No contact reservation cancellation.
I AM A HILTON HONORS MEMBER BUT NO LONGER. IM MOVING TO BONVOY BECAUSE OF THIS EXPERIENCE. When we came into the hotel we found out our room reservation was cancelled due to a problem with the room. Being a honors member I thought I would be notified if there was any change but we were not. Was told we were booked at another hotel at no charge. We did not have a car and we were told to take an Uber. The new hotel was 10 miles farther away. I asked for compensation for the round trip Uber cost but was told they would only pay for one way. I have to pay for there issue. Unacceptable answer. I asked for a gift certificate or honor points. They said no. I asked for them to give me another room and have someone with a car go to another hotel. They said no our reservation is cancelled and can’t de re booked. Very frustrating. Gave me the front desk managers card and told me to call her. I had the front desk call for me because I knew she would not answer. I was correct. She was not working and off for the day. They called the operations manager and was told nothing more would be done for me. I asked for a face to face meeting with the manager. Was told to wait. After 15 minutes had the front desk call her again. She told me she was working a wedding and would be with me after the ceremony. More excuses and no help. They put us in a motel 6 type motel lodge. Didn’t feel safe and it was in a sketchy area. They probably saved money on this room. I’m sure they won’t give me the difference, they’ll keep it. The word HONORS does not belong in their name.

Disappointing Stay at Hilton Garden Inn Kauaʻi
I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Kauaʻi—and sadly, it was the first Hilton property I’ve encountered that doesn’t live up to the Hilton name. Instead of the quality and luxury we expect, I found the front‑desk staff and breakfast attendants to be surprisingly rude. Parking will set you back $25 per night, and breakfast costs $30 per person (with a $10 cappuccino) for a sparse buffet that included bread but no ham or cheese for a simple sandwich. Housekeeping is only every other day, so after beach outings our room became messy and sandy. To top it off, our first‑floor room overlooked the staff parking lot—hardly the Hawaiian vista one dreams of. The one bright spot was the beachside bar, where friendly staff, tasty food and drinks, and an incredible sunset view reminded me of what Hilton hospitality can—and should—be.

Hilton Garden Inn, do better.
I usually read extensive reviews before booking a place. But, for some reason, I trusted the Hilton brand and booked without research. The hotel experience was subpar and I’m extremely disappointed in the experience when it cost so much. 1. I called the hotel prior to the stay to confirm the price included resort fees AND parking. The person on the phone said yes. Surprise, surprise.. I was slapped with resort fees at the end. Of course, I called to contest but there’s no winning. I didn’t get a name of the person that gave me the information. Another fail for me. 2. Our room was switched bc we found two LIVE roaches in the room. The staff were accommodating but that doesn’t take away the mental stress of seeing roaches and wondering if your new room has them. The new room didn’t have roaches but rather had ants. 3. Service in the room not consistent. The hotel skipped a day of service. Only a big deal when you’re in and out of the beach a lot. 4. The lobby mini market was selling moldy oranges. 5. The room view offered a phenomenal sunrise view. No sunsets on this side of the island. 6. Hotel location central to many parts of the island and airport. A plus. Overall, I won’t book Hilton Garden Inn anymore. Shoulda stayed loyal to my other hotel chain… lesson learned.

Would Not Recommend This Location
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was incredibly disappointing. On my first night, I found two baby cockroaches in my room. When I informed the front desk, they switched me to another room but showed no concern, didn’t apologize, and didn’t offer any sort of upgrade to make up for the inconvenience. The second room wasn’t much better — there were spider webs, baby spiders, and ants. My room also wasn’t serviced at all until I called to remind them, which shouldn’t have been necessary. Even after that, spider webs were still visible on the popcorn ceiling, which makes me question how thoroughly the rooms are cleaned. On top of all that, the TV didn’t even offer streaming options — no Netflix, no Hulu, nothing — which felt very outdated for a hotel in this price range. For a Hilton-branded hotel, this experience was far below expectations. I won’t be returning

Wouldn't Choose to Stay Here Again
I took my 17 year old daughter on a Mom/Daughter trip to Kauai for her upcoming graduation from high school for spring break. After much research we landing on booking the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay. I was excited that we would be right by the beach and it was central to most everything you can do in Kauai. Those specifics were great experiences while we were there. The hotel staff was very nice. From check in, maintenance, restaurants etc. I have zero complaints about how very nice every person was. My complaints are that we were supposed to receive housekeeping every other day and we arrived on Thursday. We received housekeeping on Saturday as planned around 4pm and never received it again. We stayed until Wednesday. On Monday we expected to have some clean washcloths and coffee restocked and it wasn't. We ended up showering with the towels and washcloths we left on the floor for cleaning and had to call for more and coffee which didn't arrive until a couple hours later. Never again did they come to clean. My other complaint was the food. It was awful and expensive which is expected at a hotel in Kauai. It wasn't edible. The queso was more like a bean mush. No cheese. I had stomach issues both times we ate at the hotel. The hot tub was so cold we couldn't get in. I realized there was a resort fee of I think $25/day but didn't realize about parking fees so it was about an extra $350 for the week. I wouldn't recommend staying here mostly due to the housekeeping problem.
