Can't wait to come back!
Amazing resort! Great food, pools and drinks. We had a river view room and it was great. Our butler team of Janisse, Ivan and Christopher were great. Any tine we needed anything we messaged them and they were always quick to respond

Lost reservations and other hiccups with the hotel
My biggest complaint is that we had filled out our requests with guest services for restaurant reservations and park tickets ahead of our stay, but when we arrived they had no record of anything we had requested. And even more frustrating, the people at concierge were less interested in helping us find our reservations or book new ones, and more interested in selling a future stay or time share. I did finally speak to one person, that jumped on it and called guest services to find our requests, but it took many trips to concierge to find someone that would help. Also, I had booked 2 queen rooms directly with the hotel but when we arrived, they did not have 2 queen rooms. It worked fine for us to have one king room and one queen, but if our sleeping situation had been different, I don't know what they expected us to do. Our rooms were beautiful, with a private terrace. We were also not made aware that the weekend we booked, alcohol could not be served unless eating food at a restaurant. When paying for an all-inclusive but not able to drink, I thought we should be compensated in some way for the adult stays. We paid for something (unlimited drinks) that we were not able to get. They wouldn't even allow us to sit at the restaurant bar with an appetizer and order a drink, we had to have a table! Also, the mini bar - drinks and snacks, were supposed to be included with our stay. It was full when we arrived, but never refilled. We called 3 times to the front desk to have them refilled, always with the response that of course, we will be down right away, but no one ever showed. And one night they were having a wedding reception by the pool outside of our room. The party and blasting music went on until after midnight! I wouldn’t normally care, but this resort is advertised for families and I wanted the kids to enjoy a full day at the parks the next day, but they didn’t get any sleep! Some advice would be to take advantage of the parks, that's a large part of what you are paying for with this hotel. And book the cave restaurant, Brazilian steakhouse, ahead of time. It was amazing. But be sure to confirm all your reservations before you leave!

A Stunning Escape with Unmatched Dining
Hotel Xcaret is truly exceptional! The food is the best I’ve ever had at any resort: fresh, and consistently delicious. Despite its size, the property never feels crowded. The grounds are stunning, and there’s no shortage of activities if you’re up for adventure, or peace and quiet if you’re not. The only area for improvement is the check-in and check-out process, which felt disorganized and out of step with the otherwise seamless experience. Still, an unforgettable stay overall. We can’t wait to be back!

Disappointing
Where to start. This was quite a disappointing resort. I’ll start by saying I’ve probably stayed at 6 different resorts in Cancun and this was by far the most expensive and one we had highest hopes for and it was by far the biggest let down. The pick up at the airport was fine. After an hour and a half drive to the hotel we arrive to a long line and having to wait almost two hours just to check in. The staff did nothing to accommodate (provide alternative lines or even talk to guest to explain what’s going on). Then, we get to our rooms and there’s very low water pressure and the rooms are hot with no adjustable thermostat. The shower design is SIGNIFICANTLY defective. Three of our guests, including my 5 yr old son got a bloody foot and then the only time they come to speak with us (other than to sell their pictures) was to let us know they plan to charge $200 for blood on a sheet cause by their shower issue. Also, came back to the room to sleep and none of the lights turned off. We had to call twice and wait over an hour before anyone came to assist. Let’s move on to the restaurants. They have a main buffet restaurant that has great quality food. However, no kid options other than pizza (which was empty half the time). Also, on three occasions we waited over half an hour to be seated to eat lunch and breakfast. They say they offer room service. We called three days in a row and never once did anyone ever answer. The rooms were cleaned daily but no drinkable water was left in our room despite us leaving the jug outside our door to be refilled. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. It feels like a big hotel who can’t handle what they say they’re trying to offer. The parks were fine but the lines everywhere were too long. We never even got to get in line for the zip lines because all day the wait was too long. It was pretty disappointing. Also, when trying to leave the park two buses passed before we finally had to get a taxi. One of the times the bus was too full. The other bus, the driver left with an empty bus when she decided her shift was over. Their one kids slide was closed the entire time we were there. The other slide was closed for day too. The wait staff was wonderful but the operational staff was sub par and not helpful at all. Which is especially disappointing because everywhere we went people seemed confused as to where to go or what was offered. We will not be returning and don’t think I could recommend it to anyone.
