Decent hotel with Great location
We stayed here for two nights before moving to the Marriott Stellaris after Hyatt cancelled our reservation. This is a very decent hotel at its price point and the location. It is right on the middle of Palm Beach with a pristine beach and close to many bars and restaurants. Of course this is not a luxury resort, and it's a bit dated. The service was great and it was easy getting a beach front palapa. If you just need a place to sleep and want to enjoy the island itself, it's definitely a good choice to do Aruba on the cheap.
Post COVID visit
So happy to be back to Aruba and the Holiday Inn. We missed our yearly visit in April due to COVID so it was nice to make it here this year in July. The hotel was at pretty low capacity (no fighting for palapas) and the palapas have been moved forward again on the beach! Sad to see that some of of favorite staff who have always made our trips special are not back. The manager Martin, who always walks around ensuring guests are happy and well cared for was nowhere to be found. We really missed his attention to detail. He always made us feel so special. Also, John the bellman has not returned yet. Hope to see these great guys soon and hope they are well. Don’t hesitate to come back and support this beautiful island.
Great hotel for the price but
The resort was nice, staff friendly, and during the covid 19 pandemic all safety precautions were met. What I didnt like was at least three people staying at the resort would clean their slippers of beach sand in the pools and Jump in the pool with sand on their bodies with out rinsing off. There were three rinsing stations and no enforcing of rinsing sand off before heading into the pool. Gross. Also iguanas are all over the property. Not a problem. The problem was they would defecate and urinate near the pools and not once did staff power wash the areas. Other than that I loved the resort.

First...thank you Aruba for welcoming us! These are hard times. Rooms: They were almost clean? We had scraps on our carpet. They need updating too. Information: no binder in room. Is this because of Covid? No idea about room service (we were in quarantine awaiting results), when pool closes, events, etc. I was sad to miss Bingo. Staff: 98% over the top, the other 2% horrible enough to make you upset. Location: perfect. Once again, I really wanted to give you a 4. Thanks Aruba.
Thanks for nothing
I’m pretty disappointed with our experience here. We booked the Holiday Inn for its value, but looking back we should have stayed at any of the surrounding resorts. They cancelled our booking per travel restrictions, and then charged us $600. We were also told breakfast was included, but were charged $50 for the 1 day and told that wasn’t in the package, we booked a King size, but our “UPGRADE" was two twin sized beds for my girlfriend and I. The A.C stopped working, it was fixed but then it would cut in and out as it pleases the rest of the week. They only do housekeeping every 5 days due to "stopping the spread" of COVID, the handle on the blinds was broken, the ice machine didn’t work, the jacuzzi didn’t work. When we called the IHG management team we were told we’d be contacted before we checked out, they called 5 days later and told us "that they did everything they could, and the A.C was fixed immediately", not an apology, or anything, I didn’t get the resort experience I anticipated.
