It's a nice hotel, with some facilities. Every day was full at breakfast and the pool. Although, the food was good and diverse. 4 stars it's enough, in my opinion.

Let’s do plus points about RIU first and then I’ll explain the 3/5 I have RIU. The location is very central to bars , restaurants and shops . All is walking distance. We loved that we didn’t need to take taxis. Even Casco Viejo was approx 10 mins away. Room was nice and clean with great views of this amazing city at night. Breakfast at this hotel is a wonderful treat. Many choices of cooked foods every day. I must give special praise to Edison in the mornings at breakfast. A smile and warm welcome to me and my husband. Always attentive to our needs . I hope management will read how wonderful he was. Also a mention to Ronald and Mr. Anjer who was in black tie shirt and pants. Always so wonderful to us also. It was because of these three people in dining that made our experience at RIU a good one. This hotel could easily have gotten a 5 if the rest of the staff and reception people had been like Edison. No customer service polite cordial skills. Even housekeeping when we had a question would answer us with ‘yes’. How rude when we said hello to them. Maybe they could learn from our wonderful three friends in dining how to treat guests. Lastly, note, walls are thin. You can hear what goes on in room next door. Two nights I was awoken by loud snoring next door and had a bad nights sleep. Then there was the same couple another night and we didn’t need to hear their business . That was unpleasant. Improve your customer service skills. Even people who had to take luggage to rooms weren’t friendly.

Our stays was very pleasant as a result of good Riu team work. Of course, few people did better job than others. Our special thanks go to Damaris (registration desk) and Abdiel Marin (he was on a temporary job) in buffet as a lead waiter. We strongly recommend him for Riu Plaza staff due to his excellent job ( Yanelis Becerra can give more info about him). Both Damaris and Abdiel were a step higher in their job than their colleagues.

My Xmas and New Year stay at Riu Plaza Panama City
This was one of the best hotel stay to date. Couldn't asked for more. Will be recommending to my friends 🧡

Great
Overall was a fabulous stay . Good food and service , just the carpet should be deep cleaned as it has a musty smell maybe to hardwood or tile would be better and a microwave in rooms would be great .
