!
Wonderful hotel and great staff that provide excellent customer service! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay. The beach is right across the street and is easy to walk to. The ocean view room we had provided awesome views of the ocean and Diamond Head.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, in accordance with Hawaii state law, has a non-smoking policy in all guestrooms, including lanais and balconies. Smoking is prohibited in guest rooms unless the room is designated as a smoking room, which is then only permitted on the lanai or balcony. A smoking room can be requested but it is only a request and cannot be guaranteed. Guests smoking in the non-smoking floor guest rooms will be assessed a $250.00 cleaning fee by the hotel.
