Good venue when visiting and vacationing in Cartagena
A good venue with a great location, beautiful beach and great food. A good place to stay when visiting Cartagena. Not a 5 because the hotel charges you extra for a beach umbrella and chair and vendors at the beach can be overwhelming. Loved the service of restaurants, cleaning staff, gym (which is AMAZING), towel service, Edgar (beach security) but not the check in and reception which should be top notch (the reception is also a bit run down and which is your first impression of the venue)

Formal Complaint Regarding Failure to Warn Guests About Beach Vendor Scams – Possible Violation of FTC Act Section 5
I am writing to express my serious concern and disappointment regarding an issue I encountered during my recent stay at your establishment in Cartagena. The hotel itself is decent. As an American guest, I believe your hotel failed in its duty of care by not informing visitors about the aggressive and fraudulent behavior of some beach vendors operating just outside your property. During our visit, I was approached by vendors who seemed affiliated with the hotel or at least operating freely in close proximity. They offered services or products and processed payments via credit card. Only later did my friend discover she had been overcharged significantly—an amount far above what was agreed upon. This appears to be a common scam targeting foreign tourists, particularly Americans. What is most troubling is that your staff did not issue any warnings or guidance about these practices, which could have easily prevented this situation. By failing to advise or protect guests, your hotel may be engaging in conduct that borders on being unfair or deceptive, as described in Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act, which prohibits "unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce." As a guest, I expected a reasonable level of support and transparency. At the very least, hotels operating in tourist areas with known scams should be proactive in warning their guests. Your inaction in this regard demonstrates a neglect of responsibility that contributes to these predatory behaviors continuing unabated. I urge your management to take the following steps: Train your front desk and concierge staff to warn guests about beach vendor scams. Provide visible signage or written materials in guest packets with guidance on how to safely engage with local vendors. Cooperate with local authorities to report known scam incidents and take action when guests are victimized. The hotel itself was decent, but I'm very disappointed that no one warned us about the aggressive vendors on the beach.

give this place a miss
You pay extra for breakfast and or lunch or dinner. Then you are told multiple restaurants that are not open. Only one which is only good for breakfast. I'm you pay for the lunch or dinner option good luck. The first night no lunch they made us pay. Next day lunch is a very limited menu. No mention of this on website. Nice hotel but staff are clueless on how to handle the options. Twice I was told to go to a restaurant that wasn't even open.

Excellent service from Davey, Luis Carlos, Esteban and Kenier on the beach - gracias!!! Travelling solo and feel very safe. It cost $30,000 to order and umbrella - the hotel is lovely and everyone is always trying to be of service even with the language barrier.

Wonderful staff, beautiful pool and clean!!!! The rooms have been very clean, the pools were all clean, I never encounter any problems with anything I needed. They have a small cafe by the lobby with delicious pastries. I recommend the beef pastel. Thank you to Arismel for food recommendations
